  Deprogramming... yourself.

  so, the title pretty much explains it.. .

  i've come to a pretty definite conclusion for myself as to where i stand, and how i feel about the existence of a deity- let alone the idea that wts has divine backing.. .

  my issue is that, being born in, i have lots of subconsciously ingrained phobias and behaviors burned in so deep, i constantly catch myself thinking and reatcting to things the "witness" way- things that don't apply to my life or the way i (want to) live my life anymore.. for example, because of the way i've been raised and indoctrinated, i've grown a serious aversion- you could say almost a literal fear- of worldy people; girls in particular.

  Interesting WingCommander, I too disliked "witness girls", they were/are exactly as you say, always looking for the "MS" or "Elder" or bethelite. Stuck up, self absorbed etc, you named it. My "first" was with an older witness woman, she at least had some maturity to negate the other crap. It all ended the same though, witness chicks = lame.

  Confliction, to add to the good advice already mentioned, the only way you'll get deprogrammed is to start hanging out with worldy girls. Don't be afraid to talk to them when the moment arises, a simple smile and a simple hello is all that you need to say and the possibilities are endless. Just be yourself and don't be quick to jump in and have sex with the first one that gives you attention. If you do, just be safe and use condoms.

  Remain Close to the Governing Body DC

  i just finished all 3 days of the dc and, for what it's worth, wanted to get down some of the highlights i enjoyed.

  i went with family and i only did it for them, and hope to never attend another assembly ever again.. .

  the whole thing was pretty boring and uncomfortable due to the stadium style seating which doesn't favour my long legs and ac being blasted too high.. .

  How to explain blood fractions are still blood to someone who doesn't agree...

  i understand that the number of people who join the wt is roughly equal to the number of people who leave.

  there's a small difference, overall, but in some countries the number of those leaving might even be slightly above the number of those joining.

  and this has been a problem for ever.. i would like some insight into the minds of those who stay in, not because of family reasons, not because of fear, old age, parental control, but because they really believe the scam.

  Was I the only one growing up as a kid looking at these pictures and just thought, where are the roads? Where are the vehicles, how are we going to travel to get to where this picture is? How are we going to get our clothes? How are we going to get our wood for our homes made into lumber? If there are sawmills where are we going to get the metal ore smelted and formed into saw blades? Will there be airplanes, boats, ships, trains? Who is going to mine the oil for fuel? How are we going to have electricity?

  I mean, as a kid I had questions damn it. I would ask my mom and grandfather and all I would get is we don't know, we'll have to wait and see.

  Oh another thing that I wondered about, after the big A, who is going to clean up all that destruction? If we are and there are only .01% of the population left of 6 billion people (math may be off) how are we going to clean all of that up in 1 thousand years.

  I think as a kid, my bullshit radar was going off but didn't know it.

  Were you suprised at how little the "world" knows about JW's

  i was a jehovah's witness for 10 long years and during that time i developed the opinion that most of the world knew what we believed, but chose to ignore it and go about doing their own thing.

  then in the almost 18 years i have been out, i have come to understand that the outside world knows very little about jw's.

  other than they don't take blood transfusions and do not celebrate holidays, most people have no idea what we believe and only think of them as another offbeat religion among many.. did anyone else think that the jw religion was more known than it actually is?.

  It's like the Watchtower being the most read magazine in the world post... Most read? Not likely, most distributed or printed? Maybe. But the proof is in the pudding. What really do people know about JW's?

  The WBTS should print a book called 'What do the Jehovah's Winesses Really Teach?' 192 page book on how they shun, harbor pedophiles, not accept blood transfusions but accept blood fractioned transfusions (what?), do not celebrate anything (accept Memorial, anniversaries, uh..), no higher education, slave labor at HQ, hypocritical teachings and love bombing (aka mind control indoctrination).

  lol...

  oh wait, they already did print that book, it's called Keep Yourselves in God's Love.
