"....Sad to say, some look back on sacrifices they made in the past and view them as missed opportunities. Perhaps you had opportunities for higher education , for prominence, or for financial security, but you decided not to pursue them. Many of our brothers and sisters have LEFT BEHIND lucrative positions in the fields of business, entertainment, education, or sports. Now time has passed , and the end has not yet arrived. Do you fantasize about what could have happened had you not made those sacrifices."
Oh dear. Is there trouble in paradise? Are the rank and file waking up from their stoopified state and realizing that they've been had? Are they looking at their parents' generation and thinking "mom and dad believed Armageddon was coming in their day and they believed it so much that they never paid into a pension, never owned a home and never got anything more beyond a Grade 10 education. I don't want to end up like them so screw what the Organization says, I'm buying a house and getting an education."
Since the Writing Department is notorious for coming out with bullshit articles that minimize the ever-growing problems within the Borg itself, this one really smacks of desperation. You've got brothers and sisters in their 50s or 60s who specifically did not go to university because they were promised that there was no need for it and that there were only a few years left in this System before all our problems would be solved with a sprinkling of pixie-dust. These people are now facing retirement, they've got nothing saved, work at dead-end jobs (assuming they even have a job), and guess what? Armageddon's no closer now than what it was 40 years ago. And people are getting angry that they gave up a chance for a decent life, because a billion dollar book publishing company in New York told them to.
Do these bozos really think that people aren't going to look back and regret the decisions they made? My father's pension is half of what it should have been, because he was specifically told by his local gestapo, not to pay into his company pension plan because "Armageddon will be here loooong before you retire!" That was in 1950. Anyone think he doesn't regret the fact that he only started paying into after 1975??
Several years ago, the District Overseer (that smug, self-righteous jackass, Ernest Pandachuk) was giving a talk at the assembly when he said "Brothers; if you knew 40 years ago that Armageddon wouldn't be here by now, would you do things differently? Well you shouldn't feel that way brothers!" My father was furious and said after that that's the closest he's ever come to getting up, walking out and never going back. During the lunch break, he and some of his contemporaries got together and started talking about it. They were all pissed off and one of them said "What's he trying to do? Drive us out of the truth? Of course we'd do things differently!"
And if the morons at Crooklyn are reading this, here's a little tidbit for you: The grumblings and complaining you hear now from the rank and file, is only going to get worse. I hope you're prepared for lawsuits and god knows what else, from the next generation of Witnesses that you plan on screwing over.

Do you get to choose who you" fall in love with" ?
by caliber init's possible to choose people you get to know.
so, in learning about the people around you, it is possible that the things you learn about them could be things you appreciate or, at the very least understand.
many ex-jw's believe they married for other reasons (than love ) such as spiritual qualities or for security.

What are they saying, that the witlesses need to be screeching around at 500 km/h all day and never letting up?
That's exactly what they're saying and what they want. One way that any cult keeps control of their members is to keep them too busy to stop and think. I remember reading the experience of one woman who was pretty high up in Scientology. Holy christ, she would work 15 - 16 hours every single day. No one there ever said 'take a break' or 'you've been working too hard, you should slow down a bit'. Nope. Mental exhaustion can lull one into complacency as they continue on the treadmill to nowhere.
That's why Witnesses are still always made to feel guilty if they ever take a meeting night off or skip Saturday morning Field Serve-Us to do something unimportant, like say grocery shop, or heck even to spend some time with your kids. Holidays are "no excuse" to miss either meetings or Serve-Us either, as we've all heard over the years.
The bottom line is: they're deathly afraid that the minute you miss a meeting, or start enjoying any activities that are not Borg-related, you might start to question why on earth you're expected to do so much, when there's simply not enough time. Once that seed of doubt is planted, it's only a matter of time before you start questioning other things that make no sense. And before you know it, you're a lurker on some strange site called JWN, or you stumble across Freedminds.org or JWFacts and viola---the rest is history.
These guys are running scared because like any bully, they don't like you to question them, lest you find out that they're really just a bunch of cowardly turds.

In his Keynote Address about Armageddon, he was trying to show us how Jah's "cleansing" of the eart was necessary. So, he used the example that if your house full of ants, or cock roaches..or, or, if what about snakes.....would you just leave them alone?
Hmmmm.....or what about dumping toxic waste illegally and trying to cover it up from the New York's Department of Environmental Conservation? Should that being included on Jehovah's List of Places to Destroy?
Just unbelievable....

"NEW LIGHT" FROM BROTHER WALDO D/O SANTA MARIA ,CALIFORNIA 1/22/2012 "HOW JEHOVAH IS LIKE BROTHERS ACCUSED OF BEING A CHILD MOLESTER!
by Bubblegum Apotheosis ini was shocked to hear how the slander against jehovah's name that we see in the world can be compared to a good man accused of being a child molester.
he went on to describe how terrible such an accusation would be, and how "friends" of the accused would know he's not capable of such an act and would rally to his defense.
at several points in the talk, he refers back to the child molester "example" and how eventually, despite the hideous slander heaped on a man in this situation (depicting jehovah in the bigger picture, we assume), that man's good reputation would be restored.

I find this very interesting. They usually only have parts that are 'needy' and they must have been bombarded with questions regarding their lame-assed explanation of the 'overlapping generation' from the R&F. I remember when they had a part at the ASS-embly after the 1995 article about 'this generation' and the crap they were trying to pull. More and more Witnesses are getting tired of 'the promise' being nowhere in site and the bozos in charge are desperate.
The DO later associated Apostates with pedophiles and kidnappers. Not making this up.
Not a huge surprise there. The Elders' manual equate anyone who celebrates Christmas with pedophiles too (under what constitutes a disfellowshipping offense.) What morons.......Sorry you had to sit through that shit Watson!!!

Does Jehovah Still Call Black People the "No-No" Word?
by arko_n9ne ini feel the title is an attention-grabber, but in no means am i looking to start racial tension on jwn.. i know in the past, at least to the 50's from what i've read, the watchtower society has been very demeaning toward people of a less alabaster pigment.
in one instance saying white people were superior and god blessed them that way for good reason.. however, i have not been able to find an official statement from them in any of their printed works that either clears up or apologizes and further corrects that bold standing.. so, to those much wiser than me, is there an official statement from the watchtower identifying people of different race as equal?
and if not, to the ex/current brothers and sisters who are of an "ethnic" background, what are your feelings on the society's derrogatory statements being left unchanged 60-100 years later?.

Here's a couple of quotes I found on the subject. No apology though and I wouldn't want to hang from the end of a rope waiting for one. It would all be put down to "noo light":
WT 1966 7/1 p. 391 Equality for All-Regardless of Race or Nationality
Because it is God's will, equality of rights and privileges for all races and nationalities is certain to be realized. However, it will not be as a result of any civil rights movement or present-day social reform. Prejudices and hatreds are too deeply engrained. Throughout human history man's attempts to eradicate them have miserably failed, and continue to fail. Understandably, some human observers feel inequalities are inevitable.
Yet what man has failed to do, God will soon accomplish. How so? First, by bringing about the destruction of this wicked system of things and preserving alive only prejudice-free servants of God into his new order. Then the promise of Jesus Christ, recorded in God's Word, will be fulfilled: "All those in the memorial tombs [regardless of race or nationality] will hear his voice and come out." (John 5:28, 29) Under the righteous rule of God's kingdom these multiracial, multinational resurrected ones will learn to live with one another in peace, free from previous hatreds and strife.
That an administration operated in harmony with the principles of God's Word can bring about this effect is apparent by examining the present-day organization of Jehovah's witnesses. It is a matter of public record that Jehovah's witnesses practice brotherhood of all races and nationalities, and do not merely preach it. With genuine affection they call one another "Brother" or "Sister," and they also treat one another as equals. To obtain a foregleam of how equality for all will be realized in God's righteous new system of things, associate with the organization of Jehovah's witnesses and see it in practice today.
Awake! 1987 6/8 p. 23 Part 7-1960-1969 The 1960's-A Period of Turbulent Protest I Have a Dream"
In the war of protest, students may have taken the lead, but they were not alone. For example, the U.S. civil-rights movement was supported by blacks and whites of all ages under its leader, Southern Baptist preacher Martin Luther King, Jr. In 1963 over 200,000 people marched on Washington, where King inspired them with his "I have a dream" speech.
A measure of success was achieved when the U.S. congress responded with what has been called "the greatest outpouring of human rights legislation in this century." And personal success came when King was awarded the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize.
Watchtower 1956 10/15 pp. 612-613 Is God a Segregationist?
Today true Christians follow that good example. They follow the Christian principles of love, pointing to the blessings of God's kingdom as the only real solution to all of earth's problems, and announcing that under that kingdom rule there will be no segregation on any basis but a oneness of all mankind under their Creator, Jehovah God.
Far from teaching segregation, the Bible condemns it. Paul publicly rebuked Peter for being ashamed to be seen with the uncircumcised Gentile Christians. And he wrote: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, . . . for you are all one in union with Christ Jesus."-Gal. 3:28, NW.
Then what should the true Christian do about it all? He does not spend his time trying to solve all such social problems, because neither Jesus nor the apostles took such a course. They did not agitate against Rome's occupation of Palestine or even against the actual slavery that was common then. They stayed free from such issues so that they could do their far more important work of pointing to God's kingdom as man's only hope.........Men of all races are examining the Scriptures. They are seeing this wise course and are teaching others of the glorious conditions of peace that God's kingdom soon will bring to earth. The blessings that this God-directed kingdom will provide will prove once and for all that God really does love all men who serve him, and that he is no segregationist.
