My daughter got her A Levels yesterday and is off to university in September
by Xanthippe inshe took english, maths and physics and acheived a* a* and a. .
it is the best thing possible for me, even better than seeing her opening birthday presents or the day she won the halloween fancy dress prize at school.. her dad died five years ago but she has coped and done so well at school.
it has shown me that despite what happens in life you can still do well and reach your goals, especially if you take a cult upbringing out of the equation!

Plus, vinegar is also a food. So no chemicals. I wouldn't use anything else.

I use 1:10 white vinegar and water. It's awesome. Costs almost nothing and once it's dried there's no vinegar smell at all. Just clean.

Something odd just happened when I logged on!
by tornapart ini typed in my name, password and the captcha, expecting to see my name come up in the top right corner and what i actually saw was someone else's name!
(the name was another member of this board).
i looked at it for a few seconds feeling a bit puzzled and not sure what to do about it and as i looked it automatically changed (whithout me doing anything) back to my own name.. has anyone else had this happen to them?

My August Update
by OnTheWayOut ini don't really have a purpose in this thread, but wanted to share my thoughts and updates.. fading has, at least for now, totally stabilized.
my jw wife doesn't discuss jw things and, as difficult for me as it is, i haven't been discussing anything directly against jw policy.
oh, i slip in comments when she tries to judge people or groups based on her jw training- things like gay marriage, medical marijuana, pedophile news stories.

OTWO,
Even if she never comes out of the cult (never say never though!!), small steps are good. I've seen some interesting things in my family. I have a couple of JW family members who are FAR more liberal than the rest of my family (who are all UBER!!). When I mention that they are liberal JWs, they say they are offended by that and say they don't know what I am talking about. I call them out on how they aren't typical JWs and are at odds with Watchtower (e.g. they love gay people, love their gay friends, etc.). We have these conversations, with them saying they are offended and me calling them out but no one is actually upset in the least. It's all very friendly and no one gets pissed off.
But back to your wife, little baby steps may ultimately mean more normalcy for you and your marriage, even if she stays a life-long JW. I admire your love for your wife. She is one lucky person indeed.

Ann,
I just clicked on active topics and I was you! I think you are on to something. But I think because you had just posted, I momentarily turned into you.
This is kind of fun!
