Giving "Jehovahs spirit" credit for mundane, everyday things!

i am hearing this more and more and it is like nails on a chalkboard.

i hear it from the wt, from elders, from my parents and from jws in general.

this had to be jehovahs spirit!

I can remember a newly married pioneer couple back in the 1960s who were very poor due to no jobs but had a particularly generous neighbour. This neighbour was not a JW but had lived next door to the sister and her family for many years and out of the kindness of his heart provided the couple with some furniture for their new home.

I also knew this neighbour and one day he told me that he had never had a word of thanks for his generosity, just an overheard comment that Jehovah always provides for those who are serving him.

Well, this neighbour indignantly told me that "Jehovah" would not be providing any more!

ok, so i dont want to be a negative bitter person...and we all love little kids, but i am just so torn about the new video just uploaded on jw.org.

if you havent watched it yet, have a look at it...."an animated series that touches hearts".

(yes, its well done...and they certainly like to do a lot of boasting about their technical skills etc...).

I find it particularly chilling watching AM III interacting with the cartoon Caleb like some kind of cuddly jovial uncle figure, having seen the REAL man in action on other videos where he can be seen coldly instructing parents to practically force their teenage children into 'voluntary' baptism then completely shun them if they dare to break any of WT's super controlling rules including using their young minds for independent thought and attempting to break free from the restraints of the cult. He shows no mercy and no concern whatsoever for any danger they might be in having been thrown out into a world they are totally unprepared for.

He is certainly no kind cuddly uncle figure on THOSE videos!!

Liitle children be warned! That smiley faced kind looking man acting like Walt Disney, handing Caleb the sheet of paper at the beginning of the video, is not who he seems.

He is actually a very cold, calculating leader of a cult who will put pressure on your parents to

force you into baptism before your 16th birthday by depriving you of a driving licence unless you comply and do the deed.

He will then order your parents to throw you out of the house and shun you when you behave like a normal teenager and break one of Watchtower's multitude of draconian rules forbidding such things as independent thinking or having sex. You will be thrown out into a world you are totally unprepared for with no family or friends to turn to as they will all treat you as though you are dead. There will be no mercy. Mercy is forbidden as it would indicate disloyalty to Jehovah on behalf of the family member or friend showing compassion towards tou. Even your own MOTHER.

Caleb is a cartoon character and will never grow up and face this nightmare scenario but you will.

there are a million of them and mine is by no means the most important question to ask them if i only had one shot at it.

but, i have always wondered what kind of bs excuse they would give as an answer to this question: "brother goober bum, given that there are both male and female partakers here on earth who claim to be of the 'anointed' and plan on being of the 144,000 ruling with christ in heaven for eternity........ why are the female 'anointed' treated as submissive, second class citizens and why is their opinion on doctrinal matters, matters of teaching and reproving, anything at all.... why are they not recognized while here on earth even though you claim that jesus has selected them to become angels to rule with him?

Why is the average rank and file member's faith so fragile that you have to stop them from doing their own research?

Surely if this is the truth and all other teachings are lies

it would not be so easy to put doubts in their minds and cause them to wake up to the truth about the truth which is what is happening to them in droves now they have access to the internet!

All my self confidence was eroded within a few years of becoming a jw as a teenager. I remember one of the first lessons I was taught was that as a female my brain was tiny compared to a male's and I was ruled by emotions instead of reason which is why I would always be inferior. I was grammar school educated and read a lot, and was often asked by my male peers within the congregation to help them with information for their talks but, of course, I could never stand on the platform and give that information in my own right as I was not allowed to teach the superior males.

You only have to watch those dreadful Caleb videos and the way Watchtower depict Caleb's neurotic mother to get an idea of how women are viewed by the Society. Disgraceful the way they are still getting away with this attitude!

it seems some inactive ones and active jws are hardly ever bothered by the elders while others are constantly called, checked up on, etc...... what gives?.

Just out of interest, how long after fading can you get df'd? I've been out over 2 decades and I'm getting sick and tired of keeping quiet so I don't offend anyone or cause them to have to shun me, and feel it is more important to start using my acquired knowledge regarding TTATT to try and help my jw family to wake up! I'm willing to take that chance but would like to know where I stand.

Hubby and I faded with no questions asked many years ago despite both of us coming from quite prominent families within the borg. My father had been the PO of our congregation at one time! We have both kept very low profiles over the years and never ruffled any feathers so I guess that is why they have left us alone, yet others do the same and get hounded! Makes no sense!!

I have no doubt in my mind I would be df'd if they asked me how I really feel about "Jehovah's chosen Organisation' lol.

One language in the new system

so at the convention, one of the talks was about how all people will speak a single language in the new system.

my ears perked up when i heard at the outset "now, we can't be dogmatic about this" because that immediately makes me think that they're backing away from a previously dogmatic stance.

he went on to say that everyone will be speaking hebrew in the new system because "evidently" (another word that gets my ears to perk up these days) that was what was spoken before the languages were confused at bable.

Everyone will speak like Anthony Morris III and dress in tee shirts bearing the image of Sparlock on the front and a trash can on the back.

Now excuse me while I nip out through the back of my wardrobe into my favourite land of make believe.

in some ways i just have to admire wt for the amount of crap they can take and despite this can keep it from the r&f, and still keep coming up smelling of roses.

you think about all the dramas they have had and can yet still keep showing an increase - all be it in internet deprived developing countries.

but even still an over all increase is still an increase.

Salute them for breaking up our families and stealing our lives plus all the things that jookbeard mentioned? NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have had over a century of free reign to use their clever propaganda and mind control tactics to build up such a huge international money making business using free labour, but now we have the internet to expose their lies. It won't happen overnight, but they are definitely starting to feel the pressure now otherwise they wouldn't be working so hard to get apostate youtube videos banned before the rank and file get a chance to see them!!!
