I was simply commenting on jgnats examples on literature placed as preaching work. If Gideons preach outside of this JGnat did not mention this and I have certainly never known about them preaching from Door to door.
It's understanding first what the bible means by preaching work and not putting modern ideas on what is preaching work is. Putting these in place of People preaching God's message to other People using God's word the bible specifically as part of this.

With respect witnesses produce billions of literature a year but we do count the literature as able to do it's own preaching work.
Your examples are people handing out DVD's and Bibles put in hotels that involve no actual preaching work.
The Jews had God's word the Bible and still needed to be preached to by Jehovah's son Jesus.
The ethopian eunuch was quoting from Isaiah but still needed Philip to be sent to preach to and teach him. The Bereans had the Bible but used it to test the accuracy of Pauls preaching against.
Preaching is more than just handing out DVD, Bibles and pamphlets It leads right upto the people being Baptised as Christians and then becoming preachers themselves.

even before 1914 came around, the bible students still thought 1914 would be a pivital date.

But who is the false prophet? Witness do not meet the BIBLE requirements to be false prophets they have never claimed inspiration the ability to speak words from God himself. Which is the basic requirement in DEUT 18 to be a false prophet. We have discussed this before so I hope you understand I will always disagree with you on this one.

God refines his People and yes people who are not Gods cannot be refined. Look now and see which people allow themselves to be refined from mistakes accepting they will stumble against groups which do not change for 100's years and only dig themselves deeper into false doctrines never admiting mistakes?

Jehovah's witness certainly don't have the inspired apostolic authority since those specific gifts of the spirit have ended but Paul and the other apostles under spirit clearly sets up an organised authoritive structure we should follow till Armageddon. We have clear concise instructions on this.

This is extremely clear instructions that we will have an authoritive structure but also we know it is one lacking Inspiration at this time but that makes it no less one that we should not follow as instructed. It is simply a practical measure used throughout the Bible for God's people. At no point are we meant to wander around as flockless sheep without shepherds of men among us that we give leadership dues too.

I don't particularily want to be drawn into other topics. I think it is on the table that Jw's preach world-wide to the best of their ability and whether you would argue it's effectiveness or not, it is for Jehovah himself to judge.

But if people simply don't agree with Jehovah's witnesses God-given kingdom message then that is a different subject. There is no point in me saying "Oh yes they do preach the right kingdom message" You will simply say "Oh no they don't" and that is the end of it.

I think I have said my peace on this topic but like to disgree with your statement.
I think witnesses take very seriously the direction to take care of widows and orphans and this is seen in their work in tragedy hit regions and among ourselves individually. But we are talking specifically about the primary life-giving command of the God-given preaching work itself. We do not have a pick-n-mix of what commands to follow.

The first century christians believed in One God, the Father! Witnesses are the first Christian group in 1700 years to go back to Preaching about Jehovah our Almighty God THROUGH his son Jesus and not putting his son Jesus in his father's place.

If you disagree with this fair enough. Trinitarians do indeed have a completely different understanding of the make-up of God so if they are what you consider correct you could say they have managed to get world-wide in belief but remember the scripture says.
The preaching work is preached to the entire world as a sign of the last days so they do not fulfil this requirement if they did their preaching work centuries ago.

Well it is for Jehovah to judge if they are taking and doing his direction seriously but both these IMO show they are taking it seriously.
I see no others taking this preaching work as biblically seriously or taking on the responsibility of these people afterwards too.
Your right China and a few other very governmentally controlled countries severely curtailg witnesses but that is not our doing and You mi be surprised though about how much preaching work actually is done undercover in them.
We as witnesses take very seriously our right and command to do this God-given work as God's people.
