OK, things are about to get messy....
by uk_ex_jw ini have been operating as an ex-jw for over five years now.. i was never d/f or d/a - following an unsuccessful marriage to a jw and subsequent divorce, i went through quite an awful period of my life.. i was blocked from seeing my daughter by my ex-wife and her staunch jw family.. slowly my jw friends started pulling away as they didn't want to get involved.. i lost all interest in the organisation, and started to build a social circle outside of the faith.. at this point, my mother was still an active jw.. during that time, my mother wrote a letter to the bethel in london explaining to them what my ex-wife had done, and how she had been supported by her jw family.. the reply ; your son, and yourself need to work on your own spirituality.
jehovah will bless you as a result.. so that was it.. over the last 12 months, myself and my mother have spent a lot of time researching the organisation.
i gave her crisis of conscience which she has read, and now she is at the point where she doesn't believe that the organisation have the truth and hasn't been to a meeting in over a year.. yet, she has been hounded by elder's since this time.. one particular elder - imagine, the hitler-type elder who makes it his business to organise and dictate everyone's lives.

Why not enjoy running them all in circles for as long as possible, especially that nit-wit busy-body elder? I like Yan's suggestion...keep him thinking he's about to pin down a meeting time. Enjoy talking to him everyday and be completely evasive, keeping him running circles. Frustrate the hell of him until he nearly spontaneously combusts. Spontaneous elder combustion -- maybe they'll do a special comeback episode of "That's Incredible" in honor of the fun.

The Watchtower Society actually WANTS witnesses to take blood.
by Sapphy inshocking?
hear me out.. acts 15v29 "blah blah blah... abstain from blood".
for years the millions of jehovah's witnesses worldwide have been fed stories of "brave witnesses" who "fought to stay true to their convictions" by refusing blood transfusion.

ElderElite:
You write: " Its not even a df offense, its a disasociation matter. Not a small differance." But isn't it pretty much the same? The result (shunning is the same). Also, isn't DA worse (in a way) than DF? Folks who are DFd aren't *generally* considered apostates, right? DA = apostacy. DF (generally) = sinful behavior. Obviously this distinction is only true part of the time, but you get my point. Thoughts?

Billy - that's exactly it. Long. Hot. Huge crowds. I didn't miss anything by not going. But I've been to a number of them in the past. Glad you got to go. Just feeling a bit bummed that you don't have any amusing stories of a missing shirt and walking backwards.

by elderelite inthis is of course nothing new again..... but just struck me as i ignored the watchtower today... .
so israel is running from the egyptions... the desert god is taking wheels off of chariots and such so they can cross the red sea.
he also has already told moses at this point that hes going to do away with pharoh and his army too.... .

A Question About Shunning
by Adumbra inmuch has been said on what it is like to be shunned but i would like to hear from the other side of the practice: what is it like to shun?.
just to give you my perspective: i was raised a jw, but was never baptized and in fact i was only a real zealout for about 2 years of my life.
for this reason when a friend of mine was disciplined for marijuanna possession it never even occured to me that i should shun him (i visited him the day after it was announced at the meeting to cheer him up).
