How many different books have been published by the watchtower society?
by outlander ini know there has been a lot, but does anyone actually have any idea?
to make it easier, lets omit books published before say 1960. that gives 50 years worth of books.
i wonder how many books it takes to teach the word of god door to door, and how many just find new ways to say the same things?

In view of the short time left ....
by wannabefree in*** w69 5/15 p. 312 have you been studying for six months?
in view of the short time left in which to do their work, jehovah's witnesses do not continue to study the bible with any who fail to respond to its.

bennyk: That one is a gem too, I was looking at Leolaia's comment with an image of a collage about 1975 stuff and it had one similar to the 1969 Awake that you quote, perhaps it was from a KM that is no longer on Watchtower Library.

I was looking for the article that advised against secular education and found that one ... hmmm, 41 years later, I guess they had time to wait on those students after all.

*** w69 5/15 p. 312 Have You Been Studying for Six Months? ***
In view of the short time left in which to do their work, Jehovah's witnesses do not continue to study the Bible with any who fail to respond to its
urgent message within six months. The nearness of this system's end compels them to use their time in the most effective way possible. So they
feel obligated to spend their time calling on someone else who might respond by attending meetings at the Kingdom Hall and by speaking to
others about the Bible truths learned. Thus it may be that if you have not as yet responded by even becoming a regular attender at some of the
congregation meetings, the one who is studying the Bible with you may cancel that study arrangement in order to give his time to someone else.
This arrangement is not meant to be harsh, but the urgency of the times in which we live demands it. There are millions of persons who need
spiritual help and God's servants want to reach all they possibly can.

I use, "honey" and "sweetie" alot. It's almost like I remember their names.
I always thought that meant I had a special place in their heart ... I'm shattered ...

An outside source from 1969 regarding the 1975 teaching!
by lepermessiah ini have posted on here a couple of times that i am reading alan rogerson's excellent book entitled "millions now living will never die.".
this book was published in 1969. notice what mr. rogerson (a non-jw) observed in his research.. .
jehovah's witnesses do not expect the literal destruction of the.

Yes, but of course you realize that with the brighter light divinely bestowed upon the Faithful and Discreet Slave (as represented by the Governing Body of Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, Inc.), Jehovah's Witnesses came to realize that the creative days didn't end until Eve was created, and, well, we just don't know when that was. Evidently (I'm really loving to use that word), Adam was without a wife for at least 35 years, which is still well within the infancy of the new definition of a generation. Be patient my friend.

Anyone look at this board while still an IN and ACTIVE JW?
by Mad Sweeney ini vaguely remember looking at this board a few years ago, before i ever considered leaving the borg, and being appalled at the evil and hateful attitudes i saw here and scared to death of reading any further.. now i go back through years and years of posts and there is no evil or hate there at all.
it's one of the most kind and welcoming boards i've encountered since the invention of the internet.. that is how well borg indoctrination works.
it is eerily like 1984. black is white.

Mad Sweeney: my experience with this board is very similar to yours ... happened upon it doing a Google search a few years back, I think during the beginning of Silent Lambs info, looked around, found out it was a bunch of wicked apostates and got out as fast as I could!

Adherence to FALSE TEACHINGS required of Jehovah's people: Scottish Court Case transcripts confirm
by Terry inin 1954 a controversial court case, douglas walsh vs. the right honorable james latham clyde, m.p.c.
was held in scotland to determine.
if jehovah's witnesses should be exempt from military service and granted status as "ordained ministers".. what is of outstanding interest is that testimony in this trial is extraordinarily revealing.

About the miraculous signs referred to by Elswhere ... I have wondered about this and have asked a few over the years ... "do you think members of the FDS tried back in the beginning to do these things? I mean, wouldn't you think they would have at least tried?"
And, I think some must have tried, but EVIDENTLY, it only applied to first century Christians.
