Ladies, be careful what you send us guys out for...
by Jim_TX inso this morning, i was out and about.. the wife tells me to bring home a couple of christmas stockings to hang, so that we can put our small goodies in them.
(we have some already, but they're in storage, and we don't feel like digging through several storage boxes just to find them.).
all the places have very little left, and people are madly buying up what is left.. .

LOL! Awesome! I think the best part was your wife laughing, you did what you were told and you made due with what you could find. Good for you sir!

If Genesis isn't taken literally, who's sin did Jesus die for?
by unshackled inthis is an interesting blog post by the author cj werleman - write of the books god hates you, hate him back and jesus lied - he was only human.
he writes with a good dose of humor which usually helps get his point across.. the blog post dissects the latest gallup poll results regarding 40% of americans believe in biblical creationism.
but the point i found interesting in it was that if you don't believe the genesis account is literal....then jesus atoned for the sin of a fictitious character, adam.. here is a quote from the blog...but please give the whole thing a read, makes more sense that way:.

Good god... there goes the thread.
Jesus (or whatever you call him, thats not the point really) came to earth to show man the way to the light, life and all that good stuff. To lead us (edit) to his father the true God Almighty. Not Jehovah of the OT. He's the jealous, self-serving, murderous and conviving one.
God Almighty is a god of light, and what does darkness have with light? Absolutely nothing. Therefore, whoever this god Jehovah is, isn't a god of light.
AGuest, I need to ask, where do you get calling Jesus/Yeshua?:
JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH.
I'm not looking for a "he told me himself" answer too. I'm looking for supporting references. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, although, I have a hard time taking you seriously. But I am trying to give you the benefit of the doubt... but truth be told, it's difficult.

does today's daily text fly in the face of disfellowshipping and shunning?
by therevealer in*** es10 p. 126 december ***.
friday, december 24. happy are the peaceable, since they will be called "sons of god."-matt.
5:9.. if we are the kind of people whom jesus had in mind, we are peaceable and do not render injury for injury to anyone.

Of course you bring that out and some elder or hardline JW will say to shun a disfellowshipped one is what we're supposed to do according to ANOTHER (cheery-picked) scripture.
The WTS has so many contraditions in it's publications it's bordering on retardation. There is no HOLY SPIRIT guiding anyone up there in Brooklyn.

So it's now official: Kingdom Mind-Control Cult. Excellent. Now that we have that out of the way, lets get back to our daily beatings until morale improves shall we?

DEMONS
by Band on the Run ingrowing up in the fifties and sixties, stories of demonic possession were prevalant in the watchtower and awake.
i was terrified.
we were told they would bother you if you were faithful, but also if you fell away.

Soldier77
I'm sorry, but some of the experiences of demon activity is pretty hilarious. Any person that has studied psychology can tell you the how and why you 'thought' you saw, felt or heard something.
A couple weeks ago my mother (active JW) said I should be afraid of Satan and his demons. I told her directly, I don't fear Satan or his demons, they have no control over me. She said I would be very careful with saying that. I asked Why? You think Satan or one or many of his demons is going to show up and do something? She said, Yes! I just laughed and said, if Satan or his demons show up I have a few questions I like to ask them about the 'rebellion in heaven'. She just shook her head and walked away.
It's silly!
