churches and other groups had to switch their wireless systems to make room for emergency services.. have the khs in the u.s. made these changes or are they still using 700 mhz wireless systems?

we also had one where a sister was out in fs and a dog talked, it told a sister not to knock on this one door, the sister went to the house and knocked anyway, and the doors and windows of the house flew open and dishes flew out, the sister was scared and ran away and the dog yelled at her retreating back "i told you not to got here!

There was a brother and a Circut Overseer that called on a woman at the door. The woman told them that she regularly conducted seances and told peoples fortunes. During their discussion about how wrong this is from the bible's standpoint, the woman broke out in a fit of hysterical shreaking and laughing. The brother was horrified to see the Circut Overseer slap the woman right across the face. On the way back to the car he asked the Circut Overseer why he hit the woman. A sister was approached at the assembly by a man who told her that he had once broken into her house to rob her and was hiding under her bed. I remember a talk at a District assembly back in the late 70's where they were outlining all that was wrong with the world (as usual) naturally "today's music" was to blame for much of it. At the top of the speakers list was "Me and Mrs. Jones"... and with all the scornfullness he could muster, he read the verse "Me and MRS Jones....we've got a THIIIING goin on." Next on his list was "Bad Girls...toot-toot...beep-beep, talkin bout' Bad Girls toot-toot-beep-beep" It sounded so ridiulos to hear him reading out the lyrics this way that people were snickering.
So we renamed the song "Me and sista' Jones" and changed the lyrics

some of the "bible stories" and the hidden meanings seem far too ambigious to be depended on to lead mankind to salvation.. if someone had interjected the story of jack and the bean stalk in the bible 5 thousand years ago...the wtbts would likely be telling us now that the cow jack sold to buy the magic beans stood for gods sheeplike ones who cast off the material things of the world in order to take advantage of spiritual matters.
planting the magic beans represents the sowing god's life giving message through our ministry, the bean stalk pictures mankinds ability to raise himself up to a heavenly level by means of spirital food.

The Giant would represent Satans oppressive organization and the Watchtower Society would be symbolized by the goose that laid the golden egg and from who's droppings we must all feed.
I would have been taught this story from birth along with all the other possible notions about what the Bible is supposedly saying and it would have sounded logical and I likely would have gone along with it like I did the rest.
As far as God and the Bible goes...I'm taking a wait and see attititude...this mess was going on long before I came onto the scene and with the new "genreation" thing...it may be going on long after I'm gone. In the meantime, I'm not responsible for having all the answers. They have put that idea into our minds. All the years of them trying to prove how many angels can dance on the head of a pin (so to speak) and using incomplete or unprovable information to do so, has gotten me to the point that I've thrown the baby out with the bath water....for the time being anyway.

Do you believe the Bible?
by Cagefighter ini don't want to high jack african gb's thread but something got me thinking.... moses, abraham were inbred and hearing god's voice... paul never met jesus yet he is the only apostle coming down like a hammer of gays and has this "close bond" with timothy.
then there is the issue of "horus" the egyptian god and is this where the story of jesus comes from.
i have searched the internet for information on horus and have not had much luck finding anything authorative either way.. my question is do you or don't you believe in the bible and why or why not?

I don't know what made be buy the Universal Sovereignty argument for the permission of evil
by gubberningbody in...but it seems foundational to any intelligent investing in a religion.. i you can't provide a morally upright reason for the permission of evil without just having the deity pull rank and declare himself righteous, then i'm not really interested in hearing any more.. were i to listen, it would be out of morbid curiosity, not out of any intent to invest..

Like so many other beliefs...at first glance they sound like they make sense, but on some level it doesn't quite add up.
Why would an Almighty God need to prove anything to anyone, let alone at the expense of Billions of suffering humans ?
Weren't the Angels around long enough before the existence of Adam and Eve to know exactly who had the right to rule ?
And why would it have taken all these thousands of years and billions of lives to prove his point ?
Even if the point is proven, the outcome is the same....get rid of the one causing the trouble.
