my soon to be baptised friend has started talking to me since i said i might study with jws.
he tells me some people really believe jws have let their kids die over the blood issue.
i suggested that may have been the case in the past but he says it is all lies.
Having worked as a CNM (certified Nurse-Midwife) for the past 18 years in many hospitals, I have seen several babies die due to the blood issue. Especially premature babies who had no other reason but lack of a blood transfusion to lose their life.
It was very frustrating for the neonatalogist or other physicans to try to save a life when the parents were unreasonable about a publishing corporation's policies.

i am completely surprised by the amount of posts over the last couple of weeks of people (lurkers) signing up to the board and introducing themselves.
most still part of the jw cult, but thinking for themselves and wanting real answers.

it's a little over a year now (2 years last february) that my family and i left watchtower and i can't begin to tell you how wonderful life has been!.
ok, i'm saddled with a serious illness at present and enough has been said about it, but i'd just like to focus on how much a family can really grow once it has been freed from watchtower's yoke.

i finally got through to lady lee.
she's living in ottawa and is mostly confined to a wheel chair.
her feet are worse and can barely walk.

before i explain why, i've never really given anyone a background on myself, even though i've been a member here for 2 1/2 years.
so i'll try and make this quick.. i was raised a jw my whole life.
i know many jw's in the seattle area and eastside.

I know you may be dreading it now, to set foot in a KH, but when I had to for my dad's and then my f-i-l's memorial, it was surreal. The JWs were more afraid of me and my family than I of them. (Of course a nice shot of rum in the parking lot helped calm me down )
Remember, you know more than the average JW and they are the ones under the influence of a "cult".
