so there i am, on a rented boat soaring down the canals of the famous "floating market" of thailand.
it was about 12:30 pm, so most of the waterways were fairly cleared out of the merchant boats, so our rented boat was really moving to get to where our host wanted to take us this fine day.
i was sitting at the very front of the boat, so i didn't get splashed by the mirky canal waters of the mekong.
Same question as Broken Promises. I'm thinking of traveling to Thailand soon and wonder how it is for us westerners to go there with all of these riots etc.?
I'm sure it's only in certain areas of Bangkok? Or is it wide spread. I'm trying to be informed so I apologize if I sound ignorant.
it seems the watchtower leaders believe that if you were to think about leaving the organization (and listen to "apostates") that you must have a place to go in return.
they feel you must have something, if you were to not accept the organization.
you need hope and belief in something.
I have been asked this question a few times in the last few months repeatedly from my mom and her husband. Each and every time they ask, "where else will you go or where else do we go?". Always misquoting the scripture. I know where I am, I don't need to go along with the train off the cliff, and I sure as hell don't need to be part of an organization that is false and demonic.
Trying to explain that to a mother and step-father that have been in the org for a collective 70+ years is hard to do with that amount of mind control and brainwashing. But I love my mother and I like her husband, so because of that love I am determined to get them out as well as anyone else that I can help.
I don't think I can take much more of faking being a dub... it's like living a contradiction to my self...

It doesn't say outright that he ate the bread as it says of the wine, but we can assume that since he did drink the wine that he would have also ate the bread too? I mean that is a better use of the phrase "evidently he also ate of the bread", right?

Do you happen to have a scan of the original? I would like to verify the validity of these letters. This is very powerful ammunition but before I load it into a gun and fire, I want to make sure it won't blow up in my face.

I wonder if this letter was read at our hall. When I first saw this topic a couple weeks ago I thought, hmm, no wonder all the mags were stacked up in the back on the counter... Then this past Sunday I show up to the meeting and go to the back to grab a study WT and the mag bro looked in the old binder that had my old order and gave me what they had there...
So now I wonder if it was read or not. I know I missed a couple Thursday nights, so it could easily have been then, but they are still doing it the old way? WTF!

now the non-american brothers and sisters are the majority, and, unless i'm wrong, much of the growth is taking place in countries like mexico, brazil and others.
Well see heres the thing with that dgp.
WBTS is an american corporation. So to be on the board of directors i.e. "work" for the corporation, you would have to be a US citizen or be on a work visa. Which I would expect would be next to impossible to get for a so called "minister". Besides, they only promote ones that are in the "inner circle" not just some second class anointed from another country.
Okay, that last sentence was speculative, sorry.

The HQ is based in the states and everything comes that point. They call the shots, as for who specifically, I would guess, as some have pointed out, that it's the lawyers that are calling the shots. At least on what gets rolled out to the org, but it still comes from the GB.
So GB makes the $#!@ up, then clears it through legal, then when approved gets the writing, teaching and service committees rolling. The rest is a trickle down effect from that point out to R&F.

Interesting comments at the bottom. You can tell the JW response "I really thought a cult was a secretive society that you new nothing about." Obvious JW mind controlled answer. Most hardline JW's heck most period, think that way. They evidently don't have dictionaries as well. Anyone see a trend here?
