  the contrived and unrealistic conversation that one of jehovahs witnesses imagined having with a neighbor in the october 2014 watchtower will not be reproduced here.

  lurkers.... check your calendars... october 2, 2014 is only 500 days away.... look for illogical nu-lite from the wt in publications and conventions that will attempt to explain this away.. they've already bought themselves some time by splitting a "generation" into 2 overlapping generations... still, they have a lot of explaining to do... this should get really interesting... stay tuned.... .

  the flood, mammoths, elphants, and food.

  my question is since it looks as though mammoths were alive after the flood and we know elephants are then how much food was needed to feed just these four animals for the time they were on the ark.

  also was the ark, 500 feet long, big enough to hold the amount of food needed for just these 4 animals.. .

  on october 2, 1914, charles taze russell, founder of the watchtower, announced that the gentile times have ended!.

  tomorrow will be exactly 100 years since his historic announcment.. to commemorate this centennial occasion, i will gladly take bets in any amount of money that the world will not end tomorrow and that on friday, october 3rd, 2014 gmt, we will still all be here, for better or worse.. any die-hard jws interested in taking the other side of this friendly little wager?

  still hoping the big "a" is coming tomorrow and your loving god, jehovah, is going to commit mass genocide and execute 99.9% of earth's population because they don't follow the dictates the 7 members of the "faithful and discreet slave," aka, the governing body of jehovah's witnesses?.

  has been working with the fb [facebook] legal dept for about a year and also with youtube whoever they are, to enforce transparency.

  The WTS has finally reached an agreement with FB to enforce the true identity policy for anyone who wants to use facebook.

  I call bullshit on that. Anyone here really think Mark Zuckerberg gives a rats ass about the WTS and their dwindling numbers? Sounds more like this was born from the 6th Floor "Rumour Dept" in order to scare the crap out of the R&F.

  Ya. Funny I remember them saying the exact same thing when the Revelation Climax Book for Dummies first came out in what---1986? What a bunch of loons. I'm not on here that much anymore but I thought someone told me that Crooklyn has recently also said that there's "going to be a great thinning out" in the Borganization. I guess they have to try and give some half-assed explanation as to why so many are abandoning ship. How much do you want to be that they'll make it out to be "the Great Apostacy as fortold in the scriptures"?

  Jim Penton's beloved wife Marilyn died today.

  marilyn has been battling cancer for about three years and at times it looked like she would win.

  but in the last few months the cancer spread.

  OldFlame asked: Mary did I know them it has been so long since I have been around this site . I didnt even know if it were still alive . Does Simon still have it ?

  I'm not sure if you knew them or not. Jim was one of the very, very few people that got his PhD while he was a Witness and he taught at the University of Lethbridge for a number of years. He got The Axe for bringing to light many of the Borg's twisting of words to make their own interpretation of the bible seem 'correct'. He and Marilyn were lucky in that they were able to get all of their family out and I think the entire congregation was dissolved out there.

  I was actually over at their place for supper a couple of months ago and Marilyn had made a wonderful saffron rice with lots of veggies and shrimp. It was delicious. I just couldn't believe how quickly she went downhill. :-(

  I just got back from seeing Jim. I know he's in shock but he's strong and has good support from family and friends. I first met him and Marilyn about 7 years ago through Mouthy and we immediately hit it off. Marilyn was an absolute sweetheart and reminded me very much of my own mother. I know she's been battling ovarian cancer for the last few years and took chemo a couple of years ago. For a time, it seemed to have worked for her and we were all so happy.

  Then a couple of weeks ago, Jim called me at work and left a message telling me that Marilyn was in the hospital and that the cancer had come back and there was no hope. He broke down sobbing and I started to cry. I went to see her that night and was shocked at the change in her from about 6 weeks previously. I had planned on going tonight after work to see her again, but it was too late.

  I'm not sure what I believe about God or an afterlife, but if there is something beyond this life, then Marilyn has surely earned 'her wings'.

  RIP my friend.
