  so today was my first sunday meeting that i didn't go with my wife.

  as an update she has decided not to move out right now...because she doesn't have anywhere to go.

  but she is giving me the silent treatment.

  I agree, be honest with your child that going to the meetings is not longer something YOU want to do. Tell him what you will be doing instead, maybe he'll want to join you.

  I have two children, they left JW's when I did. They were 4 and 9.

  Question about an elder visit at home...

  last meeting my father was asked what a good day/time would be for the whole family to be present at home by one of the elders.

  i haven't exactly been behaving within jw 'standards' so i'm a bit paranoid (sn ;]) a friend suggested it's probably just the visits they do (forget the name in eng.

  ) and as our co visit is in about 2 weeks it makes sense.... could they possibly be coming to confront me about my actions though?

  I think I was probably 17-18 and an elder showed up at my parents house to talk to me. Might parents might have planned it out, I'm not sure....but, I was soooo stoned it was surreal.

  Then Mary was imperfect which meant Jesus was imperfect.... it always sounded like BS to me thank you cantleave glad someone else sees this.

  I never thought about it that way. I thought Mary was Jesus' surrogate mother.

  I remember back in the day..when I first came here.

  I would get little beads of sweat and would feel dizzy and a little sick.

  I got up in the middle of the night and logged in while everyone else slept.

  I felt fear and guilt. Thankfully both passed rather quickly.

  how do i make a long story short?

  i am fully aware that if anyone in my area were to read this that they will know who i am.

  i was disfellowshipped on january 28th 2010 after an "interview" about an evening of bowling with friends and family back in november 2009. i was among 4 who were disfellowshipped and 6 who were publicly reproved.

  I am not even sure if I want this for my kids anymore. Heaven forbid that they do anything that would require an elder's meeting. I would not allow it to happen. I know that for a fact. My kids will NEVER face this kind of unmerciful treatment

  I'm so glad you feel this way. I was DF'd. sat for nearly a year in the back of the KH. My kids didn't have any friends at the KH because of my DFing. That was when I said enough is enough. They were NOT going to make my kids feel the way I was feelling. My children are now 26 and 30. They barely remember going to the KH. My parents decided to shun me, and have for the past 20+ years.
