I'M A NEWBIE! My story...
by terafera ini just came across this site not too long ago and have been reading the stories.
i am filled with relief and at the same time frustration mixed with tears, because i have been holding my story in and not sharing it with anyone, except my husband.
i have felt many of the feelings expressed here but was afraid to say them out loud for fear of being an 'apostate'.

Worried about my Dad in hospital :(
by Simon inwe visited angharad's parents at the weekend and got a call on sunday night from her sister who'd been called by my sister as they hadn't been able to contact us .... the message was not a happy one:.
my dad has had a heart attack and was in intensive care in hospital.. it was a while before i managed to speak to anyone over there with people probably out but i eventually spoke to his wife who says he's doing ok and has now been moved to the main ward but is being kept in as you would expect.
he may have to be moved to calgary for some investigation / tests.. he had heart surgery about 15 years ago and i think 4 of his 5 bypasses have failed so he has to take quite a bit of medicine for pain and stuff.

I agree with LDH "I don't ever want to look back after they are gone and wish I had loved them differently". This includes the whole family. Hope you have a safe trip. You have done so much for people here and its great to see the outpouring of love to you in return. j2bf -

OMG, you made me burst out crying.
It was the subtle things in the congo that we seemed to always be "battleing" about. It's now from those subtle things that life is so sweet and rewarding when we don't have to battle anymore.

What do you think the Dateline show will do?

I agree, Mulan. The Catholic church went through this several years ago and their membership is still growing. I would hope it would wake some jw minds, but I really don't think it will. They like the box they live in. J2bf

how does the 2 witnesses to a sin thing work?
let me explain why i'm asking.. about 7 years ago a friend of jon's that he has known as a child contacted him via telephone.

PS - the need for 2 eyewitnesses is also very convenient for protecting authority figures among JWs who are pedophiles and wife beaters. (Since when do pedophiles and wife beaters seek out an audience??)

Welcome to the board, BQE.
I used to live over the BQE in the 70s. Became an RN then CNM in the 80s and now out. You most certainly did the right thing to live your own life. I'm sorry you had to suffer the consequences with your family. Hopefully there is still time for your mom & sister to learn about unconditional love.
