  i'm afraid of starting a new post because i've stepped on a few feet here with my last post... but i still love you guys.. last night i went home to find my wife and her friend on the couch with the bible, ready to show me how i'm wrong and exercising "apostate thinking".

  my wife said, "i am unable to fight you with the bible because you know more than me about it.

  but k** knows more and will be able to show you how you are wrong.. so my wife went into the other room so as not to be stumbled by my discussion.

  Have your JW Relatives Explained about Generation/Overlap Change to You ?

  after reading on the way out's thread about his mom explaining the generation overlap to him it kicked this idea into my head to make this thread .

  i thought it would be helpful to see if anybody here has had jw relatives or friends try to explain this " generation overlap " theory to you as a faded or inactive witness and what happened in the conversations.

  so please feel free to post your experiences.

  Actually, that's pretty funny MrFlipper. You were just repeating to her the watchtowers instruction on the new generation and then she responds with that statement. It's so in your face ridiculous that they don't even see it!

  Just talked to a brother in the service department and he hung up on me!

  ok so last sunday was my last meeting.

  i have been in contact with the service department over this problem with the child molesters in my hall, i have written many, many letters begging for help, i have gotten nothing for help from them, but to wait on jehovah and pray more study more, etc.

  so i want them to know that they they win they have weeded me out from the "truth" i am a bad seed from satan as i cannot abide by how we handle child molesters.

  I think that any of the active witnesses that actually believe the WBTS bullshit are the false prophets. They're going from door to door prophesying that the end is coming "soon", this "generation." So maybe 5 million of them actually believe it wholeheartedly? I would consider that "many."

  You haven't stepped on my toes, I like reading your posts. They get a bit accusatory at times but hey man, its all good, like wasblind said, speak your mind this ain't the KH!

  As to your experience, I found it quite interesting, but I will say BD, BE CAREFUL! I know she gave you her reassurance that she will keep your convo in confidence, but man, she could easily slip into defense mode and call you out and get you in trouble. However, it is great that she had a moment where something hit her, something just entered her consciousness and delivered a (I hope) a sledgehammer hit to that crack that was already there.

  You know this person best, be subtle in your tactics to getting her to think, this person may be your biggest ally in getting your wife to see the light. Especially since your wife was the one that introduced her into the conversation. I hope and pray for you and your situation that everything comes out peacefully.

  toward the end of my meeting attendance, i started to pay attention (as best as i could) to what was being said and that was truly the final nail in the coffin.. when you actually decipher the "reasoning" of the "truth", you can't help but see things clearly..

  I did what brizzy did. Cherry picked points to remember when I got quizzed on the way home. Other than that, spaced out and daydreamed. Or dreamed of a cute girl in the hall. Anything but listen to the droning talks.

  ever since i was a kid, i felt so lucky - so lucky (i know, i know) that out of all the religions in the world, i happened to be born into a family that practiced the one true religion in all the universe.

  it seemed much to good to be true, but i always thought it was such a happy coincidence.

  my immediate family and grandparents were jehovah's witnesses.. .
