  "The Truth"

  I remember hating hearing that term before I became a witness. It irritated me. Then I became assimilated. Now it drives me nuts again.

  Anyone get divorced because of differing beliefs?

  lately my husband has been miserable, but isn't talking.

  he is really upset that he is "stuck with me" now that he knows i question my beliefs.

  i thought we could explore the bible together and i hoped he would come to the same conclusion as me, but he won't do that.

  I have made my doubts known to my wife. I can tell it is going to be difficult when I make the leap. She is already treating me differently even though I am at present putting up the front. She already visions herself as the poor alone sister with the apostate husband not caring about the spirituality of the family, no witness social life, crying and alone at the kingdom hall. I wonder if she is already looking for a replacement? Doesn't the Borg allow spiritual endangerment as grounds for divorce ... or is that only justification for separation?

  Do JHW teach about the blood of Jesus and what it did ?

  i am sorry for maybe starting new thread on the most important topic, but i couldn't find them here to bring them up again or read through the thread if any.. .

  i started the thread on grace and was almost shock to death about the fact that the jhw don't teach on grace.. now if they don't teach on the blood of jesus in concepts and in contexts of the bible i will really know satan himself is the author and finisher of the jhw whole society and it is from the pits of hell.. i thought it was formed on misunderstandings and error based on many religious men but i am starting to see a deeper truth about the jhw who must go door to door and decieve innocent people, to brain wash them into a hell bound society, with people going to hell with a bible in their hand.. so can people here give me information about the teaching of the blood of jesus is if they do teach this what do they reach about the blood of jesus which has washed away all our sins??.

  does it wash all our sins away rather than getting water baptized??.

  I have to say, as a Kingdom Hall attending baptized witness who has come to recognize the faith is not the "Truth", most answers to evangelist's questions are not completely reflective of what Witnesses believe.

  Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe theirs is the only acceptable Bible translation, they don't believe the shed blood of Jesus applies only to the 144,000, these are answers that are not in context. Right or wrong in what they teach, the answers are much more compicated than what is presented here.

  i started reading sign of the last days by carl oloff johnson this week.

  i am almost to page 50 right now, and have finished the section on world famines.

  wow - he really deconstructs the idea of whether famines have increased or decreased over the past 2,000 years.

  Is the GB setting up to dump 1914?

  with the "generation change" and them changing it all the time it would make sence to dump it all togeather.. lets face it ,it can be disproved easly.. they dumped 1975 in a heart beat .. this would buy them all the time they wanted as they would just find another date to start the generation from ie: "the u.n year of peace and sercurty'',1986 i belive or whatever else they could think of.. they could sell it to the r&f as easly as they sold 1975,then dumped it when it did'nt happen .. anyone questioning them would be told they are running ahead of jehovah or lacking faith in his earthly org that feeds us food at the proper time .. what do you think?.

  The further past 1914 you get, the less (I think) it matters to successive generations. Sure, you would lose a small crowd perhaps, but there would always be those who say ... "oh, I see, that makes more sense".

  Consider the generation, all those who keep saying that it makes more sense now, they aren't giving up on the organization, cuz afterall, it is God's organization, the give up on the old understanding out of necessity and accept the new one, cuz obviously in 2010 it no longer makes sense for a generation to be 30 or 40 years or 70 or 80 years.

  it show a man holding a cd and it says that you have to buy the original one because it's immoral to use copied programmes,movies,games etc.tell me one jw who is not immoral when it come's to this because i don't know anyone..

  can you be df'd for atheism?

  if you only tell the elders that you don't believe in god, and as a result will be decreasing your activity, will they reprove you and/or df you if you aren't repentant over time?

  pretend that you aren't telling them anything about your feelings regarding the organization or governing body.

  The elders do not police your thoughts, unless you make them known. Making known or promoting your thoughts to others is called ... causing division ... this is what you could be disfellowshipped for.

  I think the 1914 generation matters less and less with new ones. I noticed that with my own children. I think the majority of new witnesses are children raised by witnesses and for the most part believe it is just a religion ... the only true one ... they are raised to believe that without any teaching of religious history or understanding really of 1914 and 1918, they just accept it. How many baptized in western lands are fresh converts? From recent assemblies and conventions that I have attended I would guess over 90% are children of witnesses.

  Thats what scares me with my own kids. When trying to introduce thoughts to them recently it seems it just doesn't matter. They know all of the good things and teachings that seem to make sense and I have to try and somehow teach them the history and why it matters without alarming them (which has been hard, my wife and children are alarmed by me).
