  My Encounter with a JW couple this Morning

  i was shopping with nugget in sainsburys and i saw them in the bread aisle.

  a couple in their late 70's / early 80's who really i do have an affection for.

  he was an ms when i left, not sure if he still is, and she was just a very genuine person with decades of "faithful service" to the cult.. when i was a newly appointed elder, their grand-daughter had accused her step-father of sexual abuse, he was eventually df'd but has since my leaving been reinstated.

  Cantleave...so true. She has been divorced for over 30 years. Hoping for the new system to solve all her problems. A few years ago I asked her if she was still in love with my step dad and she said yes. So she has never lost her love for him and has hope Jehovah would fix things for her but it has not happened. She threw herself in the religion hoping this would make her life meaningful. It has failed.

  There was a knock at the door....

  or more like a thunking sound really, which set our little dog into a fit of barking.

  i crawled out from behind the fridge where i was doing a repair on the waterline for the icemaker, so i could go see what all the commotion was about.

  i fugured it was going to be my neighbor returning my ladder but instead it was jw's handing out memorial invites.. the woman and the young man (her 20 something son) were people i had known but hadn't seen since we faded 4+ years ago.

  I got my attempted memorial guilt trip just now....

  knock on the door and cobe and wife (my old group overseer) standing in the cold.. bollocks!

  ...i consider for about 1 second leaving them out there and just talking holding the door... but think better of it as it was cold an so invited them to step inside.. just passing thru and doing some calls he says, ... i know why he's here and after the preliminaries (how are you, we miss you etc), i preempted him and sped things right along.. "i can guess why you are here" i said, "it being memorial season and all.

  " he makes a jokey point about nothing gets past me does it.. he looks uncomfortable, then does the invite manouver and says "you are welcome to come" followed by "we'd like to see you there.".

  I really have compassion for them...it's been my experience they just don't know.

  • They don't know they have been duped, mis directed, lied to, deceived!
  • They don't know they are not in control of their own minds.

  My 79 year old mom ( bless her heart) text me a few hrs ago that she was at her special assembly day...and how she "needed it". I don't say anything negative (really) I just acknowledged what she said and try to be positive. My brother who was never baptized gives her enough grief since I was able to awaken him. He was a believe mentally, but is very upset at this time with mom and dad. Mom knows something is not correct but still feels it is the "truth" and the org is gods chosen ones. Sad but thats the reality of it...it's hard enough for me at 58 (awaken a little over three years ago) to realize you gave up your life to lies and mis direction let alone for someone of my moms age to realize it!

  They are evil, the POS writers of this dribble need to be put down like any rabid dog affected with rabies! This is a contagious and fatal article that that will act like a virus to unsuspecting readers.

  History shows what I said to be absolutely true! I will continue to put effort to help bring this to the light. No one has the right to control another persons thoughts!

  Well... I got my 'invite'

  as most know, it's that time of the year when the jws go out 'in force' and bang on doors trying to leave their litter-ature for the memorial - aka 'memorial invite'.. this morning (saturday), i was at the local coffee shop - which is normal for me.

  my wife was at home chilling on the sofa, in her nightie.. i got a text message around 9:30-ish saying that jws had been at our house.. when i got home, my wife said she was sitting on the sofa when she heard a light 'tap tap' on the door.

  we have a doorbell.

  at the hospital, mother inlaw fell and glasses cut her brow:(.

  so glag jehovah was watching and helping her...and all those who have come in after us.

  i was enjoying a fire outside and having a scotch then wam down on the floor she went...now we are in the emergency room.
