  simon, you would be surprised how much warning you get sometimes. a wifes mentally derranged x husband shoots a late night text that he is coming. a stepson comes clean that he incurred a debt to the mafia that he can not pay..and for what the second amendment was written for...an oppresive government loses the consent to govern and the people decide to remove said government by force. those scenarios are usually enough time to unlock a safe. i agree with the point of this thread. regardless of your reason for owning firearms they should be stored and locked away properly as dangerous weapons.

  I heard they asked for permission from the DC police but were denied. So I guess he did it anyway... That's a dumb way to make a point. All of us reasonable and responsible gun owners know the heirarchy of criminality in today's world is the following. You have to be very careful even with a 2nd amendment.

  pope john paul ii urged husbands "not to commit adultery with their wives by desiring sex for its mere pleasure and the satisfaction of instinct" (modras: 124, of 1980).. .

  we weren't exactly expecting a sex positive response, but isn't it a tad over the top, and well, you know, wrong to say that sex with your wife could even possibly be adulterous?

  the argument is that having sex for pleasure, rather than procreation, is against church doctrine, but how on earth is that adulterous?

  again,i want to tell you all how great it is to have you all here.its been an interesting year,with my mom moving in w/me permanently and dealing w/her leaving the jw's {at 83!!!

  }.its been nice to come in here and read what yo are all up to,thanks to mr flipper and his beautiful mrs flipper,dreamgolfer and all of the others who have made this place so interesting for me.i think we are the true embodiment of what the dubs wish they had.unconditional frienmdship and support.so,i hope you all have a wonderful christmas,kwanza,festivus,or whatever,and remember,if anyone is ewver in maine?usa?let me know.id love to meet you!i live you all..even you,shamus!!!!!!lol!.

  absolutely disgusting..... i cant imagine anyone wanting someone knocking on their doors and initiating a discussion about god or the eternal on such an occasion. had they reallly wanted to do something the could have put a sign in front of the kh saying open for prayer and let those that wanted to talk talk instead of harassing people in their homes. fucking clueless morons

  Why most young/teen JW's are born-in's?

  age 8-18 or maybe older.why won't you find young people or teens in the world who want to learn about the jw's without being taught by their parents?i mean c'mon guys we all know that the majority of the jw youth are jw's because their mothers,fathers or both told them about the org.any thoughts?.

  hmm lets see. i grew up in the south u.s. and this is a hard sell. no playing football, no dances, no dating, no sex, no christmas, no halloween, no masturbation especially if your def. the only thing to look forward to is an crusty donut on saturday after wearing an innapropriate wool suit in ninety percent humidity for three hours on saturday morning.

  i keep crossing paths with people who are in recovery, that is, recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.

  these folks regularly attend alcoholics anonymous and narcotics anonymous meetings and are all somewhere in the process of working the 12 steps of recovery.

  the organization denies affiliation with any legal entity; a blatant deception, a lie they tell new ones and each other at each and every meeting.

  To put a fine point on this discussion: I feel like obviously some people here are in AA and recovering. I don't look down on anyone for using AA. If I thought joining a cult would save my life, or keep me out of immediate danger, sure I would join. I just wouldn't lie to myself about what it is, a necessary and hopefully temporary evil. We have all lied to our selves once about being in a cult and that was enough.

  Whatever works for you, keep doing it and you will get to where you need to be.

  i have been around over a dozen groups and probably hundreds of aa members for the last two decades. aa meetings are like kingdom halls the doors are open anyone can take my challenge. tell them you want to work the program, but then see what happens when you criktically access their claims and use outside sources. no one has to take my word for it. there is an aa meeting on every corner.
