Stopped Dead Again.
by truthseeker1969 inas many of you are aware my brother who is an elder, shared with me another "shut this down moment" in a jc.
a brother who was to go before another body of elders told them that since they had contacted his former congregation they had lost their ecclesiastical privelege and that information they had is now subject to the data protection law including records etc.
when he was told he could not take notes he told the elders the same that they had to abide by the same non scriptural mandate.. apparently it was enough to shut the proceedings down until they called the "mother ship" for instructions.. they were told not to proceed with anything at this time until they got back to the elders.. my brother who hates jc totally said that more and more they are finding people quoting the law to them and the elders are backing off, not sure about the us where they can do anything they please but in the uk the dpa has really messed things up for the society.

LOL I like Handi-man the best! The WTS is handicapped, and despite what they believe, they have no super powers.

(And to think, even though I love him, I almost said Batman. He has no super powers either, but he is not handicapped. )

Why Elders leave the Organization and why their Wives stay.
by stuckinamovement ini have talked to quite a few brothers who have served as elders and servants and left the organization.
in most cases their wives have remained in despite the husbands best efforts to persuade his wife that the organization is wrong.
even though the wife can see problems within they continue to press on in service to the society.

SIAM, you hit the bullseye with this one. There are aspects of the org a woman will never experience, NEVER. She can only hear and talk about it, perhaps because of what her husband relayed to her.
While that has softened my wife's stance towards my feelings, she still feels this is the truth and is struggling to do the "right thing".
Anything I've said to her about my experiences has brought her to think, and often agree, but not enough to cause her to leave "the truth".
I can only be hopeful for the future. At least my wife is pretty laid back, which has made it better for me.
Either way, thanks for a great thread.

Great fun about new magazine simplyfying
by Gorbatchov inyesterday i read about the new watchtower & awake magazine simplyfying (15 pages) on jwd and i got a very big big simle at my face.
(yes, the face is big also...).
because: the simplyfying is based on a new strategy: using internet (jw.org) for distributing the magazine content.. the big smile came from this: at a recent co visit, the co told the congretation the following: "everyone of us who suggests that our magazines and litterature has to be distributed by internet is a potential apostate and against the will of jehovah.

NC, I was going to resurrect this thread after reading your 'they want to stop by and talk' thread.
But I see it's been done already. I got curious and wanted to know your background, as I didn't recall reading it before. Boy did I miss a good one! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED your recounting the events that led to present day for you.
You really got me thinking. And can I just say - I think you're awesome! Thanks for sharing.

Is the Watchtower blood guilty?. See what some elders have to say.
by blond-moment inthis jc is worth listening to, in my opinion he has the elders against the ropes most of discussion.. if you are only going to listen to one, this one is the money shot, this is the one i wish those curious about jw could hear.

Crisis of Conscience
Mine is from Ray Franz's book "Crisis of Conscience".
It described perfectly how I felt mentally when I found out the truth about the truth and knew I couldn't just discuss it with anybody.
After all, where else would I go?

Those on JWN still serving as elders...What if?
by Kensho inapostates undercover elders (i know there are some professed elders on here) have you ever handled a jc envoling a publisher viewing sites like jwn or others and who question the gb etc.. and if not what if you were assigned a jc involving apostacy?.
i would think this would be almost, if not an impossible situation.. kensho.

Happiest sadness I've ever felt
by BreathoftheIndianNose inwow, so far 4 out of 4 "worldly" people i've talked to about my situation, actually care.
i mean ive been telling myself that most people would care.
but i can just tell, by the way i feel shocked and surprised at their genuine interest to listen and help, that subconsciously, i still feel like no worldly person cares.
