  My Mother-In-Law is seeing the light!

  i posted this on another thread because i was unable to start a new one, but now i can.

  here is the post:.

  i have been corresponding with my mil as many of you know.

  We have been talking just about every day about the organization.

  So BIG news. She told my wife about the 2/15 WT about likening the df'd to demons. When we talked later she said, "(brotherdan'swife) is much farther along than you think. I told her about the 2/15 WT and she said, "That is just plain cruel of the Watchtower". I think she is on the edge here. We have to be delicate in this situation. I think she's going to realize the truth about the organization very soon now!"

  I couldn't believe it! I knew that I wouldn't be the one to help my wife, but I knew the spirit would use SOMEONE. Never would've thought it would be my MIL.

  So I'm taking things slow. My MIL is getting more fed up with the organization by the day. She told my wife that she is just going to get reinstated so she can talk to her other daughters, and then fade. My wife said, "That sounds fine to me." Can't believe it....

  The problem is that I see her faith leaving too. Damn the Watchtower for what they do to people's faith. I've seen it here, and I see it in my MIL. She has this huge hole in her life now. Anytime I bring up faith in Jesus, she doesn't really comment. I think doctrinally she still is stuck in the WT mind set in many regards.

  Any Christians that are reading this, please pray for my wife and mother-in-law that they will see the light of Christ.

  If Armageddon came tomorrow, would Jehovah kill a billion children?

  i just looked up some population statistics.

  i saw there are over a billion children under the age of 10 on the earth today.

  (didn't research too hard - just googled it.

  not to endanger the incredibly fragile faith of the chosen people.

  It was not the message of love that was fragile, but the faith of the people. And how sad that was. It really is a tragedy.And it is a tragedy that continues today in Judaism. They still reject Christ.

  Also, the enemies of God WERE always warned before they were attacked. There was always an opportunity for them to come to faith in the trut God. There are examples of this in the OT. Rahab was a part of a nation that was scheduled to be destroyed. She had faith and was saved. So too the Gibeonites knew that God was going to bring their nation to destruction. So they came to Joshua and attached themselves to him to be saved.

  There was always a way out. But it REQUIRED them coming to God for salvation. Same for today.

  It is amazing that god's perfect judgement could be perfectly applied to an entire region, not allowing for any within that region to be saved.

  Sort of sobering for us today, huh? That may just show that there was no one that was willing to be saved in that nation. Like I said, we don't have enough information to judge our perfect God. Why try? God knows the hearts of all. He knows what would happen if the entire nation was not destroyed. And you know, some of the Israellites had the same thought and did not devote everything to destruction. Do you know what happened? They fell to idolatry and false worship again and again.

  Maybe God's way was the best way after all!

  i have been amazed time again at what i find simply reading the bible, free of jw footnotes.

  recently i read the first five or six chapters of john's gospel and found some things that stood out.

  of course i'm sure i'm not the first, second or one hundreth to note this, but its all part of the process .

  I would take it a step further and say we were never lost.

  I wouldn't go that far ProdigalSon. Remember 1John makes a very clear distinction between those that are guided by the Spirit and those that are not.

  1John 4:2,3 -

  This is how you can recognise the Spirit of God: Every spirit
  that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is
  from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from
  God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard
  is coming and even now is already in the world.

  i was listening to this talk, and he sounds really bitter and dry.

  there is some humorous experiences (he laughs a lot) at the beginnging of it, then.

  he starts to talk about apostates, sensationalism .

  At 38:50 it sounds like he's saying that Jesus too said he was a good for nothing slave... Sort of shows the view of the GB against Jesus.

  When he starts talking about the child abuse, that's where it gets sick. He says that they hate child abuse then says "BUT we hold to the scriptures, and frankly there have been some fine men that have been falsely accused. But because we went by the scriptures they were proven innocent." What a way to justify!

  Notice at around the 28:00 mark he talks about reading about someone on an apostate site that says they are trying to "hang on" so that they can help others to see the truth.

  I've been promising myself not to get angry...but I am livid after listening to this talk. It's sick. I just can't express how sick I feel over this talk. I'm not sick over sensationalist apostate material. I am sick over the lies of this GB member.

  Then he talks about Satan being the Father of the apostates. I read that Satan was the father of the lie. Sounds like he doesn't know his own father.

  A Christian's entire hope rests on his or her DEATH.

  And where is your hope? Actually a Christians hope is not entirely in death. If the accepted interpretation of 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 is correct, the body of Christ that is alive when He comes will not suffer death in the normal sense.
  
  "Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have not hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.   the Chrisitian message remains...children are better off dead.

  That is not the Christian message. Matthew 19:14 gives a direct message to children: " Jesus said, "Don't stop children from coming to me! Children like these are part of the kingdom of God."

  If you don't understand the Bible, then you won't understand the difference between the OT and the NT. They are completely different parts of God's plan.

  Although this may seem appalling to consider it is God's right to bring judgment on whom He desires, when He desires, through whom He desires, in the manner that He desires. Man simply does not have all of the knowledge required to judge God on this issue. The amazing thing is that God was as long suffering with sinful people as He was.

  It is also true that the nations God commanded Israel to destroy (i.e. Amorite, Canaanites, Midianites) had enticed Israel to sin. God desired to put an end to Idolatry. What better way to eliminate Idolatry than to completely destroy the entire Nation responsible?
  
  Women and children were part of God's judgment in order to completely destroy the influence and Idolatry of the foreign nation.
  
  Although Israel returned to Idolatry time and time again, the Nations judged by God were responsible for their own sin.
  
  It matters not how or when a person dies. It matters what a person's relationship to God is. If children are "innocent" they will be judged by God as such even if they die as part of Gods judgment against the nation in which they live.

  Romans 11:22
  "Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God's kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off."

  Song Lyrics that have hite a chord!

  ever listened to a song, and the lyrics really touched & hit a nerve with what you are going through faith wise?.

  i listened to an album the other day for the first time and there was a lot - quite a few of the songs hit.

  i'm not afraid to say that driving along, some made tears well up a bit - it was the robbie williams escapology album, the songs "better man" and "come undone" had lines in them that really hit home.

  My JW song will always be Muse - Uprising

  I know it's technically about rebelling against the economic transgressions of the government and wall street. But it applies so well to how I feel about the Watchtower.
