Horrifying Demon Attack: My Experience
by laverite inon a warm summer day when i was about 12 years old (early 1980s), i was home alone for a brief time (family had gone to the grocery store).
i had always been terrified of the demons and was constantly worried about a possible demon attack.
being born in, growing up a dub, the devil and his demons were always either on my mind or not too far from conscious thought.

Has being a JW turned you into a doormat?
by highdose ini confess it has for me.
when people are nasty to me and agressive i tend to freeze and have no idea what to say!.
all those years of being brainwashed into "turn the other cheek" etc etc kick in.

Nope, I've always been a big-mouthed, quick-witted kinda person. And can always get my message across, either subtlely or blatanly, depends on the situation. I was even able to get a message to the right person (inlcuding elders and pioneers) while commenting at meetings and never got in trouble once Good times, good times. Always speak my mind. My friends say I speak sarcasm fluently.

Fight with wife over watching Avatar escalates to near-separation--true story
by sd-7 init's true because it happened to me last night.
i knew it was trouble when she started looking at my kindle.
once she got to the short stories i wrote 3 years ago, autobiographical, some of it involving her, i knew i wouldn't be going to bed before 1:00 (it was 11:40 p.m. by then).

sd-7 man. I really don't know what to say. Except, that my heart goes out to you. I could really feel through your words how much pain, confusion, and sadness you're going through. I almost cried, (being the whimpy crybaby that I am, I probably would have had I not been at work). I've never been married, but was madly in love once. And when things got bad, we still tried to make them work, and in the end, we only brought more pain to each other. Things, ended pretty badly. Just be honest and try to asses the situation, it might be better to just let go now before you end up hating each other. I myself, suffer from depression and constatn feelings of helplessness. And from your expressions towards the end of your post, I think I understand pretty well what's going on in your mind. But you're not alone, we're always there. You can tell from all the other long posts, how much people here care about you. They all took the time to read through, and try to offer some kind of comfort or advise. I know how easy and appealing it is sometimes to just call for death. But then a new day comes and you'll always find something worth living for. If you can, try to take that vacation to the pacific, try to get away, forget about everytying for a few days and clear your mind. You'll think of something, even if doing that something might not be easy to do. Another poster mentioned how you'd already survived leaving the WT, as we all know, no easy feat by any means. So you can pull through this, don't give up. Let us know what you need.

Most Ridiculous Thing You've Ever Been Counseled On
by MrFreeze ini'm sure topics like this have already come up but they tend to get hilarious with the absolute absurdity that goes on in the kh.
i was once counseled for not shaving after two days.
i was also counseled by a sister for eating lucky charms cereal.

Let's see...wearing a pink shirt, wearing ties with patterns, anything besides solid and stripes was unacceptable. Once I was out in FS with white shirt and black pants, and some bro said not to wear it again as I looked like a Mormon . An elder once pulled me aside and said I should try to speak with a more grave deepr voice, he said my voice was too high pitched and sometimes sounded like a girl.....(I was 16 at the time). The kind of music that I danced to, apparently dancing Merengue or Salsa is unacceptable unless you're married to that person....

While I agree with Nancy Drew's logic....I think I'll probably do it. I still believe in God and..... IDK, it just seems like a good idea to keep him in mind, seeing he's really the only one who knows what'll happens right after the big kaboom!!

Allowing Jehovah to speak!
by wannabe inthese are not my words!

There!....Happy????
I have, on the other hand, seen criticism of your posting style and post contents. It is difficult to read and it is often a lot of unsupported assertions and faulty reasoning.
I agree with Madsweeney. In the time I've been lurking, and posting, your posts have always been way to long and pointless to read. And not very popular I might add, usually just a few comments. I usually just got a kick of reading what other posters had to say.
