  The fact that Northwoods existed doesn't constitute evidence that 9/11 was a conspiracy

  Of course it doesn't constitute evidence that 9/11 was a conspiracy. The question is, if prior US administrations could draft such heinous operations against *innocent* civilians, what would stop another administration from doing the same thing on a larger scale? We cannot firmly say one way or the other that the Bush administration did or did not contribute or allow 9/11 to occur. And taking a firm stand on either side of this coin is foolish. It could be decades from now that information might leak out about the truth surrounding 9/11. I wouldn't go so far as to say that we have the answers to every single question out there.

  I've never taken a side on this issue, but when pressed, none of the anti-conspiracy crowd has ever addressed Project Northwoods and how it could compare to recent events. The best someone has ever come up with is, "This administration is not smart enough to pull off an event this large and complex." Again, this doesn't address the comparison between Project Northwoods and 9/11, but rather, points to an "intelligence" factor with this administration combined with the notion that "hundreds or thousands" of people would have to know about it.

  If previous administrations(democrats) could conjure up such black operations under the guise of leading the USA into war with another country, what would stop another administration(republicans) from doing the same thing? Granted, this administration may or may not have deliberately sponsored these "terrorist" acts themselves, but they would be just as liable if they allowed them to take place. The famous line of questioning to Condi Rice regarding the Presidential Daily Briefing over Al Qaida planning attacks in the USA demonstrates they could have let it happen willingly. Why didn't they immediately put into place the strict measures that we have to endure today when we fly??

  Heh heh...

  All the cubs fans were giving me $hit a good thrashing this extremely cold day at Wrigley. Laughing at and taunting me about how the Cards lost that day. I simply replied to them all -- "Let's see where were at in October." I remember one guy saying back to me, "Yeah, you're probably right." Gotta love it!

  i heard it said recently on this forum that there was no such thing now as disfellowshipping or disassociating.

  you are either a jw or not... is this correct?

  and how much should i read into the thing about 'not talking to the inactive' now, as per advice given at the latest assembly?

  Something funny just popped into my head. We have so many acronyms for current and exjws, why not add one more? It totally fits and carries a double meaning as well ---

  INLAW

  • Are you an INLAW? How many jokes are made of INLAWs? If you have horrible INLAWs, do you try not to talk with them if at all possible?
  • Or......were you one of the post-March/April(?) '05 KM INLAW announcements?

  Do you know what an INLAW is yet? Is No Longer A Witness...

  So are these the four basic "official" categories for drifting and exjw's? ---

  1. Disfellowshipped
  2. Disassociated
  3. Fader(Inactive)
  4. INLAW

  I'd say over 90-95% of the board falls into one of these categories. Is that a close estimate?

  (pardon me if someone else already claimed credit for this one(inlaw) and I didn't notice it)

  My computer blew up.... Literally!!! BANG!!! :S

  i needed to reboot so i did a normal shutdown.

  no big deal.. it shutdown and started to come back up but never got past the post.

  so i rebooted again and got the same thing... i opened it up to see what was going on and noticed there was a lot of dust collected on the cpu cooling fan and fins.

  What's your opinion?

  Ideally? Get your computer to some sort of grounded workbench and put on that wriststrap and disconnect power. For home users I'll have to reply later as I'm getting ready to walk out the door.

  It's obvious that my #1 mistake was leaving the computer on while I blew the dust out of it.

  It's nice to see that you recognized the #1 mistake when cracking open your case. You should always turn off the power(and unplug the A/C cable) no matter what simple task you may be setting out to do. **where's that hand smacking the forehead icon??**

  Any Nintendo Wii'ers out there?

  hands down the best new game system you can buy.

  forget the ultra-highend graphics, being part of the game is where it's at.

  we've had one for a couple months now and even my wife loves to play all the games we have for it.. bsom's thread about d&d reminded me of something...you know how many jw's will watch lord of the rings but will spurn harry potter due to the witchcraft portrayed?

  Hands down the best new game system you can buy. Forget the ultra-highend graphics, being part of the game is where it's at. We've had one for a couple months now and even my wife loves to play all the games we have for it.

  BSoM's thread about D&D reminded me of something...You know how many jw's will watch Lord of the Rings but will spurn Harry Potter due to the witchcraft portrayed? Or how about not playing D&D, but playing Zelda? This same scenario exists in my home as well. My wife tells me to turn the channel if Harry Potter happens to be on, but we own the Rings' set on dvd and she loves the trilogy. We also have Zelda as one of our Wii games and she has her own character saved as she plays through it. I just sit back and snicker in my head. I'm glad she is finding Satan's world to be more acceptable these days.

  The Wii's bundled Sports pack is worth it alone. The tennis and bowling are as if you are there on the court or the lane. Swing your arm like you're holding a racquet. Flick your wrist as you release the bowling ball for added spin. Too cool. So far we have Zelda, Monkeyball, and Need for Speed - Carbon. I'm definitely dropping whatever coin it's going to cost for the new Tiger Woods. No more joystick and button swinging. You better swing it right or it's going out of bounds.

  So does anyone else out there have one and think it's the greatest?

  I haven't been to a bank in so long...what the hell is a "bank drive through?" Direct deposit rules! But to answer your question, yep, I would buzz the person working the lane and let them suck the money back through the tube.

  If you found a wallet with alot of money in it, would you keep it? (I wouldnt, cuz I know how much I would appreciate it if someone returned mine)

  Hell no. This is one of those things where I would want someone else to do the same for me as I would do for them. Just last summer I noticed some kids riding on bikes down our street and they stopped right in front of our house. As soon as they stopped, I noticed something laying in the street. They picked it(a wallet) up and took out the cash that was in it. They then just dropped it back on the ground in the middle of the street where they found it. I went out and checked to see if there was any ID inside. The owner of the wallet just happened to live about 15 houses down from me so I walked it down and he was really surprised that I had it in my hands. He thought that he must have left it on his truck somewhere but was pretty happy that everything was still intact minus whatever cash that was in it.

  How about just a plain envelope, or bag of money with no name? Would you turn it into the police?

  Hmm, this one is a little more tricky. It would depend on where I found it. You know you cannot just go and advertise you found some cash and will the owner come and pick it up. No less than a hundred people will come knocking. The police? I don't know. If I saw a dealer running and he happened to drop his bank roll, you can be damn sure his roll is now mine.
