what most former jw forget is that same treatment that one gets to become a jw is oftentime what is needed when one comes
in the 8yrs of being on thenet it has always been a pet peeve of mine- seeing a jw beaten up on just fo saying the Society is gods channel, etc, what the heck do you expect a jw who still beleive to say- DUHHHHHHHHHH-\
too many former jw become the poster child in behalf of the wt and don't even realize it- the wt has clearly told jw what an aposate acts like and sure enough they come here and the former jw is just like the wt poster child and Confirms everything that the wt said about us- foaming at the mouth, etc
in my exp Honey catches more flies, yes there are some who get it when they are slapped up side the head, but in my exp "Frontal attack" produices the lowest results
i have been able to help a number of folks get out and almost all of them told me if i had jumped on them with both feet they would have ran back to the Hall for safety

That ever happen to you? It happened to me the night I was deleted as an Elder. I stepped down, so the C.O. told the Body to have me close with prayer so the Congregation wouldn't gossip about the reason why I stepped down

it is often done to show the congo that the elder is still to be treated as a bro, that the reason for his deletion is not due to WRong doing per say
it is like a "QUE" to the congo- This is what a DO told the elder body once at the sat meeting during the circiut assembly for the question had come up about the exact same thing

Do you feel that Jehovah drew you away from Jehovah's Witnesses?

" that question and the responses gave me the courage to ask the above question.
about 3 years ago, 5 publishers, including me, were disfellowshipped after jehovah led us to speak up to our elders regarding their inconsiderate treatment of victims who came to them for help.

Nope it was the Net THANG and folks like you all here to get a confirmation-
cause "if Jehovah drew one away from the Jehovah's Witnesses" then he is pretty cold bloodied to have left about 15-20 million folks behind
sorta like the folks who survive a diaster and yet will say "I prayed to god and look he protected me"
while at the same time 375 bodies are burned pass reconiztion laying on the ground from the plane crash that you survive
to use that line of reasoning means that god has left behind millions of jw kids who have to suffer, mistreatment, face life and death issues all because he only had time to draw a couple of hundred person out of the wt whiile leaving behind millions on millions

Please read what Gary said and allow the context to sink in, for he is so correct, it is this type of mindset that keeps a jw in , they must mentally adjust to accept anything the wt does, - it is often referred to as "Mental Gymnastics" by many folks online
Now this comment is a real kicker:

the above sums up the exact time a jw will leave the org and former jw and nonjw need to understand this concept, i have seen former jw talk till they are black and blue and the jw doesn't flitch-
truth- facts, proof documentation have very little to do with a person in a high control group, when you are dealing with a person who believes that you have no Spritual understanding`and can offer them no insight on the bible that is different from the wt, you are talking about a closed mind, To be one of jw means:
"that you will never agree with a biblical explanation from a member of Satan religious system aka christemdom that is opposite of what the wt teaches"
if you keep the above in mind then it helps one to understand why there are no stumpers with jw

Folks you can't get cult or High Control Status, without doing high control/cult things-
and so as i tell folks all the time, there is nothing to figure out about why folks can see proof, documentation, etc and still at the end of the day say
"I still beleive it is the truth" THIS IS WHAT CULTS/HIGH CONTROL groups do-
we have often read about such groups , sat back in our living room and watched tv about such groups, but folks we have actually had the opportunity to see one up close and personal
this is why when you tell your non jw friends they can't beleive that you as a rational person would actually walk around beliving that you will play with a Tiger under a fig tree in a few short remaining months-
if you really want to see just how far out there we all were, - think about the reaction you get from nonjw when you tell them how you knew that you were failing god cause you didn't study and underline a publication such as the wt that ain't even inspired-
while there are those who don't know anything about the behind the curtain issues, think of all the jw you have personally sent copies and documents to only to be told in affect:
"Even if all you say is Right i perfer to be WRong with the Society"
it is literally that type of mental gymnastices required in order to stay a jw-
when you consider what the ramifications mean if what you tell a jw is right and the wt is wrong, it means they have literally wasted thier life for a worthless cause selling books that in 6months are worthless-
the emotional see saw that one exp as they try to digest the inplications of followiing wt hurts and hurts deep, just look at us, we are literally "The Walking Wounded"
and it is only by reaching out to each other as we do here, does it help us to get on with our lives
i truly can't imagine the mental torture a jw must have felt leaving the org prior to the NET-
i have spoken to many and the pain and mental torture they exp not having a soul to bouce off "Im i going crazy" "is it just me"
so we can be so thankful that today we can call each other, phone each other and even visit each other as we continue on our journey to mental, emotional and spiritual healing

What the WT spends on missionaries, does it include ALL Bethel ops?

this year, the number of $'s spent on missionaries went up to about $110 million.. now, i know they get about $110 a month, but does it really cost $110 million to look after a few thousand missionaries?.
does the figure include the costs of running bethel or missionary homes?.

Never in my life as a Witness was I able to envision or look forward to life beyond a few months out

this has got to be the deepest post i have read in a long time and it is so true
due to the fact that we couldnever see more than a few months out we saw no need to plan for our future
no saving /retirement plans, such conversations could not take place among jw, while it is true some did, but as a collective group for a jw to say
Hey take alook at this info on retiring int 1998,while livnng in 1978, was unthinkable
so we just lived for the day hoping that the end would save us from the future

Reality is the bottom line
One of the roles that religion has played thruout the history of man is providng answers to lifes tough questions
why are we here, where will be go, is this life all there is-
as humans we want and demand answers to our questions and so here is where religion comes in at, it matters not how Goofy , rediculus or foolish the anwser is , as long as we have a answer we are happy
as one looks back thruout history at some of the most ignorant answers to questions that religion has provided man in all parts of the earth it is truly sad
at one time folks actually believed based on thier religion that when it thundered, it was due to the gods being mad-
instead of religon saying we don't know, they just came up with an answer for the masses and the masses were happy
one of the worlds largest religions taught that eating a damn hot dog on friday would get you life in hell
or a religion that tells its members- blow up yourself --and get 42 Fine Virgins that look like Pam Anderson
and the list goes on and on of all the goofy stuff that religion has done in the name of god and then to think that there is some god who has watched this for 1000's of years as sincere and dyed in the wool persons thought that their path was the right path
at this point in my life i do not have all or part of the anwser, but i do know this--
I don;'t want someone just making up some stuff just to answer my questions:
