Being told as a brother that I should "reach out" to higher levels of service and of the rewards that would bring. So I did. Come to find out I'm too good at managing and organization skills within the hall, I was assigned the literature dept (not appointed as an MS), KH maintenance and sound. I got everything reoganized, efficient and spread the work load around so no one person was stuck with something. Elders were all praise and happy, each telling me that there is a lot in store for me with the organization and that the next CO visit will be an exciting one for me. (Pretty obvious they were hinting about MS appointment.)

Weellllll.... CO came, he got my recommendation, looked at my files, saw I was DF'd twice, called the branch, branch said, nope, he comes back and sits with me and the CoBE and tells me what a fine job I've done but they're going to strip all privileges because of my record until the branch can get back to them about what to do with me.

WTF? What is in my file? I didn't murder anyone, I didn't molest a child, or anything criminal. That was the begining of the end for me. If I were able to rip peoples heads off it would be a long list of elders, CO's, DO's, Branch Overseers... hell all the way to the top.

The whole "privacy" issue in Bethel was one of the show stoppers for me to sign up. I made the Bethel trip when i was 15 and smelled the bullshit then!

The GB is the wicked servant. They always skip or gloss over that part of the scripture when (if) it's read. Great post.

one is titled: unity identifies true worship and the other christian unity glorifies god.

of course it is more uniformity, not true unity.

So even thought Jesus said the HE is our mediator to God, the GB is saying that THEY are our mediator to Jesus, who then mediates to God from them...

I want scriptural eveidence that shows that one. Oh wait, THERE ISN'T ANY! Some one should call up the service desk and tell them to stop practicing faginometry.

What is truth? Discussion with my mother

i asked this question to my mother and her husband the other night in a heated debate about the falsehood that the wbts is teaching its members.

i reasoned that their teachings are a contradiction and how can one live their life in truth, in honesty, without deceit or lies if they accept contradiction within ones faith?.

so again i asked them, "what is truth?

I think I'll take Black Sheep's advice and let them stew on that conversation for a while. They're leaving to go back home this weekend so we'll see what transpires.

I haven't outright told them that I'm leaving the org, but you would have to be daft to not get that idea by the way I've been talking about it.

VoidEater, I too am shocked that they admitted as much to me. After all of that her husband said that he still thinks that it is the true religion. Which makes me shake my head, because I truly believe that it is a matter of the time that they invested/wasted all these years being loyal to the org, in their heads they believe that the org = God's.

It saddens me that people that should have wisdom and experience can't see the whole picture.
