  Interesting, I have skipped through and watchted parts. At this point in the video it shows how superstitions can be developed and then Richard Dawkins relates this to religion.

  i came across this video on youtube.. a "special report" obviously made by a jw but seemingly with full support of the convention overseers.. it is long, i haven't watched the full production, what i found interesting is how theatrical they got for these things.

  dressing up in blue jeans and cowboy hats, putting on stereotypical (in any other setting jw's would call this being part of the world) cowboy-like personas ... it is quite theatrical and staged .... a bus is brought in led by a "cowboy" leaning out of a golf cart waving his hat like its a roundup, a cowboy greeter gives an obvious big hearty texas handshake ... they take on the appearance of the world when it is fun for them but condemn the average jdub at other times for doing it.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ioych9mady.

  "National Garments" ... yeah, I guess they do what they can to hype it up and make it fun, but they are costume parties, try dressing like that at any other convention ... in the UK do the sisters wear Victorian gowns with plunging necklines and the brothers top hats or powdered wigs, perhaps a coat of armour?

  It would be interesting to see brothers and sisters from New Guinea arriving, men wearing their traditional penis sheath and women in grass skirts and topless.

  New method of appointing Regular Pioneers!

  a new arrangement for appointing regular pioneers has been announced.. in the past, a person would have to fill in a form from the society, this would have to be approved by the local elders, then this would be sent to the branch for final approval and appointment.. now it is just the local elders that approve it.

  it doesn't need the branch approval any more.. they are selling it as a way to "speed up the process in order to be more effective in the ministry during these urgent times blah blah".

  The Organization prides itself on being "cautious as serpents yet innocent as doves" (Matt 10:16) ... the Bible was written for them and about them don't ya know

  They don't lie, they cunningly change the focus of the question and give truthful partial answers. It's why they hate ex-JW's, we call them on the BS and hold them to the original question, then they call us Apostates and refuse to have dialogue ... what does Oubliette say ... oh yeah, it's a CULT!

  the wt study for sept 7th just breeds such a spirit of paranoia!.

  using old biblical references just so as to prevent anyone from using critical thinking skills and analysing the "truth".. then using incorrect, leading reasoning to paint any who "think outside of the box" of the org as "apostate".... pure manipulation!.

  Oubliette: writers of the WT publications are very skillful manipulators

  So true. This harsh reality helped me to finally get over the optimism that I held onto for a while after learning TTATT. When you see accounts again and again of deliberate manipulation it removes any doubt of their being innocent of knowingly continuing the charade.

  while you are sitting there reading this, there are literally hundreds of thousands of young males and females all over the world [ mostly in america / canada and england] sitting in their grotty little smelly bedrooms or flats, designing computer viruses that they will up-load onto web-sites to cause anonymous innocent peoples computers to malfunction.

  these creeps spend literally weeks,months or even years hoping to make a computer viruses that will get into peoples computer bios to completely destroy their computers.

  they never see the peoples anger, frustration and distress.... the damage can cost each person about 1,000 [ $1,660.74 ] or more to replace a basic new laptop or tower.

  Yes, I read the entire post ... I still think this Sparks is pulling a prank here. Perhaps to try and get JW lurkers to see how idiotic they can be, perhaps just for his own personal amusement ... or maybe he really was assimilated back into the BORG ... ??   Obviously, Watchtower is run by attorneys.

  Perhaps it is their way of incorporating Rev 22:19 to their intellectual property.

  It is God's Organization after all, and He isn't one te be mocked, so, I suppose we could expect His website to have warnings about punishment for misusing it.
