Wow. I'm laughing because it's cute. but I have to ask, what spurred her to ask that in the first place? Has she heard you speak against being a JW or something.
Kids are smarter than we give them credit for.
monday night.
service meeting.. we're sitting there and my daughter (9-years-old) is sitting between my wife and i. my wife doesn't like it when she sits between us but my kids argue alot.
so we keep two kids at opposite ends and one in the middle.. out of the blue, she taps me on the shoulder and whispers: "daddy, are you an atheist?".
Wow. I'm laughing because it's cute. but I have to ask, what spurred her to ask that in the first place? Has she heard you speak against being a JW or something.

one night you are driving down a dark road.
another car swerves into your lane and hits you head on.
you wake up days later and discover you are paralyzed.
I agree that there are pro's and con's to disfellowshipping ..for example loud disturbances can't to tolerated at meeting places.
Wait, what? Unruly people should be disfellowshipped? Just ask them to leave, they come back, tell them they are no longer welcome.
There are no pro's or con's to DF'ing. Period. People that commit a crime get sent to prison, but they are not shunned, at least not complete shunning, they still talk to and interact with fellow prisoners. They break a religious rule? Fornicate, sin in some way (read: not commit a crime mind you, I'm just talking basic "sins") then revoke their membership and say have a nice day. But that doesn't mean you treat them like shit.
Treating like someone as the disfellowshipping done by JWs is inhumane. No one should be treated like they do not exist. No one should have to look down or away from another human being because of some stupid religious rules. Animals get more respect than someone shunned, it's wrong.
Someone is a threat to society then do something about it, try him, convict him if found guilty send him to prison or rehab, or counselling. Maybe even the death sentance if they committed an atrocity. But don't treat him like he doesn't exist.
Oh and yes, I'm pretty passionate about this, I've been DF'd twice. Trust me, their is nothing "pro" about it, in fact all it did was train me how the system works and worked the system after getting reinstated the second time. No good came from it.
hi just a quick question.
i know some of you here are stil in kingdom hall.
i am looking for an article in watchtower ( it was a study article) about 5 month ago where they said that we are not to hold hands with our loved ones during prayer time.
When I read that last year I thought, WTF! Now prayer circles always freaked me out, felt like it was a seance or something, but holding hands, wrapping your arms around your mate? Good god man, get over yourselves GB!
a few months ago two jw women caught me unexpectedly, so they talk about the.
usual jw none sense.
the nite before i was reading and researching the nephilim.. more proof to disclaim the flood.
cameo-d, I've never heard of that rendition of Noah's Ark. That sounds pretty far-fetched. Then again, a lot of things stemming from the bible are far-fetched so I'm not surprised.
she asked me if i am christian.
i told her that i was raised as a jw, but i do not go to the kingdom hall.
she says that she watch charles stanley and franklin graham on tv.
Why does that even need to be said, "I used to be a JW?" Really. If I met a chick (OOPS I MEAN WOMAN) that told me that she 'used to be catholic" I would think she was still holding on to something in her past and not letting it go. Makes you wonder what else she can't let go, like maybe an ex? Maybe drugs?
In short, let it go dude. You are not a practicing JW, any reference to being a JW only puts you in a negative light to the woman... actually, in your case, probably girl since you sound immature and always post about your girl chasing escapades.
looks like other churches are trying to control their members use of facebook.
comments?.
neptune, n.j. a new jersey pastor is telling his married church leaders to delete facebook or resign.. the rev.
Miller already had asked married couples among his 1,100 congregants to share their Facebook passwords with each other. He says the reaction to that request was mixed.
Anyone that listens to this asshat and does this is an idiot and asking for trouble.
it is pretty interesting to see the mental, emotional and physical impact that people have when realize the teachings of the org are lies.
i am not going to name any names or point fingers but i can say i have tremendous empathy for those who are recently aware.. let me splane,.
now that i know about the lies that i have been taught and subsequently taught people myself, i have become like a lost person.
In short, once you find out that everything you have believed, lived for and sacrificed so much for is false, it is torture.
Felt the same way the first 3 months. Then I realized I needed to fill the negative void/feelings with positive. That lead me on the search. Picked up a few books that people recommended here on this site which then lead me to pick up some books on Buddhism and meditation. Then BAM! No negative feelings, in fact, great positive energy and thoughts.
The trick is once you leave, start filling the void with positive anything. Read the bible without WT trash, that helped me a ton too, I still read passages to reflect on throughout the week.
JW's have been beat to death with worthlessness and making them feel less than an ant, that once we leave, if you don't replace that void, those feelings of guilt will creep in and ransack your soul.
It's war. War with yourself and war with the WTS. We all have our fight internally with it when we leave or start leaning towards leaving.
i bet people has forgotten me but thats ok because i know they have helped me a lot on here.. .
anyways i think the last time i been on here i mentioned my jw sister not going to my wedding.
for those that do remember my story, the wedding was beautiful on the beach in key west, fl!
So I'm a bit confused...
You're currently DF'd right? Got married to a so-called "worldly" guy correct? Your husband is uncomfortable with you going back, but you're going back only because you want to be reinstated to be able to talk to family. But turn right around and fade out...
So what you're saying is, you want your cake and eat it too. Get the best of both worlds. Sane "worldly" husband, yet get to associate with the cult nut jobs still in.
Good luck! I wish you the best and I hope you're ready for the mental gymnastics!
"I wonder if he knows abou being quoted by the Watchtower. Does anyone know how to contact him?"
That was the first question I asked after reading this post. Someone should point him in the right direction and have him go after them.
ok, this matter has troubled me for some time now.
jw aren't allowed to use the morning after pill, since it can cause an early abortion.
principle of sanctity of life comes to mind.. what about the regular pill?
I haven't seen, more because I don't read the magazines, but can you post some quotes that say that taking the morning after pill or anything on contrception is wrong?
Pretty insane isn't it? Pretty soon they'll come out with an article on what brand of toilet paper to use to wipe ones ass.
