The New World Translation and some others use the modern term "earth" instead of land. If throughout the Bible it speaks of the earth with some purpose in mind it has application. It's also common sense that God would have some purpose for the earth. If people want to believe everyone floats off to heaven, you don't need the Bible to tell you otherwise when there's Norman Greenbaum.

Question one. From Genesis to Revelation the Bible speaks of the earth being inhabited indefinitely. Not everything in Revelation is symbolic but much of it is. The word in the original Masoretic Text can be rendered:
- Country
- Land
- Territory
- Ground
- Soil
There's a Hebrew word for earth, but it didn't exist when the Hebrew scriptures were sealed. The Hebrews that wrote the Bible didn't understand "the land" to be a planet.

There will likely be a reconditioning of the biologic and genetic makeup of humans and animals. There are broken genes in humans and animals that could contribute to nutrition if they were functional.

There are a few JW apologists here - Alice, DJeggnog, MadJW, - who, even though they have different styles, all debate in a way that is obviously so grossly dishonest that there is really no way to differentiate it from lying. I personally don't think proven liars should be tolerated here. If I were the board Mod I'd probably ban them. But such moves are often met with opposition as some value freedom of speech - even blatantly dishonest speech - above all else. So I doubt you'll have much success. Actually, MadJW doesn't so much debate as just..... bait. Does freedom of speech include protection of the freedom to bait and be a pointless irritant? Maybe. I doubt it.
Maybe there is a case to be made for such ones being here and their deception being exposed.

this is another fine example of people who have an axe to grind with jehovah's witnesses doing a whole lot of work to produce a "smoking gun" that really is nothing of the kind.. this stems from some financial information that was released related to a lady named henrietta riley.
apparently a wealthy jw that made the watchtower society the beneficiary of the income from her trust.

No, but once a death certificate has been issued by the government and the person's assets are left to a beneficiary, they have a responsibility to handle the matter appropriately. I don't know for sure what would happen if the assets were rejected by the organization, but I assume they would be seized by the federal government. If the society can put the money to better use, it's perfectly acceptable for them to do so.

The stand taken here was in regard to interfaith, merging with other religions for political reasons. The difference between truth and error could have included any number of false teachings held by Christendom's Churches. Case in point, if you had any interest in what the truth is, you would explain it instead of taking things out of context and distorting the truth.

This should provide some insight as to how Jehovah communicated with nation of Israel. Now that the Bible cannon is sealed, direct communication isn't a means of communication used in modern society.

Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? As long as Jehovah's Witnesses consistently teach the whole truth and display the fruits of the spirit, they're not in the spotlight of Jesus' descriptive words in Matthew 7:15-20 and they can make a statement about the future without unjust criticism deterring people from the truth. The family members I know that served at Bethel said the Governing Body were men of tremendous character. Whatever the case, I resister with what a person teaches from the Bible, not insignificant idiosyncrasies people exploit that have been thoroughly settled.
