I will on my own, like I did last year. Plus, I don't believe that the celebration of Christ's sacrifice should be done only once a year. I don't do it as much as I should, but I do my own worship on occasion.

More Partaking at Memorial, Could It Be the Elderly?

the memorial partakers keep going up and up each year.
there are obvious reasons for this and the wt, feeling the embarassment and threat to the 144,000 doctrine has addressed it in the publications.. but i was thinking back on an odd situation that happened with two older, long time, faithful jws.

Does Genesis 19 condemn Homosexuality?

there are a few scriptures that you can pull up and try to make a case for show homosexuals why they are evil and wrong.. i've been researching more of these scriptures and i'm coming to some very different conclusions than many other christians hold, especially jws.
i wanted to talk about the first text used by many people to condemn homosexual behaviour.

It is disingenuous to say that the city was destroyed because of lack of hospitality.
I am not being disingenuous in any way. As was already brought by myself and someone else on this thread, just read Ezekial 16:49,50. It says:
"Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good."
Nowhere does it talk about homosexuality as being the sin in either Genesis or Ezekial. So then, how can you call this argument disingenuous and then say that it is implied that they were killed because of homosexuality? It seems to me like THAT is the twisted and faulty argument.

How do you view the people you left behind?

I was just talking to Ding about this today. And I feel, as he does. When I go to the hall or drive by a kingdom hall, or see people out in service, I have an overwhelming amount of sadness. There are a lot of really good people in this organization. And it is so sad that they are trapped in that cage.
I am not angry, because I have not been burned by the organization. But I could understand why people would be angry. But Ding used such a good illustration today. He was talking about a friend that he has that is totally blind. This guy can look directly into the sun with his eyes open and still not see a thing. He can feel the warmth, but he is blind to the real light.
Isn't that how Jehovah's Witnesses are? They have the light of God's Word, but they are blind. They can't see that they belong to an organization that is a complete fraud. When Jesus looked at the crowds of people following him that did not know him, he had pity for them. The word used for pity in greek is quite different from the meaning of the word pity that we use today. Jesus did not only feel sorry for them. He had intense love for them. He saw that they were in a horrible situation. They were being thrown around by the Pharisees and mistreated. JWs today are the same. They are being abused and mistreated by the Watchtower.
So instead of hating them and viewing them as narsisitic, self righteous know-it-alls, we should have pity on them and desire to bring them to the true light.
John 8:12 - "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

First of all, divine Revelation has ceased. Also, if it hadn't ceased then I would examine what you had to say, and see if it could be demonstrated to be the word of god. So, no circular reasoning. The fact is, divine revelation ended with the apostles. The divine record is closed. So if you claim inspiration from the Holy Spirit, I don't even need to examine what you have to say.

All this proves is that Jehovah is wicked.
Actually you could not be more wrong. This is a written account of history. Not an account of God commanding these things to happen. He didn't tell Lot to offer his daughters.
