i heard Tom Comb’s wife, Carol, has died. She was Knorr’s housekeeper when I was there. (Was at their table in 75)
Gee such wasted lives.
It amazes me how strong the mind is to hold onto beliefs no matter what the facts are.

I called up Bethel a few minutes ago
by new boy inwhat the heck.. i couldn't believe it, norm brekkie and tom combs are still alive.. norm is so out of it he couldn't tell you what day of the week it was.. i talked to larry fisher he is gone mentally also.
he couldn't even remember when he went to bethel.. then i called up daryl christenson.
he wasn't so friendly.

A & E Cults-Barbara Anderson

i can't help but think how barbara has tirelessly worked to expose the child abuse issue within the watchtower/jw.org and is still working to not only expose the problem but to help change the laws in the usa to help protect children.
she has a wealth of information gathered for over 20 years on how the governing body protects the pedophile and not help the victims .

I can't help but think how Barbara has tirelessly worked to expose the child abuse issue within the Watchtower/JW.org and is still working to not only expose the problem but to help change the laws in the USA to help protect children. She has a wealth of information gathered for over 20 years on how the governing body protects the pedophile and not help the victims
Thank you Barbara (and Joe) for all your hard work and now seeing results throughout the world of helping everyone see what the Watchtower/JW.org is really about.
A&E's show is an excellent program, well put together.

My housekeeping assignment in '75 was the 2nd floor at the towers. Don't remember the #'s but it was the inside rooms, facing a brick wall of the towers. Very dark, very depressing (before remodeling). C. Gielio was the housekeeper across the hall. Norma Sanchez and Virginia Walls were upstairs on the 3rd floor. The four of us would get together for breaks (and gossip) 🤓

does this quote indicate that maybe such ones have considered that the jw's may not have the truth after all?

baptised nearly 51 years

i have had a long and often tragic life as a jw.
my story is so long because i'm pretty old :) i feel sad i've been locked in fear and guilt for my entire life.

Welcome Phoebe!
How courageous of you to come and share with us. Going to counseling is the best thing you can do for yourself. Don't look back, except what not to repeat, but look forward to your new evolving freedom. Give yourself permission to take your time adjusting to who you are now and will be as you shed such mind control and deal with your post traumatic stress. You are amazing just to speak up.
Enjoy the rest of your life. There are many here with loads of experience having been a JW and now ex-JW.

Just curious - is apostasy grounds for divorce?
by LifesNotOver ini know only adultery is supposed to be grounds for "scriptural" divorce.
i'm a wicked apostate in their eyes, but my believing husband and i still can't get a divorce that would allow him to remarry.
we currently are separated - i have left him.
