a few days ago i entered on a discussion on jesus geniology.

i mentioned about the missing years from 12 - 30 of jesus life not in the bible.

yes, i too have wondered how an assembly that is held in a fully paid for assembly hall, with no food service, could possibly have $10,000 in expenses.

i suppose the bethel speakers have transportation expenses - maybe $1000 or so.

as for rent on the assembly hall, well you have already paid for it once, why pay again?

just having had my circuit assembly recently, i felt that the expenses in a watchtower-owned building seemed extremely over-inflated.

over $9000 for two days.

there were approximately 750-800 in attendance each day.

WOULD JEHOVAH DIRECT A RELIGION TO PROMOTE FALSEHOOD?(at all) and yet they do over and over!!!

The GB wants us to believe that this is true...because they claim these falsehoods to be "present truths"=tomorrows false teachings

Donny..."The GB says that this "appointment" took place in early 1919, yet they provide no evidence to support it. As a JW you are supposed to accept that statement hook, line and sinker. That "appointment" is a monumental claim that should have monumental evidence to support it, yet there is none."

So true...I have always felt the same on several other issues...WHERE'S THE SUPPORTED EVIDENCE!!!

Are Earthquakes Really on the Increase?

We continue to be asked by many people throughout the world if earthquakes are on the increase. Although it may seem that we are having more earthquakes, earthquakes of magnitude 7.0 or greater have remained fairly constant.

A partial explanation may lie in the fact that in the last twenty years, we have definitely had an increase in the number of earthquakes we have been able to locate each year. This is because of the tremendous increase in the number of seismograph stations in the world and the many improvements in global communications. In 1931, there were about 350 stations operating in the world; today, there are more than 8,000 stations and the data now comes in rapidly from these stations by electronic mail, internet and satellite. This increase in the number of stations and the more timely receipt of data has allowed us and other seismological centers to locate earthquakes more rapidly and to locate many small earthquakes which were undetected in earlier years. The NEIC now locates about 20,000 earthquakes each year or approximately 50 per day. Also, because of the improvements in communications and the increased interest in the environment and natural disasters, the public now learns about more earthquakes.

According to long-term records (since about 1900), we expect about 17 major earthquakes (7.0 - 7.9) and one great earthquake (8.0 or above) in any given year.

the crowd was in a hysterical state, every time that we tried to say something we were silenced by the clapping and screams which got louder and louder of the majority of the two hundred people in attendance.

Please lets not be naive...I have seen this happen 3 times on a smaller scale at an assembly and local KH. It can and does happen it's just not common behavior for JW's as a whole. But Brothers and sisters can and do yell at each other and at times get physical.

Seen it been there...oh yes and they lie, steal, cheat, and commit all kinds of other nasty things.
