  Best South Park episode, cast your vote

  i have only been watching sp for the past year or so, so i'm sure there's a lot of episodes i haven't seen, and i'm obviously a little late getting on the bandwagon.

  but a couple of weekends ago they did a "25 most outrageous episodes" thing, and one of the episodes was where cartman had this j-lo hand puppet where he recorded songs and did some *ahem* other things involving ben affleck.

  i don't remember laughing at anything so hard in my life.. oh, and of course the episode with mr. hankey and his drunken, verbally abusive wife.. so what's your fave?

  JW SINGLES site shut down due to GUILT!

  hi folks.. i have been lurking on and off for about 2 years now and before i did post a couple threads under my old alias but it wont accept it for some reason so i had to re-join.. anyway there was a singles site called jwsingles.net by a nice fellow who wanted to help other lonely jw single folks meet but he is about to shut it down despite some success stories which i guess makes the elders upset.. i had joined two years ago and was on the mailing list(i,ve been inactive for about 5 years now)thats the short version,anyway,i got this e-mail from him the other day and it really infuriated me because he did nothing wrong but again the organization wants to control every aspect of their lives,including not letting jw,s put up harmless websites for singles to meet.after all in many many congregations there is a severe shortage of available singles right?and,if they dont even want you to look for a mate in their own organization (on the net) then they will look outside of the organization but i guess they are too dense to understand that.. his letter wreaks of guilt and he hangs his head in shame at congregations.i fail to see how he has stumbled others here.its none of others business what adult jw,s want to meet someone.. i understand the heartache of being all alone for many many years with no one and no suitable mates there as they were too stuffy and i felt like i could never match up no matter how hard i tried.i shed too many tears to count as im sure many here have as well.. anyway here is the e-mail.. greetings friends.. this will most likely be the last message you recieve from jw singles.net.. the site has been running for several years now with its main goal to help those of like faith find and if they wish contact each other.we,ve met that goal with several success stories.im very glad to say that an old friend of mine from a congregation in maryland met a wonderful sister from california.after months of phone calls and trips and bible studies over the phone,they were married.both are extremely happy with their new mates.. there are other stories the friends have shared when asking to have their profiles removed.. however i cannot continue to justify the site against the councel of the wbt society.i am tired of sinking in my seat at assemblies and conventions when they mention websites to avoid.it is also not my place to second guess the faithful and discreet salve and the connection they have with jehovahs spirit in guiding the organization in these last days.while i believe that with proper theocratic guidelines this site can be used ,like many have demonstrated to a good cause,i will not possibly stumble my brothers and sisters.. i have thought of selling the site to help recoup the expenses i incurred while developing and running the site ,but again i dont want the responsibility of passing it off to someone else,possibly a wordly company or person.. after the last paying members subscription has run out,i will open the full site with access to every member .this will be the last chance to try and contact some of the 2000 members we have.right now im targeting september as the final month the site will run.our information on the site will be deleted as the database of users is erased.if you care to make a donation of any size while the site is still open to everyone our paypal address is _________ or contact me for a mailing address.. thanks to all those who have tried to help and build the idea i had into a functioning and useful program.i wish you all well and continued strenght in this time of the end.all of the friends are tired and are struggling just to make it to meetings instead of staying home with a headache or working a little late.be upbuilding to each other ,help to show love amongst ourselves and continue to walk with god until the end.. agape.

  Where's a good area in Ohio to purchase a home?

  the missus and i are ready to pack up and get out of chicago for a few years, from the research we've done ohio seems like a nice place to consider.

  we're basically looking for an inexpensive area to buy a home in, (100-200k price range) suburban areas are preferrable.

  we both plan on taking off from fulltime for a couple of years, the first year we may not do anything outside of taking up a few classes.

  Update after talking to family services.

  i rang family services this afternoon.. the woman i spoke to was very helpful and honest.. firstly i told her i had rung because the person that abused my child had been seen by me pushing a toddler in a pram and by a friend of mine tickling and touching children at the meetings.

  i expressed how fearful i am for the children in the congo.. she wanted the pedos name, my name, my kid's name etc.

  she asked what he did to my kid and when i told her she said he was an abuser..........no kidding!

  How are you going to go about warning the other mother? Will you write her a letter, call her, or perhaps show up at her door?

  Will you show her anything else, like the Silent Lambs Site?

  If I was the other mother, I would want to know all you had to say, and would be eternelly grateful.

  i'm back on my folders and get serious again and got to thinking about my langage skills (or not) and also about my english cause i have friends i want to informe about it (in english).

  i'm speaking english since i don't even really know when (as we were talking english sometimes in belgium - and also got english programmes on tv there).

  Actually, it is often interesting to read the "mistakes" you have made. Sometimes, they end up sounding quite poetic, if not esoteric

  Why bother?

  Just like E., I was raised in the truth...And didn't even know very much about my own religion until I got online a couple years ago.

  The sister that comes to see me, knew NOTHING about the 1975 thingy. And when I showed her the UN Letter, she acted liked it had burned her hand, and starting saying it was all lies. She did say she would go back and see if she could find any information on the subject. Now that I think about it, I don't think she has been back since the letter incident, except to drop off mags, when I'm not home.

  I wish and hope someone does the same thing to my parents, sister, and brothers. Otherwise, they will continue on never knowing the truth. Heck, they may anyway, but at least I have hope.

  Today I saw my child's sexual abuser..........and the feelinds start.

  today has not been too good.

  yesterday, while i was in sydney for the day with a friend (to have a break and do a girlie shopping day)..............i received a phone call from my brother to inform me that a very special cousin of mine in italy had committed suicide.

  i was devastated, she was so special and we had been close.. so here i was driving back from sydney last night knowing a loved one was dead!

  How horrible. I hope you do go to the elder. Also, I hope you get a chance to tell the family with the child about him. It is not slander if it's the truth. Just because they wouldn't want to hear this kind of information about their new friend, doesn't mean that they don't need to know.

  I don't believe people like that change. Ever.

  weird that this subject should come up...I've had a sister coming over for the past two years. This past month, she's been standing me up. She knows nothing about my past envolvement with the JW's...or does she...

  Maybe I should give her a call. I know I've planted several seeds of doubt..

  I feel good

  after a couple of days away from the board and doing some hard thinking and contemplation about my life, and reading (though i'm not done yet and the conclusion may turn out to be a letdown) a fabulously insightful book called the courage to be, a funny thing has happened...i feel as sane, calm, and alive as i've felt in years, maybe ever.

  maybe this is a manic episode or something.

  probably not because i'm not really doing anything productive nor am i making any grandiose plans.

  WHAT???? I haven't met that part of you...maybe you should get into acting. The Dan I met was more like

  sane, calm, and alive
