LOL, this book will explain it all:

i was listening to beyond belief yesterday, a radio 4 programme that treats religious ideas as worthy of consideration and discussion.
yesterday they were talking about belief in the afterlife.
they mentioned something i'd never heard of before.
Yeah, but what about this guy?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikolai_Fyodorovich_Fyodorov
He believed that people could live forever and the dead could be resurrected.
C. T. Russell jumped onto a very popular bandwagon; complete with ideas that seemed plausible in his
from when a jw, it was at least always told to me how catholics took on christmas, and all the other pagan celebrations etc.
recently i met a russian who said they are catholic and in russia they don't really celebrate christmas.
it's more an american thing and that new years is the bigger deal and the closest thing to christmas to them is something on like jan 7th.
LOL, you do realise that everything you want to know is at Wikipedia?
The Russkies didn't celebrate Christmas when they were commies, so that might explain something there.
But who really cares what its origins are? Only a sicko dead-beat r would ban Christmas, lol.
it has just turned 12 o'clock in n.s.w, australia, is i am just saying merry christmas to all you on the forum & i hope you all happy a happy new year.
big hugs all round.
sabin.
Merry Christmas you crazy mofos!
Ho ho ho.
TH68 in the land of Oxz.
how far / deep was your research on the origins of the bible or religions or most importantly the concepts (heaven -gods - immortality-etc)today many millions of people believe as the truth?.
why did these concepts existed ?.
why so many people today still believe in these concepts ?.
we are having weekly terror attacks.
you cant just keep carpet bombing as little ground has been won against issi's in one year.
they are making millions from oil and farming.
LOL. Syria is a media black hole- it's impossible to know what is really happening there, and we are just being fed propaganda. But as I see it, the West needs ISIL - they are the only ones who can stop an alliance of Assad, Hezbollah,Iran & Russia from controlling a huge portion of the Middle East; and controlling oil production, and so prices. Ask yourself, who does ISIL sell it's oil to? It's going to our ally and NATO partner Turkey, who are allowing arms to be shipped to ISIL in return. It's a fake war- put on by Western politicians to increase their own popularity. In a year or two ISIL will change their name like the PLO did, and we will all love them. This war is a scam and will make the West look very foolish, especially as all this chaos was started by George W's ill-advised invasion of Iraq in 2003. ISIL in Iraq are the Sunni ex-Ba'ath party army, who were dismissed without pay by Paul Bremer. ISIL is just an ideology - it can't be beaten militarily anyway.
Well, that's my opinion,
most religions indoctrinate a standard sexual 'morality' into their followers.
sex before marriage is wrong, gay sex is wrong, same sex marriage is wrong, masturbation is wrong.. let's not turn this into another religion bashing thread (too easy), i was wondering how much of that pre-packaged thinking you still hold to?.
i still value marriage, more than ever.
it's been a minute since i was here.
question?
what to do with old books and magazines?
The old JW books from the 40's are really worth reading- hard to believe, but it's true, lol. I bought one and read it a couple of years ago, and it made me happy as I was finally able to see a pattern in the JW beliefs- how it all seems to make sense at the time; but 10 or 20 years later it's no longer relevant or even possible- so it all keeps changing. The PDF's are great, but there's nothing like the real thing, lol.
i'm thinking about trying out a new hobby.
in my country there are plenty of places that are geologically suitable for the presence of gold nuggets.
in fact, several gold mines have been historically explored from the days of the romans until present day.. at the same time, i love archaeology and history and there are many possible unexplored archaeological sites near me that might merit a superficial survey.
Just do it. Detecting for coins, jewelery etc. is a strange hobby- it doesn't depend on equipment so much as location & local knowledge. So you can get into the game for about $70 or so, and recoup your money in a short time if you're lucky. Start in your backyard, and go from there... beaches, parks, old ruins, vacant lots... just amazing what you can find.
You do have to be a little bit mad to enjoy it though...
do you check this site, daily?.
do you post very much?.
.
I like to check in once a day to see if there is anyone I can stumble, lol.
