  i lied, somewhat.

  yes i did talk to people about the "truth" but not in favourable terms.. has anyone simply stated, "i have not been in service this month"?

  Nicely said sd-7... many good points also from others. It is all about control and time in service is the best way to move up... there is no disputing that fact. I have seen many appointed that missed half of the meetings but had good service time in.

  The no beard or facial hair rule

  okay, something that has always been a side point but still a rather ridiculous rule is that brothers cannot "serve" if they have a beard/goatee/anything more than just a moustache.

  at least in the states, i've heard of some congregations in some countries allow this, but they are the exception?

  I have facial hair now and have for some years...They will not use me for anything but i can go out in service and gived the bible reading and #4. But i am a marked man by most, but if i keep my service time up there is less of a problem. I think they are hoping I will shave but again it is not a real big problem as long as service time is up. I keep it very neat and trimmed close. The common sense "rule" is if the people in the area that you live are not offended by facial hair or whatever then it should be ok as long as there is no scriptural law or principal against it. They said it's up to your body of elders...I say it's up to me and my trained conscience...I'll just leave it at that.

  OK lets just say for sake of arguement, armargedon comes, god wants to know why you left the JW's. What do you say to him?

  but its an interesting question.

  there you are at armargeddon, and god asks you " why you left the jw's?

  • Why in the most critical time in human history did you make it so hard to find you? (Even though the scriptures say you are not far off form each on us.)
  • Why was Satan allowed to mislead the entire world so easily with no “equal help” to counter his tactics to obscure truth? (Since billions are to be killed in your day of destruction and only a few saved?)
  • Love is the identifying mark of all “true” followers and You?… would the state of mankind show that it is your desire that most people be saved?
  • It would appear just the opposite is true, for if it were not we would not have to guess the answers as to what, who, or how, we would not have so many conflicting groups guessing the answers to life’s most basic questions. We should have these answers and then either accept them or reject them…our judgment would then be based on our informed decisions!
  • Why did you allow the WTBTS (that claims to be your only true org) make not understanding a change of beliefs or being confused to the changes without scriptural proof…but just because we say so, be worthy of being casted out?
  • It appears that individuals are expendable and justice was not and is not equally applied today or through out the bible... it has been based on who you were not what you have done (King David as one example).

  i haven't even gotten half way and they already excluded one very important bit of information.

  you'll recall that russell "lost" his faith and "turning away from church creeds and searching for truth, russell examined some leading oriental religions, only to find these unsatisfying".
