Your Baptism

we have been going through our literature and throwing away a lot of it which feels great.

my hubby came cross the program from my baptism in 1986. the divine peace dc held in the astrodome in houston, tx.

he always wrote the attendance and the amount baptized so on that day there were 30,894 in attendance nd 531 baptized!

Info about my Baptism does take me back. I did it once for all time. Have not seen any need to do it again. This does take me back in time.

I wanted to be baptized at the "Triumphant Kingdom" Assembly at Comiskey Park in Chicago in June 24, 1955, but the people I went with to the assembly did not make it to the morning session when the baptism talk was given. I was only 12 and could not drive myself. Ha Ha or now a days LOL...I had to wait till the Circuit Assembly at Battle Creek, Michigan, on October 29, 1955. The Talk was given by R. E. Gilbert, the Circuit Servant and I said YES to the two questions asked. D. E. Stull was the District Servant for the assembly. The year before in 1954 C. W. Barber was our District Servant, he went a long ways after those days of travel.

In 1955 we were less than 20 years to the "New World". I was a kid in 1955. In 2013 I am an older man. I still hold fast. I gave my life and soul to do God's will, some days I do OK and some days I fail. I put my trust in Jehovah and his son Jesus. I hold fast to what is true. I keep my friendships with those who holdfast to what is fine. I was out for some years and I have come back some. Life is a road we travel with our God and he lights the way. Red is grey and Yellow white...we must decide what is right and what is an ...........

When were Judge Rutherford's books discontinued by The Watchtower?

judge rutherford wrote a good number of books and booklets that were published a distributed by the watchtower from about 1919 to 1942.. the man died in 1942.. does anyone when the watchtower stopped printing and distributing rutherford's books?.

i have a hunch that soon after knorr took charge of the watchtower, rutherford's books were immediately replaced by books authored by anonymous, corporate wt authors.. the 1942 children book, called "the lord's provided instrument", probably wasn't distributed for more than a year after it was released!.

anyone know exactly when rutherford's books were dropped by the wt?.

The article was written by Marie Gilbert of The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown and pick up by AP 12-25-11. To quote on line it says

"The dogs are part of a program that gives the gift of life to an injured or sick animal. They are blood donors."

The source line also says Today.com

This is info I have never heard about. I wonder how the WT would answer in the Questions from readers? The dog would be

disfellowship.

Thank you WTWizard for the info. There is little info anymore on some to the matters. The rules seem to change at the will of the Service Dept. You can get rehab at the YMCA if your doctor says you need heart rehab and the YMCA is the only place nearby for such care. It still means that anyone still a JW will have to keep quite anything of questionable action. Don't ask any questions from the Elders or others or they will ask more questions from you... Zadok 777

SMOKING

due to health reasons (cost of a pack as well) i've gotta stop smoking....terry suggested smokless cigeretts.

what's a good way to stop?

i have managed to cut down to less than 10 a day, but have got to stop period.

Quentin-By what ever means STOP today. I smoked for over 20 years and just could not stop. Yes, got disfellowshipped. But stilled smoked, up to over 3 pack a day. I tried to cut back, but the body need the fix about every 40 minutes. I tried the gum, the patch, rubber band shock effect. Even when the job band smoking inside, I was able to work outside and could not stop. One time I stopped for 21 days but returned...Yes I like to smoke...It gave the UP when up was needed and the DOWN when down was wanted, but the bad breath, tooth and mouth problems, burned clothing, ash trays, and drinking all was a down hill slide toward a very bad outcome. HOW DID I STOP? No great revelation, but to me it was STOP or DIE. The day I had my heart attack was the day I stopped. It is now 15 years. Life is worth living. The WBTS likes to say we are already death in God's eyes. They are not our judge. The best to you Quentin. I hope you can find it in yourself to stop. It is a fight only you can fight. food was passed from one side and if you were #10 you may not get too much to eat!

In memory of Ray Franz and his help for many of us I will alway have a good feelings of my meeting Ray in the Factory and teaching him my job. For 2 days I worked with Ray until he moved on the next job in the factory. This was in the 60's, and he was attending the 10 month school in Brooklyn. At that time many Branch Servants were Brooklyn for special training...I was shocked when I heard he left Bethel and was disfellowshiped...I came to understand...When I read CoC and the Search book...Everything said these last few day only speaks of how he cared for people and his steadfastness for Jehovah God and what was right. We will remember such men...

Mann377...We all have beans we can spill...The factory was hot in the summer...Plate making and Linotype on the 7th floor was Hot...Ink room on 5 was hot...Bindrey on 4 on the sewing machines or the packers was hot...The roller of magazines in the Sands building was hot...Oh now I remember there was no air anywhere so it was hot...Every go to the roof in stead of going back for lunch to get some sun so we can tan a little. So when we went back home on vacation we had a little color...
