  how many in your cong had nervous breakdowns?

  of the congregation i spent my life in i would say a good 75% had nervous breakdowns at some point.

  and often there was never really a obivous reason for it.

  well not that we jw's could understand at the time.. even the queen bee's/ elderettes were not immune to this.. what about you?.

  The high incidence of Depression and Anxiety disorders among the JW's was always explained with the use of the scripture at Ezekiel 9:1-6 where it talked about the ones who were"sighing and crying" over the abominations of the world. They said it was to be expected that God's people would be more concerned and saddened by the wickedness going on around them, than the general population would be.

  I think the Anxiety and Depression comes from knowing on some level that the beliefs don't quite add up and that they may be deluding themselves.

  SMOKING

  due to health reasons (cost of a pack as well) i've gotta stop smoking....terry suggested smokless cigeretts.

  what's a good way to stop?

  i have managed to cut down to less than 10 a day, but have got to stop period.

  I can only imaging what a struggle it must be to quit. If it were me, I'd want to know how long Nicotine stays in the body so as to understand how long I would have to endure the cravings. I hear that it's important to drink a lot of water in order to flush the nicotine out of the body.

  We got the Canadian channels as well....Mutley (the snickering hound) was my favorite cartoon character.....the perfect gif for your witty comments ! It only figures you're a Canuk...I knew there was something about you that I liked. LOL

  P.S. "Fellow Canadian here" Love B.C....we ski at Whistler/Blackcombe and Grouse Mtn. Take the Clipper to Victoria etc.

  Of course....it had to be Outlaw (my favorite poster) who guessed it.

  How do you know this ? Were you a "Patches Pal" too . J.P. was my hero ! He came on twice a day. We once took a school field trip to see his show being taped when I was a kid.

  Do you see the dark stretch of trees below the mountain on the right side of the photo....thats where I live. I can see the Mountain on a clear day, from my house.

  At what age should women stop wearing tight jeans!?

  i'm at the grocery store.

  walking ahead of me is this woman with a really nice butt in really tight jeans, small waist, nice hair.

  (yes, guys, even us women notice other women's butts:-) she stops at the dairy section, turns around and i swear she is 60 if not older!

  No age limit....it depends on the woman. Lucky me (I mean fortunately) my wife looks as hot in a pair of skinny jeans as she did when we were going out. Unbelievable how she somehow managed to have kids and kept her figure and what I always called, her T.D.S.B (tear drop shaped bum) and narrow waistline. Even when she was full on pregnant, she could still wear her jeans. She'd lace them together at the waistband and let her maternity tops cover it up. from the back you'd never know she was pregnant.

  But even if a woman is a bit larger, she can still look pretty darn good in jeans if they fit right and she knows how to wear things that work for her particular build....more power to them !

  Have schools in your area done away with Holidays ??

  the local public grade schools in our town are doing away with halloween and christmas as a way to appease religions that don't celebrate them !

  now they will have fall changing of seasons celebration and winter celebration .

  instead of halloween costumes students are being asked to wear their school name t-shirts ......

  When my kids were in school, Halloween was called "fall harvest festival" and kids were asked to wear non monster type costumes. It was still too closley linked to Halloween for Witnesses to participate.

  In our State, there was a big debacle about the State Capital Bldg. being decorated for Christmas. If there was to be a Christmas tree, other religious groups including Wickens etc, wanted something to represent them as well. People are pretty sick of religious people getting in the way of their traditions. Some JW's saw this as a sign that might eventually fulfill their long awaited hope of having the government "turn" on Religion.

  Since Some Were Asking About The Vast Apostate Army...

  hey everyone, a couple people were asking about the november 5th, 2017 reference in the last hitler as the leader of the watchtower parody video so i figured i'd swing by and post a link to the latest recruitment video for the vast apostate army.. all my other videos are for my daughter and to help her if she ever questions religion (or jws specifically), this one however is for me.

  i always get a really big grin on my face when dustin talks about the vast apostate army and i really just want to set him off for a few videos.

  From what I understand, the buildings in Brooklyn are virtually deserted except for the laundry facality where, for now, they bring everything in by truck from Patterson and the other upstate New York facilities. Brooklyn is no longer the place to focus on it would seem.
