you got to love it
i'm totally amazed.
i gave that un report to my (hardcore jw to the extreme max, but in a nice way) aunt, and she didn't speak of it for several days.
when she said nothing, i knew i'd gotten somewhere.. today she finally spoke up.

no i haven't read the replies to my last post although i'm finding it hard to resist.. but let me just add some things.
there is no doubt that some of you 'apostates but you don't even know it' thought you have given some very clever respones.. just to clarify, i've had my share of the world and i'm glad i'm out of it, you however are hanging around on a jw site this is my first and last day of looking on here - and i'm only on here to wnd you lot up, .
how easy was it really - i'm off sick, how many of you just haven't got anything better to do.
"i didn't say i wouldn't look at this one."

this is so funny- think about this folks ---we have a person who claims to be a real jw but he comes to a site where he reads many of the post as a "GUEST" he sees that this site is certainly not WT.org. at that point he realizes everything he has been taught as a jw about dialogging with former member - doesn't apply to him since none of his fellow jw can see him- Elder Pioneers and CO-
yet his God sees him hanging out on the seedy side of town, but he doesn't really care as long as the PO doesn't see him and threaten to take away "MIKE Handling duty"
so he turns around and actually "Registers" to a site that he knows full well is in complete violation to every thing he has been taught as a jw, but hey no one can see him except god, got to keep up that image in the hall of being a spiritual giant
then he posts a thread blasting everyone here- goes away and is HIT with the BUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he can't wait to get home to check his responses, so he logs onto an "Apostate" site to see , then he realizes i can;t respond to any of these apostates, but the desire is just too strong, so he post again, claiming "I really didn't read anyones post" WINK WINK
so now he is biten by the "Apostate Bug" and can't leave- as he goes to the hall this week the only question is will his conscience make him ask Bro Elder -- Can i speak to you about what i have been doing late at night???
so we all wait to see, will he come clean with the Elders or will he come back to join us in more dialog
anyone willing to BET that he------- WILL BE BACK????????????
i just found out today (from my sister) that crooklyn will not be making any more bound volumes of the watchtower or awake magazines after this year------instead, they're all going to be on audio tape only.
she does not have a computer so i generously
i think this could very well be yet another tactic of the gb trying to keep a lid on their "embarassing" quotes of yesterday.

- Lithoman Presses For Watchtower Society
The international religious organization Jehovah’s Witnesses has
recently ordered seven LITHOMAN
presslines from MAN Roland, to
be installed in its printing plants in
England, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa,
Japan (one press each) and the USA
(two presses). Delivery of the order
running in the middle of tens of million
Euros are expected to take place from
July 2003.
With the biggest single order of
this customer to date, MAN Roland
continues the series of international
successes in its cooperation with the
Watchtower Society over a period of
nearly eighty years by now.
In 1927, Watchtower USA ordered
the fi rst letterpress machine from MAN
Roland. A second press followed in
1929. By 1976, about 30 MAN Roland
presses had been installed in the United
States alone. This made Watchtower
the biggest customer worldwide for
MAN Roland at that time.
Since 1984, Watchtower in Italy and
the US has been working with a total
of fi ve 32-page LITHOMAN presslines.
The positive experience with these
machines has now led to the decision
to use this press type worldwide. That
means printing quality on the highest
level worldwide.
The new, single-web systems in 64-
page confi guration operate at speeds
up to 45,000 cylinder revolutions
per hour and with a web width of
1,480 millimetres. They are uniformly
equipped with 2:5:5 folder.
In future, the new Watchtower
LITHOMAN presses will be producing a
large propoprtion of the high-circulation
publications such as The Watchtower
with a circulation of just under 25
million copies in 146 languages and
Awake with a momentary circulation of
22 million copies in 86 languages. In
addition, the machines are intended for
use in the production of bibles or books
of biblical exegesis, each in multimillion
circulation.
The new LITHOMAN presses
markedly reduce the age average
of the Watchtower machinery, thus
considerably increasing overall productivity.
Another important advantage will
result from the close cooperation of
the individual Watchtower printing
plants, which produce largely the
same products. When production will
eventually be run on presses of the
same type, Watchtower will benefit
further because of synergies such as
positive cost effects.
Apart from a substantial capacity
increase, Watchtower expects maximum
availability and reliability, high
net output, excellent printing quality and
high effi ciency to result from the new
LITHOMAN machinery, while it looks
forward to continuing and intensifying
the cooperation with MAN Roland
as its partner in printing and press
technology.

This is exactly true! What you see and what non-JWs see will be different, UNLESS you help them understand the context. In 2001: A Space Odyssey, 'Hal' was a gentle-voiced computer who politely killed off the astronauts who had trusted him. Who could have ever guessed?
The various reactions to this video are very interesting.

BINGO - this is what the whole purpose of being on the net is for many of us, here. to provide nonjw with an insight into the organization that is never seen until you are inside and then its too late as it were
consider if every bible study saw this video before baptism-
that is why we repeately see former jw say, if i had known this info i could have made a betterinformed choice about the wt
as a bible study you only see the Sugar coated side
here on the net you see the good the bad the ugly
i just found out today (from my sister) that crooklyn will not be making any more bound volumes of the watchtower or awake magazines after this year------instead, they're all going to be on audio tape only.

i think this could very well be yet another tactic of the gb trying to keep a lid on their "embarassing" quotes of yesterday.
Franz could keep up a semblance of serious theology and visionary revelations but after him there is no one capable of producing such pseudospiritual works and things have dried up.

excellent point since his death the level of depth of the publications is no more than cut and paste
i came back during the 60's and the Anti-types, explanations were so deep you would get a head ache
today they merely recycle the bookstudy, rev and united in worship was studied almost a dozen times it felt like
great post
i don't mean this as an insult, more of a life experience thing.
i saw a lot of people leave in my years there and a lot were angry with the religion and the people, and some even protested the kingdom halls and wrote things in the newspapers.
a lot though, came back in time, as it was just the comfort zone they felt at ease in.
in my exp if a person leaves for Dogma reason- they are less likely to return , but for one who leaves due to fallout with indiviual, pub, elders, other memebers or one is DFed for various sexuall issues, the fellings of that THEY did wrong are more likely to return in my exp.
it just depend on Why folks stop in the first place
dogma or personlity issues or dfing
i left strictly due to dogmas,
i was well treated, loved, respected and at the top of the wt power ladder as it were- as stated once you find out santa ain't real it is hard to go back to believing

if you just show this video to a nonjw without any context or explanation --of course he may veiw the person recording it a "jerk"
but if you provide them with some context that these men are here to cast you out to SATAN as a wicked man all because you "bought a different teaching" yea "the GB don't speak for God"- you will get an entirely different view.
that is the whole point we have been making online, most nonjw don't know what questions to ask when studying with jw, but when they do, typically they will not become jw
here in Washington dc that has been a tremdous problem as explained by 2 COs-- studies can be started but many end up stopping
folks family friends co worlkers download tons of wt info online and start asking the Right Questions-
i find if you give nonjw just a little context on how jw operate, they can do the rest for they have no blind faith in the GB and therefore have no problem challenging foolish and goofy dogmas up front
case in point, when the wt told jw that if a woman caught her husband having sex with the family dog, she could not divorce and remarry without being considered and adultrer by God
jw all nodded in agreement with that teaching
yet ask the guy you work with the same question,
would god consider him an adulter if he caught his wife with the family dog and remarried
so when nonjw are give some facts about wt they see thru the foolishness
as my fatherinlaw says
by the time you know what questions to ask its too late- you are already end the world of wt
i must admit after being an ex-jws for over 15 years now i still get fustrated at jw's elders when they act so non-chalant about the watchtower's prediction failures.
i was talking to a jw elder just the other day and he was trying to explain away that the society made errors in dates in the past but they are not "false prophets".
i was not even calling them false prophets he was the one that brought up the term.
By contrast, all a JW can scripturally point to is the fact that the apostles in Jesus' day either had preconceived notions of God's plan
"11 While they were listening to these things he spoke in addition an illustration, because he was near Jerusalem and they were imagining that the kingdom of God was going to display itself instantly" - Luke 19:11
"6 When, now, they had assembled, they went asking him: "Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?" 7 He said to them: "It does not belong to YOU to get knowledge of the times or seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction" - Acts1:6,7
or were aware that their knowledge was incomplete
"9 For we have partial knowledge and we prophesy partially; 10 but when that which is complete arrives, that which is partial will be done away with." - 1 Corinthians 13:9,10
UNLIKE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, the apostles didn't write Gospels or letters to publish such tentative ideas and pass them off as divine secrets. The record shows that the only time their ideas were verbalized was to their Teacher, the purpose of which was to confirm, not inform. Consequently they also did not have to write new Gospels or letters to explain the errors in their "expectations". No apostle had to excuse his backflip by sheepishly quoting Proverbs 4:18, using terms like "new light " and "old light". As far as they were concerned, you were either in the light, or you're in the dark.
############################ excellent point yes this has been the explanation i have used and i driven home the point hard that the apostles "ASKED" Jesus was the world about to end, yes they wanted to get it cleared thru jesus before they went forth thruout the land declaring this as divine NEW Light for they knew that god and jesus's "REP" was on the line unlike the wt they just went ahead and Signed Gods name to the check not once, not twice but many times and each time the check bounced then they want to pull out the "WE -B- Imperfect card" heck that is what every religion can do then when their dogma is wrong as one catholic guy told me in service oneday - if a 1000yrs is as one day to god, then the catholic church has only been wrong for a couple days, Why not just wait on the lord to correct things i thought that was a brillant comeback- smile
i believe it was paragraph 17, the one that spoke about the faithful slave and how there are those who wish to be "independent" and that this is wrong.
two comments came, both from elders.
elder 1: so what the paragraph is telling us is that instead of developing an independent spirit we actually want to be developing a spirit of dependece upon god's organization and the spiritual food they provide.
I feel sorry for Elder 1, I know he will never give up the WTS.
Not that long ago, I was Elder 1.
Then I saw the light. Actually, I had been seeing the light for many years. It's like a dripping faucet. Eventually you wake up to reality. At that point, you either decide you have too much invested and you ignore the doubts, or, as in my case, you go with your gut and look for the nearest exit.
The gate is narrow and few are those finding it.
################ Bingo me too
there is only one way to tackle the issue of failed prophecy as regards watchtower publications and their own public response to the failure of their predictions and pronouncements to come true.
miller was wrong, there was no doubt about it.
but, when the watchtower does it --it means just the opposite!
great post my man
