  What is G-JOBBING for Bethelites?????????

  had enough asked :.

  if you haven't already related to us the experiences at bethel that you told to your mom-in-law, (or even if you already have told us) could you tell us about what you told her.....and...what is "g-jobbing" (sorry for my naivity) .

  i didn't want to take away from sl post about his mother but i thought a little insight into the world of the bethelites would be interesting this am.

  finding a man was always one of the biggest problems in wt due to many factors.

  my last hall had 42 single women from 25 45 yrs of age many never married before.

  i hate to admit it but what you say is true i know a number of black bro who were up front about their desire for a white sister- don't get me wrong - i have no problem, but when someone wants to marry someone just for that reason that is sad for they soon realize like all the guys i personally know who married just for that reason that the white sister is like any other woman- some good points and some bad, but no magical sexual heaven- and now they are living with a woman who "farts" like any other woman in the AM

  THE info in this thread really allows persons to see what type of things go on INSIDE and the mindset that is there- all the hush hush- kep it quiet etc that goes on is unreal.

  these were just some of my personal exp and as you have seen many others can relate much the same

  and pioneer. But then when I get to Bethel, peeps that hadn't pioneered for a day in their life (and had gone to college) had office jobs and I'm stuck cleanin' their crap outta the toilets.
  I don't know if this was the case with anybody else, but the "white" circuits in my area were a little more open-minded and didn't put as much pressure on kids to not go to college, while me being a black kid in a black circuit would've been crucified at the mere thought. College was equated with being spiritually weak. My circuit definitely took what the the FDS said in the Watchtower literally while outlying circuits in the area (Michigan) didn't take those words quite as literally. Interesting dynamics there.

  If I attended college back when I graduated, which was about fourteen years ago my father would have been removed as an elder. Now there are brothers holding positions in the congregation who are attending college themselves

  you are correct these type of actions are not usually used today

  i know elders too who lost thier strips aand you are right

  I agree that pioneering, Bethel, etc. are still encouraged above attending college but I do feel that things are not as strict as they were. Maybe different congregations have a different attitude on the subject

  you are missing a very important point- we are not talking about the a local congregations attitude

  we are talking about the attitude that the org is trying to FOSTER ON ALL CONGO now will every single congo clamp down of course not

  but as an org what directions/tone or as my DO used to say JC Howard

  JWD, here in the U.S. individuals have been sent to law school while members of the Bethel family. Recently met one man who had been in Purchasing, went to school and now runs a division in Legal that handles wills and estate planning and donations, the exact name of the department escapes me now. Used to be handled by Treasurer's office.

  . It used to be that they paid Bethelites .., a month and of course that was not nearly enough to make it to your congregation.

  MY WIFE COULD NEVER figure this one out= they give you $90.00 and you have to use half of it to get to thier meetings

  instead of giving you a Travel allowance in conjuction with the 90 they made you use it instead

  It was my experience that most of the best G-jobbers were the ones who were overseers. They had access to the equipment as you describe and their authority was usually unchecked.

  Many of the Bethelites who used to do pretty well money wise with G-Jobbing were supremely ticked off

  ######ticked off ain't even the word#######

  . It was a case of the fox guarding the chicken coop if you know what I mean.
