i won't go through the whole account of galileo; he believed what his eyes told him, not the church, and died under house arrest.. .
the wts has these comments:.
because galileo rejected an interpretation of scripture based on greek philosophy, he stood condemned!

man i hate the predicament that this religion has put me in.
i love my mom so much and to hear her cry is the worst thing in the world.
it's so frustrating when she thinks that things are so bad b/c i'm dfd.
Hi Jardg:
Remember "To Thine Own Self Be True!!!!"
Even though it is hard right now, in the future you will not regret it.
When I told my folks that I was leaving the JWs, they said that it would be "hard for them to have a relationship with me". At first things were rather uncomfortable.
However, over the past couple of years my JW parents have lightened up significantly.
My wife and I have been out of the JWs for going on 10 years now. While we are not very close with my folks we are certainly able to communicate with them readily and they even come a visit us from time to time.
I really think in time your Mom and Dad will lighten up too.

We had a major disagreement between our CO and our BOE. It resulted in our entire BOE being deleted and then the CO sent in some other elders from a neighboring hall to run our congregation for a while.

i have a new conversion story at my website that you guys might want to read.. here is the website:.

the title is "the little frog is resurrected".
Think if I walked into a church a priest might take some time to talk with me about faith and god without trying to convert me?
Hi Cyg:

what would you have done back in the 1st century when jesus came on the earthly stage and started christianity.
would you have became his follower?
that is not the only congregation that had people problems.
You guys might find the book "The History of the Christian Church" interesting. It was written by Eusebius who is regarded as the first Church Historian. He recorded the history of the Church of the first three centuries. You can get a copy of it at amazon.com
