Wikipedia states who the translators were too. And their education, or rather their lack of education.

Revealing the wt "translators" now that gb are all over the place?
by carla inback when me & my jw were still discussing anything jw related we had numerous discussions about just who the translators of the wt's bible were.
(i knew, thanks to this site and others like it) the answer was usually something to the effect that they (the wt) didn't want to give 'honor' to mere men by revealing who they were and what their education was.
now that the gb are all over the place, youtube, etc... why not reveal the 'translators' and their educational background?

My husband went through a very bad time this spring. He was depressed, suicidal, and unable to work for about 2 months. A book called The Mood Cure helped immensely! There is a test that helps you determine if you're just blue, have bad depression, or maybe a seasonal sort of thing. It explains the need for healthy fats in our diet to help produce serotonin. Also, there are many amino acids that help your body produce serotonin, dopamine, etc. without the side affects that medicines will give you. Sorry, it's been a while since I read this, so I forget the particulars. You take the needed amino acids, and when your body has enough, your don't take them unless another stressful period in your life makes you need them again.
My husband also deals with alcohol addiction, and it explains how they help with that. He was under such intense stress from work, that his body finally gave out. A better diet rich with healthy fats, and the supplements helped him get better. He also exercised and went to 3 to 4 AA meetings a day. His adrenals were tapped out from dealing with the stress, he developed hypoglycemia. That is ok now. You can read about the book on Amazon, it really is fantastic. He did try Wellbutrin, which made it worse.
Just my 2 cents.

You're very lucky, yes I say lucky now, to have the wisdom of this board. I found it too late. I was looking for some sort of comfort from the fact that I was getting df'd. I did discover TTATT, which does help, but wish I could have just faded and kept my family. But things are good now, I've grown alot. It's definitely a process. Now I've started reading the Bible without the shadow of the WT telling me what I'm reading. I accepted everything I was told. If I didn't understand it, I just wasn't studying hard enough. Not anymore!

Witnessing by Mail - Where Do They Get the Addresses From???
by AudeSapere in.
i'm wondering where the publishers get their address lists when they do 'witnessing-by-mail'.. i live in a gated community (moved here 6-years ago).
this week i received a letter addressed to my *parents* (mr. & mrs. xxxxxxx xxxxx) who have been divorced for 17 years and neither of whom have *ever* lived at this address.. i'm thinking the "mr & mrs" part is just an assumption on their part.. from time to time i get mail address to my father (blue cross solicitations, etc), but he has never used my address as his own and has never lived here.. any suggestions as to just how the local cong would get his name and my address on their mailing list??????.

When I was pioneering, we'd go to the post office and get the Bressers book. You could look up addresses by street. It would give the address and name. It came out every year I think. I think the Mr. and Mrs. part was probably an assumption, no connection to your parents. This is going back a few years, not sure if that's how they do it now.

I hate JW jargon!!! (Alternatives please!)
by VampireDCLXV inall of us who have any ties to the jws know that they have their own vernacular, their own slang.
sure, there are formal titles that we can't really get away from: pioneer, ministerial servant, elder, ______ overseer, governing body, the (watchtower) society, etc.
but there are plenty of other bits of parlance they use that i can do without.... for example:.

Ultimately, Are You Happy That The "Truth" Is Nonexistent?
by minimus inunless you're still searching for "the truth", are you happy to know this "truth" is not even out there?.

Very! I feel very free, not without sadness for my family still in and not associating with me and believing the lies, but I'm very happy. I wish I could have done some things different growing up in "the truth", like college, school activities, etc., but I was still raised with good morals and in a healthy way. I won't let being duped for so long make me unhappy, I'm free now!

If I'm wearing brown, they're brown. If I'm wearing blue, they're brown. When I'm wearing green, they're brown. Pretty much...brown!

So sorry to hear about your son, hope he gets well soon. It's so important to have someone speak for you in a situation like this, he has you to do that for him. Also sorry to you and the others on the board who have experienced the shunning of their children. I experience it for myself, but it must be worse to have your own children shunned. Hugs to all of you!
