Not Sure What To Do....HELP!!!!!

hello..i have been lurking for quite some time and am finally ready to make my first post!.

i was raised a witness and am still "active" in the congregation and am married to husband who is also and have been having some doubts for some time and voiced some of them to my husband a few months back and he immediatly called the elders who provided a sheparding call.

doubts were mainly on the harshness of the disfellowshipping and the blood issue.

Welcome lostinnj83! Wow - reading your post is almost the same as my experience (except I have a teenager too) - it actually made me panic as it's all still fresh for me. Cult classic made some excellent points - caution is extremely important. You are dealing with people who are caught up in a web of mind control and are completely blinded to your excellent reasonings. The harsh reality is - most, if not all, of our friendships including family are based on the condition of being part of the organization. That is a very, very hard thing to accept. There are many women on this board who's husbands are the ones who continue to be blinded so you are not alone - it's a tough road.

You will have lots of good advice and suggestions as well as support from here. I wish you all the best and my heart goes out to you.

how many times has the wts changed their decisions about the resurrection of the people of sodom and gomorrah?i know there has been a lot of discussion about this matter.can someone tell me the dates when they changed opinion?if it is possible please tell me the exact magazine/page/paragraph..

The Great Tribulation soon?

recently i have looked at youtube on interesting topics.

i wrote also to all 129 bethel-homes around the world and suggested them to search on youtube on illuminati, freemasons, 666, new world order, fema coffins, fema concentration camps, rfid chip, rockefeller, antichrist.. very interesting stuff!

i suggest you also to search on "the third temple" could soon to be built in jerusalem.

Whenever I heard talk of the great tribulation I always wondered what people would think of who lived in areas where there has been nothing BUT great tribulation. How do you tell people that there is a great tribulation coming who are:

Starving each and every day, see death every day, lose every baby they give birth too, crawl on their hands and knees all their life because they are too weak, drink parasite infested water, have no clothes, have no homes, have never seen ONE day of peace in their lifetime, bugs crawling under their skin, disease eating their flesh, have no idea what a doctor is, no access to medicine . . .

Here you go - here is a magazine telling YOU that there is a great tribulation COMING . . . What could be worse than millions of people are ALREADY suffering? Imagine the look on their faces! What could be worse than what they are living. They live a nightmare each and every day. An END would be a release for them!!

How sad. Then again - there is no money to be made by the WTBTS in those areas so they would not waste their time. They are sick, evil men.

Outcast & Rejected

just wanted to interduce myself an give an quick synopsis.. i was a happy an healthy(ish) young man back in march 08. i was cornnered by a (didn't know it @ the time) jw who talked to me alot about "the truth" and why the world is like it is.

he is a window cleaner in town, hence i didn't know as he wasn't in his suit.

everything he said made sense to me @ the time, but thinking back i wasn't @ my healthiest or strongest so he got me @ my weakest point.

Welcome Drewmeister! I'm sorry to hear of all your troubles. You've come to the righ place to seek people who's lives have been damaged by the WTBTS! We all carry the bruises, hurt and pain. It is an evil organization.It's a terrible thing when stress affects your health. I believe you need to focus on yourself and try to get your health under control. There is a book I highly recommend that you read. I actually think this book would benefit many on this board as we ALL lose our individuality when we become part of the organization (or any other high control group). The book is When the Body Says No - The Cost of Hidden Stress by Gabor Mate, MD. When something happens in our life that starts to control us and we suppress our feelings then our body takes over to say no for us - a result is ME, arthritis, ALS, cancer, etc. It forces us to reevaluate our lives and to make drastic changes. There are many things you can do to get better.

I like the people in my Kingdom Hall!

this may sound like a funny title, but it is actually true.

just to give a brief background on myself, i've been a jw for nearly 12 years now.

i didn't grow up in a jw family, nor is anyone else in my immediate family a jw (except my wife and her family).

Welcome Lavozsa! Right now the elders believe you are part of the flock and are encouraging you. However, once they realize that your stand and beliefs are firm, they will quickly turn. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that ALL my 'friendships' in the org are conditional. Once it is known that you celebrate birthdays - as Undercover pointed out - you will be rather quickly freed from this religion. It won't by by your choice. It would be a good idea to build up your friendships that you have outside of the hall because they tend to be more real (not in all cases) as they are not based on a forced friendship like in a religion. For the time being and until you do more research I would also recommend to keep the information to yourself. It helps to have a plan first. I wish I had done that when I first found things out.

During pregnancy, is the mothers blood in any way passed onto the baby?

i ask this because if it is, then why even bother saying that people should abstain from blood?.

My Family Being Verbally Abused by MS

someone talk me out of going to jail.. i just found out an ms called my sister and verbally abused her.

told her she was 'unspiritual and inactive and he doesn't have to listen to her'.......he then continued with what a 'crappy mother she is' etc.. i'm in a blind rage.

They are evil! How awful. Good for you for standing up for your sister. Don't give them the satisfaction of doing something stupid though! As hard as it is to keep calm - it is not worth it for you.

I hope things get better. Please let your sister know there are many people who are rooting for her and for you!

Help! Hold Me Back From Voicing My Opinions And Getting Shunned!

i am new to this board after lurking for awhile (thanks so much for creating this place simon, and for everyone's shared thoughts!).

i am going crazy because i have recently allowed myself to begin thinking (and it is so fun!

) and i am an outspoken person, and it is very hard for me to keep my opinions and discoveries about this place under my hat!

Hello and welcome! It is fun to actually think isn't it? It's great. Unfortunately - I learned the hard way that my enthusiasm for finding out truths about the organization was not shared by ANYONE and they all thought I was crazy. I did not realize the extent of the mind control and it is VERY hard to get through. I was called an apostate, my father turned me in over ONE scripture that I read to him, my friends informed the elders about my thoughts, etc. I created an INSTANT mess for myself and a lot of stress. So - if I were to give a suggestion it would be to - keep quiet about what you know until you think some more and do some more research. Then you can come up with a plan (easier said than done!) There are lots of great ideas on this board as to how to proceed.

Honest Question..........

well, first off, iam new to the forum here, i registered maybe a week ago???

sometime around there, but anyway, i do have an honest question.

i guess a little background about me might be helpful and if not, at least therapeutic.

Welcome! I can certainly empathize with your situation! You've been given a lot of great suggestions so there's not much for me to add. We all have to find our own way. Patience is a key - I drove myself crazy looking for the "real truth" out there and I'm still looking, but I've calmed down and lessened the pace. I have decided that organized religion is not for me, as they all swear by their own brand of truth. Jesus did not preach a religion - he said "I am the way and the truth and the life." He promised that he would be with each and every one of us - NOT an organization.

Crisis of Conscience is a wonderful book (eye opening and sad too) and points out what true Christianity as about.

This board is a wonderful resource to bounce ideas around - you definitely get a well-rounded viewpoints.

This makes me sick! More propaganda. I guess they need a DVD to help in the indoctrination process - printed page is not enough they have to sear it into your brain via TV. I wonder if they'll be putting in subliminal messages too.

Their made up, farfetched, ridiculous, twisted, bs explanation of what constitutes contemporaries is sheer and utter nonesense. Pretty soon they'll be coming up with a new dictionary and all the other ones will be dumped into memory holes.
