look at the difference in height between your index and ring fingers, palm facing towards you:.
a) they are pretty much the same height.
b) the index finger is taller.
When looked at, the answer is "a", pretty much the same height. However, if you pay attention, you palm follows a slight downward angle. If you take this into consideration then the "ring" finger is actually taller, it's just wehre they are positioned on your hand that makes them look the same.

for the past several weeks i have been seeing a wonderful therapist who ran a grief support group that i attended 1 1/2 years ago when my mom died.. at the time i was just absolutley shocked that after 30 years of being a wt slave only 5 people bothered to send a card regarding her passing.. i brought up to her in detail how the jw religion does not look favorably on anyone who doesn't agree 100% with their way of thinking, and moving forward that still affects me to a certain extent, esp.
the shunning.. well, she brought up several times how the witness "mindset" of collective thinking (i kept thinking of the borg in star trek ) discourages individuality.
this thinking has carried over in other aspects of my life, tendrils she said that work against other normal human behavior feelings.. the key is how a person deals positivley with the new way of dealing with unknown, or repressed emotions.
Paying attention to what/who I am is much more important than what others think/expect what I should be.
Focusing, and working on emotions, experiences that are positive, and forward thinking are my assignments, it is something that is hard to do after being a witness for so many years. Breaking the jw mindset is not easy,, but it can be done.
I can relate. I too have been seeing a therapist for almost 10 months now. It's horrible to realize how many things are wrong with the belief system the witnesses create. Little by little I've started to break free, and can make my own mind as to what things I really believe and which ones, are just the result of the GB narrow thinking. I'm glad to know we're not alone in this difficult journey.

I have tried but I couldn't do it. Thing is, I'm EXTREMELY ticklish. The minute someone touches any thing between my neck and my hips, I start laughing uncontrollably. If they do it on purpose then I start involuntarily kicking and punching. My friends say it's actually kinda funny from their end.

i remember in the 70's my friends mom started partaking of the emblems.
she said she had developed a preoccupation with heaven and of wanting to know everything she could about jehovah and could hardly go a minute without reading the literature or the bible...even while on the toilet.
her formerly "opposing" husband had recently studied and gotten baptized.
but they would be watching you for all eternity.
That idea always used to be very awkward kinda creepy to me.

OMG!!!!...... I remember my good ol' days....getting there at 7am. leaving at +8pm helping with the cleaning. Remember the times I was asked to help out as attendant, would actually go to an entire convention the previous or follwing week to fully pay attention and benefit from the program. Yup, that was me. Why is she "leaving" the session early, does she work a night shift or something?

yesterday afternoon, the sad thought popped into my mind that, apparently, some witnesses could be made to believe anything provided it appears on the magazines.
if they said that accepting blood is now ok, many would take transfusions, and that would sort of make sense.
but if they also said that hell is a physical place after all, many would accept that, too.
It's all new "light".

i am off to convention tomorrow.
for the first time in my life i don't want to go...but i have to, this sucks..
Don forget all the reminders that have already been considered on this forum. Lepel badge. Taking good notes of anything that might be of interest to US. Dress appropriately. And don't forget to practice the new songs, if about 50 people sound like a car dying, I can only imagine what 5000 must sound like.
