If you play "We Thank You Jehovah" backwards, it sounds like:
yenom eht me wohs, yenom eht me wohs, yenom eht me wohs, yenom eht me wohs.
Which forward says:
show me the money, show me the money, show me the money, show me the money
some modern music has had subliminal messages encripted into it.
some people may or may not believe that, but i'm sure the wts has written of the 'danger' of subliminals in rock music etc.
has anyone ever tested the wts kingdom melodies to see if that has any subliminal messages?

....in the organization, that you had?
did you enjoy being a pioneer or elder?
did you feel that you "were just a publisher"?
When I truly believed that this was "the Truth", I did enjoy pioneering. I enjoyed the social aspect of it, I enjoyed talking to people at the doors (I know, I know....I'm insane!) and I enjoyed giving parts at the meeting about any experiences I had.
crisis of conscience has just been delivered by mail to my office.
i wouldn't dare let it be delivered to home in case my wife found out.. i am still "in", so the question is, should i read it?
and if so, are my days as a jw numbered?.
Eyeslice, I did the exact same thing. This is definitely a must-read for any Witness, whether you stay in or leave. I've managed to stay "in", but I know eventually I will leave for good. This book is a real eye-opener and you'll know when you read it, that Ray Franz is not lying about any of it; it certainly has the ring of truth. You will know immediately why all Witnesses are warned about reading such material: because they'll find out exactly what's going on.
Be prepared though. It's emotionally devastating to many. I was stunned, devastated and disgusted when I read the part about what happened to the brothers and sisters in Malawi in the 1960s, all because of one lousy changed "vote" on the GB. I cried when I realized that thousands were tortured, raped and murdered, all on the whim of one f#cking moron in Brooklyn.
Ray's downfall from within the Borg is both fasinating and very disturbing. The witch hunt that went on at headquarters is the final proof that these men were not appointed by any "holy spirit", but by their own selfish desire for absolute power and control.

in our congregation 5 out of 11 eleven elderes have either stepped down or moved away because of difference of opinions with other elders in the past 2.1/2 years.. is the same happening elsewhere?.
eyeslice
Three years ago, we had 8 elders. Within one year, we were down to 3. Two of them were such assholes, that the remaining decent elder said "screw this, I'm outta here" which left Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum. Within 4 months, the entire city's congregations were "re-zoned" and our congregation was disolved.
I think more and more brothers are simply finding it way to difficult to be in a thankless position like this. Life is stressful enough if you have a full time job and family to look after without having to make sure you're at every meeting, study for every meeting, give talks or parts at least 3 times a week, have a bible study with your family, go out in Service at least once every week, plus deal with everybody else's problems, give shepperding calls, hassle "inactive ones", go to elder school, sit on judicial committees..........and you don't get paid one stinking dime for any of this.
I find that the only elders that remain in their positions are ones that work part time (usually they're on either disability or they inherited a ton of money from some worldly spinster aunt or uncle......god knows they never worked for it themselves), and have all the time in the world to attend to these other matters.
Most decent elders eventually step down because it's too much for them, or the little nazi's on the elder body like having things done their way, and force out anyone who disagrees with them.
if you travel a distance of 100 miles .
and the first half of the trip you go at 100 mph.
and the second half of the trip you go at 50 mph.
75 miles per hour?
hello everyone, i would like to share this :
bearing in mind this extremely revealing quote:
*** w94 1/1 20 the watchtower and awake!-timely journals of truth
Oh but what about the best ones of all......that "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" and that house they built called "Beth Sahrim" or something like that, for the resurrected Jacob, Issac and somebody else in 1925.
Those were the days..........
lately is observed some small growth in wts troops.
any idea what is causing it?
i've heard that an age of baptized new members has dropped and 9/11 makes an impact.
Growth? I only see decrease around here. I think in the last 10 years, only 3 people have actually come in from the world....everyone else is simply an offspring of Witnesses who are now grown and have families of their own.
I believe its called: fudging the figures.
subject: the year was 1903 .
what a difference a century makes!
the year is 1903 , one hundred years ago.
Maybe if you open it, Barbara Eden will come out.
some of you may recall him talking about losing 80 lbs in 8 months in this thread:.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=43882&site=3.
well here are the pics:.
It is extremely difficult to lose weight, simply because virtually everything that tastes really yummy is also very fattening. It took me getting cancer to change my eating habits. It wasn't hard at first cause I was in shock. However, I eliminated all meats (except for salmon), dairy products and all junk food and substituted them with things like veggie burgers (which were much better tasting than what I had anticipated), soy ice cream (pretty good!) and almond milk (really sweet!). I ate lots of whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables. This wasn't easy as I love virtually all foods that are bad for me. In addition, I started working out at the gym for 45 minutes 6 times a week. I lost 25 lbs. in about 6 weeks.
It's extremely hard to keep up with this, so I've incorporated some things back into my diet like chicken, yogurt and low-fat milk.
I've lost 40 lbs. now and feel a hell of alot better than I did before.
The key is: don't let that addictive part of your brain rule the roost. We all like comfort food, but we have to realize that we can't eat it all the time. Limit it to one day a week.
I've got another 60 lbs. to lose, but hopefully, I'll be there by summer.
Kudos to ANYONE who loses weight!! It's the hardest thing in the world to beat.
need a good laugh?
here are the awards for idiots of the year........... .
when his 38-caliber revolver failed to fire at its intended victim during a holdup in long beach, california, would-be robber james elliot did something that could only inspire wonder: he peered down the barrel and tried the trigger again.
Geeze, I don't have a clue where they originate from. One of my co-workers emailed it to me today and I thought I'd just post it here to give everybody a good laugh!!
