Just wondering,
Who had the power in your congregation? In mine it was always the elders wives. If you got on their bad side, watch out! Just wondering if it was the same in other areas.
Peace and love to all,

Mishnah,
You said: "I heard that Randy of freeminds no longer believes in God and is a homosexual. Can anyone verify this?"
Oh my goodness, could this really be true? I don't know. I'll turn on my GAYDAR and get back to you.
Who cares,
jjs
c'mon, 'fess up.
shouldn't you be workin'?
bboy,
Ok you busted me. Don't tell or I'll get fired, lose my house,
end up on welfare and have to move to a trailer park.
You wouldn't want that on your conscience now would you?
Peace and love,

a few weeks ago in the chat room, i learned that jw's didn't always mark their brothers and sisters.
i was baptized in 1994 and i believe that "marking" was done as early as that.
was this "marking" new light ?
Jurs,
I don't know when the official policy of marking began but I also remember it from the mid 70's in my early teens. The reason I know about it was beacause I spent the years from age 13 to age 16 being "marked". Then they just went ahead and da'd me. The reason I was marked the first time was because after my mothers funeral I told a brother who was trying to comfort me to quote "get his fucking hands off of me".
From then on they always seemed to find one reason or another to keep it up. That initial talk about cursing and not showing respect was a hoot though! Didn't bother me since I didn't like anyone at the KH anyway and wouldn't have wanted to be around them socially.

dr albert ellis has identified 10 irrational beliefs that can influence us and contribute to over reacting in specific situations.. knowing them is the first step in taking back your personal power and not becoming a casuality of such irrational thought.these screwy beliefs tend to make us 'awfulize, think in terms of 'they should,i should' and dysfunctional rationalizations.. 1. worrying too much about what other people think of you.
excessive worrying creates a strong fear of rejection.. these folks will ignore the self to please others or will display this insecurity by attacking others in order to stay distant and detached.. 2. i must not fail at important tasks, and if i do it's terrible and i can't stand it.. 3.people and things should always turn out the way i want them to-and if they don't it's awful, terrible and horrible, and i can't stand it.. 4.if any of the first 3 bad events happens(if im not liked or respected,if i fail,or if things don't turn out as i'd like-then i'll always blame someone for it!
they acted wrongly,as they should not have done, and they are rotten people for acting in that terrible way!.
Tina Darling,
Number 9 was the hardest for me to conquer. Ten years in therapy at least helped me resolve that issue. Once I realized that the past was a useful learning experience and not something that I was condemed to repeat, life truly became enjoyable for the first time.
Number 5 still bugs me. Being the true Cancer that I am, I worry about everything. I am working on that one. After having a very mild heart attack in May, I have learned to control the stress and the worrying to some degree. Believe me, a heart attack at 36 can really give you a new perspective on things. Why spend more time worrying about life than you do actually living it. Just my .02
Major Luv in your direction,

peace and love to everyone,.
the purpose of this post is not..let me repeat not to start a flame war, so as my mother use to tell me, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
ok so it doesn't have to be nice but please try and keep it civil.
Dave,
Thanks guy, that's the nicest thing a straight man has ever said me. hahaha. Seriously, I appreciate your words greatly. You are a good man, and these days that's a rare find.
Slayer,
If I do much more of that I'll never make it to 80!! Me thinks I'll wait another 5 years or so before trying that again. By then I'll be going thru a midlife crisis with a toupee and a sports car. God that's a scary thought!!!
Waiting,
You are right, there's is nothing better than good old fashioned one on one sex. I thought that way too until one night about 10 years ago when I ended up in a hotel room in Singapore with 2 hookers, one room service waiter, and an Austrailian sailor named Guy. But that's another story. hahaha. Hope all is well with you and yours. You sure seem like one hell of a mother to me. You're kids are lucky, and if they ever need reminded of that just tell them to ask me.
Friday,
Blow me. On second thought no thanks. The visual image I just conjured up of that moment has set me off sex for at least a month. So now if Armageddon comes in the next month will I be safe, since I won't be a practicing homosexual. Things that make you go "hmmm".
Take care all,
jjs
I hope it lasts at least a little longer. I just spent 3 months relandscaping my yard. If it was all for naught I'm gonna be seriously pissed.
dave,.
just checking to see if today is going better for you than yesterday.
i know your dealing with some tough issues right now.

being raised a jw sometimes you feel you only know conditional love.
you are only loved if you tow the line.
i only have one thing to say,.
Dave,
Anger isn't always a bad emotion. Go to the gym and punch the hell out of a punching bag. If you break it, it won't cost as much to replace as your monitor, and you probably won't need to make a trip to the emergency room to stitch your hand up. (haha) You can also try watching a sappy movie. It's easier for us guys to release emotion thru tears if we convince ourselves that it's someone elses pain that's causing it. Usually after a good cry I feel a little better, even if the problem is still there. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
Peace and love,
