Entertainment for International Delegates
by Listener inbibl3thumper has posted a youtube of the celebrations that took place for german delegates.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvs6_q7rqps&feature=em-subs_digest.
it's hard to believe that they are now using the kingdom hall to sing pop songs and for dancing.

I sent a couple of these videos to a JW I know...here's his response.
Funny, looks inner city..Not my thang, hate line dancing and the churchy emotion .I dont have sound on my Pc in this moment. Will watch later .When we were in Germany the had a Beer gaeden at the double kingdom hall parking lot and brought in 10 kegs of Beer for the delegates and made Bavarian food and we danced until 1:30 in the morning. The whole place was decroated and everyone wore the traditional costumnes. Felt very strange to have stein of Beer at the Hall. A lot of the prudish American's couldn't get into it, but many like me had no problem at all....Looks like the guy posting this video "Context Ministries" is got his own following......Hope he's having as much fun as these people seem to be...

JW.ORG to be the fulfillment of Matthew 24:14
by donuthole inthe organization is shifting away from printed literature in favor of their new jw.org website.
the website contains content that is not printed in literature.
kiosks, trolleys, and storefronts are being used to showcase the website.

If scaling back of the printing occurs, what are they going to do with the huge upstate New York complexes and how will they keep all those Bethelites busy?

I have to admit this, and you're not going to like it
by stillin inthe society has improved their game.
i just got home from the regional assembly.
it was a well-choreographed, technically excellent affair.

It has gotten to the point now that the average person can print professional looking documents and put together decent power point presentations and well edited videos while sitting at home in their easy chair in their pyjamas. There is no reason to think the society is any more credible than it ever was, now that their programs are going more "high tech". Older people will be impressed, but I hear younger and more tech savy ones say they see these presentations as being pretty mediocre and recognize the obvious editing tactics used to manipulate the viewing audience.

"I just wanted to tell you, Dad and I love you, (my wife) loves you and all your friends love you, as does Jehovahs. Please don't throw it all away."
Thanks Mom...I love you and Dad too. I'm not sure how you know for sure what Jehovah does or doesn't think about me but if he loves me as you say, he will always love me and he knows exactly who I am and who I've always been.
I know it's not quite the same thing but when I graduated and left highschool, you didn't say " don't throw it all away" . You knew that I'd always benefit from the knowledge I had gained there and I'd have fond memories of that experience. You also realized that even though it served a purpose and was beneficial for a time, there was no need for me to continue on there forever especially since there is so much broder knowledge to gain and experiences to be had by moving forward.

watchtowers army assault on our vulnerable elderly in nursing homes
by friendaroonie inits been a long time since i have been this enraged at the evilness and shameless exploitation by the jws.
i just got back from the meeting (dont ask) and sat through the km article laying out plans to mass convert nursing homes all over the world.
i am not going to labor the obvious ethical travesty of this plan but i will say that it constitutes a major public health risk.

Maybe this is what the poster is talking about.

by One Last Kiss ini recently did just that and had an unexpectedly uplifting experience.
whilst on vacay i was informed by my jw friend (only dimly aware of my faded status) that wed be visiting the local kh .
so there i was, far from home, not been to a kh in over a year and heading to the sunday meeting.

I can’t stress enough how surreal yet reaffirming it was to be there, far from the JW community I was used to, seeing everything with new eyes . First thing I noted was the self-importance the elders exuded
Attending a meeting or assembly where you don't know anyone is much like dining at a restaraunt alone or going to a movie all by yourself. Some people have never eaten alone or gone to a movie alone because the thought of it makes them extremely uncomfortable.
Going to an assembly in a strange City where you know no one, can be an eye opening experience, even for a long time JW. It's only then that you have the opportunity to see things as they really are and are able to focus on your own personal experience rather than being caught up in the spirit of the occasion, not because you are learning wonderful life giving truths, but becasue you are enjoying being with old friends and are in your comfort zone.
This is why movie and restaurant critics work alone. For anyone who is sitting on the fence in terms of continuing with being a JW, I highly recommend they try this.

Remember the YHWH Letters/Buttons/Pins?

It was our version of the Saint Christopher on the dashboard or the Cross hanging from the rear view mirror.
" Well I don't care if it rains or freezes , long as I got my plastic Jesus YHWH riding on the dashboard of my car...
Goin 90 it aint scary, long as I got the Virgin Mary YHWH assuring me that I won't go to Hell Sheol"

I remember people displaying the Tetragrammaton on leather Bible covers, bumper stickers etc back in the 70's especially during Assembly time. As Kids riding in the back of the car from Seattle to the International Assembly in Vancouver Canada we'd wave like fools, at all the people with Watchtowers or YHWH or the Tretragammaton displayed in their back window of their car.
I also remember there being stern warnings that if you displayed these items, you'd have to be especially exemplary in your behavior and in showing driver courtesy, and strictly obey all traffic laws. Wouldn't want to bring reproach on Jehovah's organizaiton.....you'd be held "bloodguilty" if you turned someone away from The TRUTH ® .

Finally learned how to live the REAL real life
by forest heathen insomeone suggested i post an introductory thread.
i am a married, rather young grandma of four precious rugrats, ages 2-9. i guess our only child son and his only child wife didn't want their own kids to be "onlies".
my other half and i married rather young (18 &22) and will be celebrating 31 years together this summer.. i am sort of add, keep thinking i am still 28, love my husband now more than ever, and am so glad i woke up and left the crazy cult.. my husband and i began studying months after marrying and then decided to take the dunk.

Great to hear your story F.H.. Did any of your old JW friends from Texas, California or Nevada, wonder what ever happened to you guys? It must have come as quite a shock to them to find out you faded, especially since you were sound like you were the ideal Witness family. Any interesting tales to tell in that regard?
