Look, I'm as "apostate" as anyone here, but I think this issue is kind of dumb (to be honest).

Perhaps it's not a question of smaller attendence but larger stadiums? That is a possibility. And, what is really the big deal with roping off seats? I've attended classes in college where the instructor has encouraged the students to sit towards the front if there are a lot more seats than students. It's psychologically healthier to learn like that. ( Extra! Extra! Just because someone uses a psychological tactic does not mean that they are manipulators, evil, etc

whileI agree with you that the issue is certainly not like the UN,

the issue of wt attendance merely highlights that one of the selling points is how jw are the worlds fastest growing religion, how that in babylon THE WATERS ARE DRYING UP as a sign to show they lack Jah favor-

in my moms old hall the attendance was so low for the bookstudy that they combined 5 to meet on sat just to get attendance up and have a captive audience to go out in service, while it started out well, soon the elders caught on that ONLY ONE ELDER is needed to conduct and One MS to read- so most of the elders viewed it as a 1 or 2 sat off a month until it was their turn to conduct- they merely asked their YES MEN THE MS to take their bookstudy group out in service-

after while the rank and file got hip to the fact that they were beening embarassed if they left right after instead of going out in service, so after awhile they no longer accepted the IF YOU LOVE JAH YOU WILL STAY AND GO OUT IN SERVICE-

AND ACCording to my mom, some Sat when she drives by the hall it looks like 1 or 2 bookstudies instead of 5 that were combined

but your point is well taken, this is not on the level of "Aposate Late Breaking News"

Blacks and Voting

why aren't more blacks getting out and registering to vote?

Do you beleive that despite all we are exping as black folks- we could be further along regardless of what the greater society does or not?

or do you beleive that until the greater soiety accepts us a full brother and equals the conditions of the black community must remain as it is?

i'm not in anyway saying that racism is not alive and well , my only point is, OK it's here, so what do we do? I beleive that despite it we still can do better than we are, do you believe that ?

or do you believe that until every single pc of racism is removed from the land our commnity will just have to continue as is?

Am I correct in saying that you think the Black people who could have voted but stayed home during the 2000 election are responsible for Black voters being disenfranchised during said election?

####### NOPE, those who stayed home could have made a difference- i am sure more than 500 black folks in FL stayed home, I have more folks in my subdivision than that as for being disenfranchised- I agree many are, but this is the problem- if the man is completely and 100% responsible and he decides never to change his views, then following your logic, black folks are doomed since we will not be able to get beyond our disenfranchisment UNTIL THE MAN CHANGES PERSONALLy I DON'T BELEIVE we have to sit and wait until THE MAN changes his views to help ourselves, would it be wonderful if THE MAN said, "hey you and i are brothers, cut either one of us and we bleed" yea it would BUT are we suppose to wait till that announcement is made on CNN. or are there things we can do right now to improve our condition I don't deny it is happening, i just don't feel that it is something that by marching it out every 4 yrs is going to help us- as i mention - there are 2 things in life, things we can control and things we can't, to complain so loudly about the THINGS WE CAN'T CONTROL, we can't make THE MAN veiw us as his bro or equal-\ but there are things we can control, and my point stands, if we control the things we can we would be further along than we are, , would we be as far as we should be, of course not, but we certainly would be further along than we are- like i said, the bro from africa and the island show it can be done- bottom line

WE ARE INEED SEEING A new breed of jw who literally thumb their nose up at Theocratic directions and it is of great concern to the society

when i was an elder the instructor told us there was a time when the society told the elders to jump and they said HOW HIGH but today elders are asking WHY?

he talked about the need to just folllow theocratic directions without always questiong stuff

On Blood and the Bible's View

i've been talking to a young man in brussells who is devying the wts.

he has put an open letter on the internet concerning what he has learned about blood and the wts policy on no blood transfusions.

he is facing possible disfellowshipping for his views and efforts.

you have shared a very important point with this person-

in my exp most persons FAIL to prepare themselves for what will happen and as a result so many persons suffer additional mental issues that could have been avoided or at least minimized-

before one OPENS THEIR MOUTH there are a number of things they need to have in place and be mentally prepared for , IF NOT the often times suffer needlessly in my opinion-

due to the avg jw not knowing how the judical process works- they are ill prepared, unprepared and so many times they are literally beaten to death mentally speaking from spouses, family, folks in the hall and worst of all THE ELDERS-

it was good that you are there to at least help walk them thru the mindfeilds

The Internet and Apostasy

has the internet and forums like these caused an exodus from the j-dubs?

when i left in the early 1990s i met support groups through the yellow pages but it still felt like i was the only one in the world who was an apostate.

i've come to this forum in the last year to browse because my brother has now left.

I think the internet has made it easier for people to confirm their doubts about the wachtower org and made it easier for them to leave.But to look at aposate stuff on the internet you most probably are already having doubts.

Maybe in the past people had doubts but found it hard to get the relevent information to confirm them so tagged along as token witnesses , now they can easily locate information regarding the watchtoer societyI think the internet has made it easier for people to confirm their doubts about the wachtower org and made it easier for them to leave.But to look at aposate stuff on the internet you most probably are already having doubts.

Why did Jehovah act more in ancient times than he does now?

jehovah punished adam and eve for their disobedience.

Basically because he is getting old.

When he was younger and full of pep,, in the OT,, he was always beating up other nation's gods,,he got so good at it his people felt he was the god of all gods,, so they made him their king. In the NT you can clearly see signs of aging,,he sends his son because he can't make it to earth. His son get killed and he's forgiving everybody(definately getting to be an old softy) not the same old vengeful Jehovah as in his younger days.

So my guess is He's really tired and just don't have the energy to do all those miracles anymoreBasically because he is getting old.

O MY GOD NO_ i feel only pity esp for the rank and file, the old jw out in the cold selling worthless books, the kid getting picked on for no reason other than his parents have him following some of the goofiest rules ever made-

the single sister who WILL NOT GET MARRIED due to wt rules- the couple that will watch thier child die due to wt not allowing factor xyz this week, BUT NEXT WEEK THEY DO-

AND THE list goes on and on

i agree, i think that religion is more for the social aspect that the dogma, for most religions have tons of made up stuff they sell off as divine orgin=

and that is why i guess when i start asking questions they fall back on the old true and tested answer-

"YOU JUST GOTTA BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!"
