my wife gets emails from someone who is serving in another country.. he keeps on referring to brothers/sisters who are 'need greaters'.. if they are actually using this expression then i have to say that it is the stupidest 'title' that they have ever dreamed up.
so full of their own self importance.. need greaters?..............
.
We were need greaters in 1968. We moved from California to Kentucky, where the need for JW's was greater.
My parents would have been about 25 & 37. They sold everything they owned and moved where we knew no one and had no family or jobs waiting no home...nothing except the other congregation knew we were coming.
In CA where we lived we worked the same territory every 6 weeks or so. In KY, there was territory that only got worked once a year or less, because it was all country, farm lands...miles and miles between houses. We would pack a lunch and make it an all day event. I was 8 I did what I was told.
I don't remember that phrase used by very many though. "need greaters"

hello knowledgeable people.. i am looking for advise on home owners insurance.
we've lived in the same house of 12 years and had the same home owners insurance for 12 years.
every year the insurance goes up about $100.00.
Thank you all for your advise. I knew I was coming to the right place for suggestions.
We have State Farm. For our house and all three cars. Our home owners insurace this year is $844.00
In 2009 it was $665.00; 2008 it was $563.00.
We have never filed a claim. As a matter of fact..even after my children moved out, they were still using our address for thier mailing address. Everytime one of them would get a ticket the insurance would call me to see if they were living in our house and if they drove our cars.
But when we had a fire in our home..and I was burned and care flighted to the hospital and it was on the front page of the paper..we got NO call.
Thank you all again for you help and suggestions. I'll check around and see if I can find a comparsion chart.

Hello Knowledgeable People.
I am looking for advise on home owners insurance. We've lived in the same house of 12 years and had the same home owners insurance for 12 years. Every year the insurance goes up about $100.00. This year it jumped up $200.00. We have never filed a claim.
Is there a quick easy way to find out if I can get a better home insurance deal without getting a hundred phone calls from agents trying to sell me their insurance?
I just want to see a list of what is offered and the cost...see my choices and be able to pick one. Without feeling pressured.
Is that possible?
Thanks,
lisa
well, an interesting thing happened today, here in southern california.
as i was sipping my morning coffee, i heard a distinct knocking on my door.
the front door was closed, so i didn't open it.
The last few times the JW's came to our house, they either knocked lightly enough that it didn't even alert the dog or didn't know at all. I only knew they had been there when a old magazine or memorial invite fell out of the door.
It's really sad to think the feel they HAVE to do this.

we've allow a little freedom for my jw mom to visit our daughter at lunch at the school since we're df'd now.
um, because we're idiots, maybe.
so my daughter tells me this evening that she was chatting with mom at lunch today and mentioned a birthday party she's attending this weekend.
"while it might please your friends, it's making Jehovah sad."
8yr old: yea, my friends are super stoked I'm gonna be there! I am the coolest kid ever.
(that's the kind of my thing my 8yr old g-daughter says to me)

i received this message from a jw on jwc@fe, after i asked some simple questions:"miss jada, every sentence or phrase in the bible can very easily be turned into a question.
it doesnt take much to raise questions.
even jesus himself left some questions unanswered.
"your saying too many things"
That made me laugh out loud. I'm sooo gonna use that phrase today.
