  My responses/feedback/.02 cents:

  1) They teach about their god Jehovah, but they love themselves more, promoting and praising themselves throughout their articles weekly. When they die, they will just be dried up bones and not go anywhere, they teach that only 144k will go to heaven though. Yup, sounds familiar.

  2) If .001% of the worlds population being JW converts doesn't equate to a dead religion, I don't know what does. Yup, sounds familiar.

  3)Sworn oath: Baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and God's Spirit-Directed Organization. Yup, sounds familiar.

  4) The WTS has so many Rules and Regulations© that go beyond the scriptures it's laughable. Their Watchtower study lacks meat, lacks substance there is no spiritual fortitude behind the study. Yup, sounds familiar.

  5) In appearance through their publications they present themselves clean, white, holy. UN NGO incident, nuff said. Yup, sounds familiar.

  6) Can't say it better than that. Yup, sounds familiar.

  7) If Jesus were to come back today, the WTS would disfellowship him and kill him if they could.

  1. Does he show by his example that he is putting the Kingdom 1st?

  2. Does he teach his family to put the Kingdom 1st?

  Translation to 1 and 2: Kingdom 1st = Organization 1st.

  3. Does he respect and obey what has been published by the FDS?

  Respect and obey = punish and enslave the flock.

  4. Do his speech and conduct reveal that he is a spiritual person?

  Conform conform conform!

  5. How is this decision or attitude viewed by the congregation?

  Encouraging gossip and slander if one is not a conformist.

  6. Why is his child pursuing higher learning?

  Gee, I don't know, maybe to be able to have a decent career to support a family some day?

  7. Does his Family have theocratic goals?

  Theocratic goals: Slaving for the organization for the rest of your life.

  8. Does this pursuit of learning push out meetings and service?

  This question just stinks of them encouraging retardation within the R&F. If not that than at the least they want brain atrophy so the R&F don't question anything or use critical thinking skills.

  The more I read this the more hate I have for the WTS. I need to let it go, I need to let it roll off my back. But after being lied to your whole life and coming to that realization... I just want to let out a primal scream.

  it's creepy that they require you to "study" for all meetings and show that you "underlined" to get reinstated.. think about that for a second.

  before they let you back in they make you prove that you have been at least partially re-indoctrinated.. i mean, in the end, what does "underlining" really prove?

  Surely not all elders do such awful things....

  GrandmaJones, I wish I could say the same. I have moved and traveled through the states and internationally enough to know firsthand that the majority are just there for the power trip. I have seen so much abuse to not just myself, but by a lot of my good friends by these elders it's abysmal. I've seen good friends turn into the worst enemies when they got appointed to Elder or Ministerial Servants. They flaunted their new badge of authority around like it was gold, they were the new Sheriff in town and they made sure everyone knew it.

  Are you serious? They look at the Watchtowers and books? You must be joking!

  From personal experience (DF'd twice) I'm serious. They do look at Watchtowers and books. I am not joking.

  The only thing I learned by being DF'd is how to work the WTS system and learning how disgusting the organization is. Bad on me for getting reinstated the second time because a dear family member died and let myself crumble under the love-bombing I received.

  Higher education such as a college or university education has no value, it's expensive, and a sign of a lack of faith in Jehovah if you encourage your children to pursue.

  Wow. Just wow. Only an uneducated person or group would make this statement. Or a person or group that has something to hide by making sure their members are as dumb as rocks. What do you have to hide WTS? The truth™ about the lies that you are covering up or spewing blatantly from the platform.

  this from an e_mail site.. governing body member john (jack) barr has died (or, "completed his earthly course") on saturday, december 4, 2010.. bro barr died at walkill aged 97 after 71 years of full time service - 23 years as a member of the governing body in new york ..

  Anyone know how the departments are now being divied up?

  I've just thought on this a bit more and wanted to add to it. Barr just died this past Saturday night, tomorrow (Wednesday) is the weekly scheduled GB committee meeting, this is probably going to be on the agenda for discussion.

  I wonder who took over Jaracz spot in the Service department and what department was Barr heading up? Writing? Teaching? Would be nice if any of our bethel insiders could let us know what the current line-up/breakdown of the GB members assignments.

  i was thinking back to all the years i pioneered and all the money i wasted.

  my husband and i would go through three tanks of gas a week.

  granted gas was about a $1.50 a gallon then but it still cost us about $216.00 a month or $2,592 a year.

  The WTS beats into the members heads that they are worthless, undeserving, sinful creatures and even after slaving for years for them they still say you haven't done enough, you're still worthless, unworthy of God's kindness and love. Sounds like a great religion cult doesn't it?

  But we now know the truth LITS, we know better than to feel that way and even then it's a constant struggle to combat those feelings of years of indoctrination. Hang in there, keep fighting the negatives with the positives and when you think you're about ready to give up, lean on your friends to give you a hand.

  So the GB is down to a mere 7 members?!?

  Yes.

  That's pretty significant.

  Yes again. I bet we hear an appointment within the next year or at least at next years Annual Meeting. I could see 2 being appointed at once to fill the holes.

  Right now the remaining body has to be stretched thin through the departments. Most are doubled or tripled up on various committees. Anyone know how the departments are now being divied up?

  Okay, here is my take on the crackdown on elders children going to college and allowing them to continue as elders.

  1) It sets up a double standard within the org. Talks are given to enforce no higher-education to the R&F and then they turn right around and see Elders kids enrolled. Causes a WTF? moment and doubts start.

  2) The biggest percentage (imo) of increase in North America, UK, Canada, any other developed countries, are born-ins getting baptized. Letting the Elders get away with this institutes #1 above and leads to more falling out of the org.

  So this Elders Manual accompanied by the KM school is really showing the course direction that the org is taking. The hammer is coming down!
