Lets say you go throught the bank drive through, and cash a check. They give you an extra hundred bucks.........Would you tell them? (i have to admit, I didnt, and felt guilty)

If you found a wallet with alot of money in it, would you keep it? (I wouldnt, cuz I know how much I would appreciate it if someone returned mine)

How about just a plain envelope, or bag of money with no name? Would you turn it into the police? (still pondering over that one) lol

So...have you ever found something? Money or anything of value and kept it?

I've never found money but quite a few times we've not been charged for stuff. The biggest amount was about £80 for bedroom furniture, but i told hubby to go back and tell them.the garden centre undercharged us by£20 the other week but i was so worried about it we went back to pay. If i found money or a wallet then i would hand it in, it wouldn't be mine and its what i would hope someone would do for me. Damn i'm just too honest!

This happened to me with over 700 dollars and took it back right away, he was very relieved

Found several wallets and returned all the money without hesitation,

My conscience is worth more than a couple of dollars, gotta look at the man in the mirror everyday, a reputation is worth far more than money.

I returned the extra hundred (new bills stick!), and the teller almost cried. She would have lost her job, as she was beyond the probationary period.

I'm actually inheirently dishonest. I have to fight to maintain my integrity before man but especially towards God. I am by nature a thief, and have to actively pursue the right thing to do. It does not come to me naturally. Not that I go around shoplifting and the like, but if I see a $20.00 bill lying around, say for instance at the job that someone dropped, it would be my nature to pocket it and keep quiet about it, even if someone was to ask whether anyone had seen it. I and Judas Escariot share similar traits.

If the cashier make a mistake giving you extra hundred bucks, you should not feel guilty about it. It is the cashier's fault and it is not your fault!

If I find a wallet with a name, I will return it.

If I find money with no name, I will keep it!

I have found a purse in the cart at the Grocery Store Parking Lot, I never opened the purse, I just returned it to the Customer Service.

Definitely tell them and return the money. Same thing at the register. Imagine how the teller's or checker's personal circumstances would be affected if they come up so enormously short at the end of their day!

If you found a wallet with alot of money in it, would you keep it? (I wouldnt, cuz I know how much I would appreciate it if someone returned mine)

No, I wouldn't keep it. I'd try to locate them with their ID or turn it over to the police and get a receipt. I feel the same way you do about this.

How about just a plain envelope, or bag of money with no name? Would you turn it into the police? (still pondering over that one) lol

If it didn't have any register receipts or checks in with the money and there was a large enough amount that it appeared to be drug money (in the thousands), I'd keep it. They needed to lose it anyway. If there's checks and receipts, etc. in the envelope or bag, I'd turn it in to the police and get a receipt.

So...have you ever found something? Money or anything of value and kept it?

Yes. Back when I worked in nightclubs, sometimes customers would accidently drop random bills on the floor and not notice. Then they'd leave. I wore slip on shoes, so I could slide my foot out of my shoe, pick the money up with my toes and put my shoe back on. No one noticed. HEY! It was a strip club, alright! They shouldn't have been wasting their time and money there anyway.

How about just a plain envelope, or bag of money with no name? Would you turn it into the police? Depends how much money I guess. I'm not sure if I could be bothered to go to the police station, lol.

When I was younger, I was on my way home from school and a cyclist drop all his papers out of his back pocket and didn't notice. He also dropped 60 pounds in 20's that were in amongst the papers. We went looking for him and gave it all back. He gave us a quid each.

I haven't been to a bank in so long...what the hell is a "bank drive through?" Direct deposit rules! But to answer your question, yep, I would buzz the person working the lane and let them suck the money back through the tube.

If you found a wallet with alot of money in it, would you keep it? (I wouldnt, cuz I know how much I would appreciate it if someone returned mine)

Hell no. This is one of those things where I would want someone else to do the same for me as I would do for them. Just last summer I noticed some kids riding on bikes down our street and they stopped right in front of our house. As soon as they stopped, I noticed something laying in the street. They picked it(a wallet) up and took out the cash that was in it. They then just dropped it back on the ground in the middle of the street where they found it. I went out and checked to see if there was any ID inside. The owner of the wallet just happened to live about 15 houses down from me so I walked it down and he was really surprised that I had it in my hands. He thought that he must have left it on his truck somewhere but was pretty happy that everything was still intact minus whatever cash that was in it.

How about just a plain envelope, or bag of money with no name? Would you turn it into the police?

Hmm, this one is a little more tricky. It would depend on where I found it. You know you cannot just go and advertise you found some cash and will the owner come and pick it up. No less than a hundred people will come knocking. The police? I don't know. If I saw a dealer running and he happened to drop his bank roll, you can be damn sure his roll is now mine.
