They simply will not believe that other faiths are preaching the good news world wide. They need to take the blinders off!

I feel sorry for you. Too bad you could not find the support you needed on the outside.

Does a JW know how to preach with out slandering other religions?
by Little Imp inone of the first things i noticed when attending a kh is how the person on the platform always resorted to slandering other religions during his talk.
it reminds me so much of a party political broadcast just before an election.
as soon as the candidate starts slandering the opposing party i just switch off.. i am not interested in what everyone else is doing wrong i want to know what they are going to that's right.

I was sick of hearing other faiths being put down as false religions. The JW organizations believes that they know what other faiths pratice.Yet they do not!

Is My Co-worker a JW?
by White Dove inin my nervousness, i inadvertently deleted a well thought out post.
here is the short version:.
my co-worker shuns me completely unless i ask him work related questions.. he treats everyone else nicely and jokes with them, but not with me.. he can't bring himself to even look in my direction.. when i walk up to the area he's in, he hightails it to somewhere else.

I live in a small town and have been studying with two nice witnesses. However, there is nothing about their Truth that is acceptable. I have pointed out many errors in their information. The study is just about over and I absolutely will not be a witness. Question,if I run into them which in this town I am certain to do, will they speak to me.

WHO ARE THE FALSE PROPHETS TODAY?
by Dogpatch inwho are the false prophets today.
by barbara anderson.
in 1991, one of the watch tower societys senior writers, colin quackenbush, told me in the privacy of his office about letters which the society had received from prominent and credible elders, not apostates (thats exactly what he said), who were concerned about the increase in accusations saying that jehovahs witnesses were false prophets.

Do the JWs believe lying is a sin? It puzzles me that they proclaim their faith to be the only truth, and still refuse to acknowledge the false preditions.

Ann Rice and a new direction
by designs inann rice's decision to leave the catholic faith over what she saw as lapses in ethics and morality brings an interesting focus on how people conceive of a religion's leader and the message that leader tried to expound.. the humanitarian and social gospel are not new but ann saw its importance in her own spiritual journey.. during the 20 year period when i was actively writing to the society to embrace charity work and setup food banks and other social and envirnonmental networks i saw the mental roadblocks that were set up in favor of the d2d only work.
in fact most of the witnessess i talked to were surprisingly opposed to charity work unless for their own and even more surprisingly out and out opposition to environmental work.. so here is ann staying with a concept of jesus she feels is workable but leaving organized religion.. so what message do you take away from a figure like jesus or some other spiritual/philosophical leader, what is workable for you now.. .

I saw her on a news show. She does not like the bibles stance on homesexuality and some other issues. God is not going to change the bible to please mankind. It is our foundation.

They have a table at the local Walmart now
by life is to short inomg i just heard this morning that they have a table set up at the local walmart, so i had to drive by.
it is huge with two huge signs one spanish and one english of blown up pictures of some of the book covers like you can live forever and young people ask, etc with a card table in the middle and two very boarded looking people just sitting there.
this morning was the spanish congo's turn but the walmart is in my halls territory so the english speaking ones from my hall will man it on the english speaking times i guess.

**MUST READ** AlanF's email to Knocking.org
by sf inthis is a must-read that, hopefully, will stay an "active topic" for all seekers and lurkers, by bumping it to the top as often as possible.
alan wrote it in randys {dogpatch} thread regarding knocking.org documentary and in reply to the email mr. engardio sent to barbara anderson.
however, it is so vital a read that it indeed needs its own thread:.
