Scrolls back then werent paper. They were leather or papyrus. Mostly leather. But they were still too friggin expensive to be going door to door with them.

Im frustrated to no end. From my studies I know let it go this too shall pass. But damnit I just want to make them do things the right way! I trust God will handle this. On the same token Im moved to act and stand up to them. Damnit its so conflicting.

Thats the stupidest thing I ever saw. They never would do that. Scrolls were precious. Nobody could afford to go door to door with them. Plus its not like anyone could read them anyway.
Its stuffy and cold to knock on peoples doors with books in hand. Talking to people when its natural in an oppourtunistic setting is much more loving, than shoving books at people.
The problem is the kingdumb hall was founded after a model of the church. The whole setting is wrong. Jesus liked to teach with movement. He would go out where there was people and get them involved.
Instead of standing at a podium and telling people how it is why dont they try a group setting with open discussion?

Needs help telling my mom that I dont want to be apart of her religion
by LovelyEunie ini really don't know how to just tell my mom that i dont want to do be a jw, i mean i really shouldn't have to tell her if she'd actually pay attention to my attitude everytime she goes on a religious rant, but she chooses to stay blind and keeps making me go to that place and sit through meetings that i don't agree with on most occasions...i think that she thinks that if she keeps making me go then i'll miraculously have a change of heart and want to stay in (which will never happen).
i don't want to be disrepectful about it but since she obviously doesn't care about my feelings towards it, then why should i care if i hurt her feelings in the process, you know?
i just really don't know what to do, everytime i go to that place i feel fake because everthing they instruct us not to do, i've pretty much done it or will do it with no remorse, and i don't care either way.

Muslim President and Jehovah's Witnesses...
by Snoozy inwell i guess i don't keep up on the jw news like i should...... in talking with my friend that has been disfellowshipped about the religion and it's falsehoods (lies)..she stated that the jw's are saying that the witnesses claimed beforehand that we would have a black muslim as president (they claim obama is) and it would be a sign of the nearing of armageddon..so when obama got to be predisent they see this as a fulfillment of this prophecy of theirs..so they must be the right religion.... help!
how would you answer this?.

I get what you guys are saying about the radiation not being able to penetrate. But an induced current doesnt need to penetrate. Think of it like those things with about 8 metal balls hanging from fishing wires in a line. You pull the one at the end and let it go. None of the ones in the middle move. The energy is transferred to the other end and that ball gets knocked out.
All you need to do to affect the whole thing is induce a current in the magnetic feild. This will carry the current like a shockwave into the earth.

No I was was talking about earths iron core. The sun sends out a pulse of charged particles. When it hits earth it induces a current in the iron core. Thats alot of power. It would have to release somehow. Heat from volcanos or earthquakes is what I think is happening.

When the first coil shuts its power down it induces a current in the small wired coil. It travels down the spark plug wires and releases all this built up energy in the form of light and heat from the spark.
Im sure many of you knew what an induced current was. But this was to get everyone on the same page for my point.
The sun has a solar flare. Sends it to earth with its iron magnetic core. When the flare is over it releases its power through light and heat in the form of northern lights and eathquakes/volcanoes.
This is my theory. What you think?

HELP Why dont we hear God/Angels
by frigginconfused inive heard time and time again that the gb does its best because "as we all know" god doesnt talk to us anymore.. so my question is this...is there and scriptual evidence that god has said he will be cutting off all communication to us.
all prophecy is done and the bible is the end all be all?.
unless the bible specificly states that god and the angels are silent then thats a huge game changer.. how is the food gonna be fed to us at the propper time unless we get new communication..

Does the bible state anywhere that God has set a date when he stoped talking to us? Why is it assumed God stopped talking to us?
Not does he exist. I could care less. Just wanna know what the book says. Dont matter if you believe or not.
